I met Billy after a real small concert, probably 150 people or less. It was his first time in my state and I had to be there. We chatted for a few minutes and he's a real humble guy. There was nobody running the merch stand, so I bought my Billy Strings shirt right from Billy Strings!

I have met Billy before and his father a few years ago at Elderly Instruments in Lansing, Michigan.. I heard them playing in the acoustic room there when I walked in and was blown away. I did not know who they were at that time.
Glad you had a whirlwind visit. Alex and I are long time friends. I met him when he was 5 yrs old and I knew then he was special. We've been great friends ever since. I hung out with his dad quite a few times. Great family to pick and sing with. You worked hard to earn the opportunity to pick with one of your guitar heroes. I suffer from depression in this world and time is pretty bleak…but if we choose a Five mile radius to stick too…I rarely watch the news so I don’t get depressed . I think I friended you on Facebook. I’m retired now and work on my own guitars. The one guitar is project I’m sanding the top down then repairing the cracks and going to apply French polish then reglue the bridge, unfortunately I can’t enlarge the sound hole. Please practice gratitude…for your family and friends. I’ll pray for you…feel better many people love you! ❤

It doesn't seem like 10 years, but yeah I saw that same video and couldn't get enough, I've been following him since before the Don Julin years as well. One video that really sticks out, is the one where he is playing "Train, Train" and he played like a 9:30 second intro and at one point was literally playing over the sound hole, the things he does on guitar are literally unreal at times! In music especially, sometimes it is a disservice to others to say so and so is the best at this or that, and we are so blessed to have some amazing bluegrass pickers around today, but I would have to say that he is the number 1 bluegrass guitar player today in our time.

The first time i saw Billy must have been maybe 7/8 years ago when i was on you tube and just clicked on random video's. There he was sitting on a bench playing banjo. From that day i've been following him across the internet watchin him getting better en better and bigger as an artist. The crowds and venues get bigger and i hoped for years he would go on a european tour because i live in the Netherlands and i want to feel and experience what all those people talk about after a show. Februari 2022 the news came...european tour wow Amsterdam wow bought myself the max amount of tickets (4)didn't Care if anyone would join me because if not i would Walk 4 times in and out De Melkweg just for the experience. But i found a few friends wich i shoved billy's music down their troaths. Stalked them every day with video's hehe .😏 I don't think Billy and the band really know what they do to people with the music they play. Its...special Anyway tomorrow after years of dreamin finally its the big day. I'm walking around with a smile from ear to ear because i'm gonna see Billy Strings live! Tomorrow Amsterdam, if you see the guy with the big smile its me 😁

The highlight for me was Highway Hypnosis... a real psychedelic trip.. I'm a fan of Hawkwind and some tracks were really worth Space rock!!

I can’t find it now but when I picked up a couple Elliott capos a couple years ago I recall reading that you should push the button in when you close it. If you snap it closed by force as you’re doing it puts unnecessary wear on the latch mechanism.
You need to put a little piece of clear vinyl over the signature. Otherwise, the signature's gonna rub off over time from being taken out of the case. So happy for you!

wow that Gallagher sounds huge.. Did you change strings? What String joy strings are on it (Naturals/Foxwoods)? What thickness is that TS pick?
I changed them the day before meeting billy, stringjoy 13-56 PB. When these strings will be changed i keep them. Billy played them. Cant throw em.
