I was quite surprised after watching the excellent Jonathan Demme film on Neil - "Journeys" that Daniel Lanois was not accurately credited with inspiring/ creating this new chapter in presenting Neil's solo presentations of his music, 'cause what I heard from that Massey Hall show was so vibrantly futuristic and yep - ORCHESTRAL for one man and one instrument... well lets just say that the Le Noise sessions were the only antecedent and precedent. Now if D.L. could only get Dylan to try it on...
Amazing. Sure would hope to run into these guys at 1 of my art shows as to get their true feelings of their interpretation of my work. Could only imagine their thoughts of color and interpreted to sound.
i remember danny boy. he used to try to beat me up in high school but i ended up kicking his ass and humiliating him. well it looks like it did him some good. ten years later he picked me up hitchhiking on sunset blvd in his ferrari and took me to his lavish home and we jammed playing and singing niel songs all night. haven't seen him since. think i saw his name on a dylan album. great that he's working with the nielistic one. some fine songs, my my hey hey i must be phantacising by the way
