yep no doubt! I will be starting to plant and run a drag and heavy cultipacker tomorrow and it will be in work mode. It really does make a big difference for different tasks! Congrats on the machine!
Everyone has their own personal opinion and in my personal opinion you "up-graded"! I have always thought of CanAm machines as sort of the "Cadillac/Top of the Line" in terms of ATVs and that sir is what you purchased. Enjoy!
I have the 23 sportsman 850 ute and think it's great. I haven't gotten to ride a can am yet. I have sat on a few and feel like they're pretty stiff. Coming from a Polaris everything is stiff. Last weekend i found that the front end tends to push from time to time. I've always been a sport quad guy so it's all new to me.
I believe you forgot to mention that you have 3 different option for your engine brake, off, mid, or high. I absolutely love my can ams, I have over 7600 miles on my 650.
Wow! That's a lot of miles! Yeah I love all the options! Been doing a lot of food plotting and the high DPS really helps with all the turns when pulling a heavy drag or cultipacker! I love this Can Am!
Awesome congratulations! I have the 1000xt in blue and absolutely love it. But you said about the key, if you put it in work mode that basically limits power delivery and cuts speed. So you didn't need to get the key programmed for the limit of the power.
Wow great machine! But if the person I 'loan' it to is smart, or a smart teenager they might figure out the work mode thing! LOL. So, the key fob has no way around it! Can't wait to ride it! Thanks
I'm very happy that my 2023 can am outlander 850 change your mind, the one that was sold is mine I absolutely love it. Also you can change the engine brake as well
Itp mudlite xtr. I've gone through 3 sets across 2 machines and 13000km. Btw sport mode on the intelligent throttle control means wheelies. As for your gripe about the clutch on the Polaris, hitting your clutches with compressed air every 1000km or so will keep them from being jerky. It's not just a Polaris thing.
As for the Polaris, I've known that belt engagement hesitation on most every one I've had. Although I have never cleaned them as you suggest so you may be right, but for the average non mechanical person they do have that reputation. Yeah, wheelies should not be in my 'opportunities!' LOL That could be bad!! But looking forward to some trail riding! Thanks
Welcome to Can-am I have the 2021 850XT a 2021 450 and a 2018 570 with over 15,000 and a 2015 450L with 13,000 miles all was bought new I love Can-Am I hardly ever ride the 850 its still like new not because I dont like it I love it I just rather ride my ol 2015 450L its been a wonder atv and no problems other than one belt not because it was bad I just thought it was time to change it two sets of brake pads and one rear axle because the boot was busted and I didn't see it other than oil changes nothing else just a good basic atv that gets the job done and its easy to work on if need be. take it easy until you break it in watch sport mode you will wake the beast up but you made the right choice .
Thank you! Man I really love that Can-Am atv! Kind of hard to put my finger on it but it's quality makes it much more rewarding to ride! I've had a lot of ATVs over the years and by far this is my favorite of them all! Thank you and take care
good video, though i dont like the fact that they let you ride a machine that was already sold unless they got permission. as with most quads, the rear is locked all the time whether in 2wd or 4wd
Well that was the only one they had available outside of the showroom I think it was a good call. And probably the machine wasn't paid for yet it just had a deposit on it like most
@@kapperoutdoors i'll agree to disagree. it didnt look hard to get the other one out. part of buying a new machine is knowing nobody outside maybe the dealer staff rode it besides the person buying it. 5 miles and up to 68 mph.. thats a demo in my book, but im not looking to argue about it. enjoy
yep, that is exactly what I want to avoid! Happened to me once already! But they say that 26's would work. I guess the ones on this ATV are like 25.5's.. ?
@@kapperoutdoors they should be a 26x8x14 front and 26x10x14 rear, probably measure out smaller to the 25.5 though. Tire rub is my only complaint with the canam, and I only did it to get a little more ground clearance.
The fender clearance just looks pretty close to me and I ususally keep the shocks on softest setting. But I'll try the stock tires and see how they hold up! Thanks
I have a 2021 outlander 850 xt, just to note mine did not come greased from the factory. You might want to look over your atv. Other then that these atv's are crazy powerful. Enjoy!
Good info thanks! So much for the dealers going them! Looking forward to the first ride! It's killing me sitting in the barn but it's been cold and rainy lately.
Grats on the new machine, fun times ahead. My biggest complaint with my 21 Outlander was the maintenace. I felt like I was chasing down a squeak before and after each ride, went through a ton of marine grease and lubricant. Also, while the visco lok 4 wheel drive is better than limited slip, it's not true 4 wheel drive as this model doesn't have a locking front diff. The power though is a blast and I hope it does you well. Next time, test drive a new Grizzly 😉. Polaris ride quality with Honda reliability and build quality. Cheers!
I had a Brute Force and really liked it! From what I've read the new visco lock "QE" is what I have that is supposed to be a big improvement over others, maybe like yours? The QE is 'quick engage' so they definitely improved it. I will definitley test it to see if it truly locks the front diff, or if it kind of comes in and out, as the front tire turn. I'm hoping that once it kicks in, that it stays in automatically for some time, but I'll try to find out! Thanks and happy trails!
On the left handle there is a lever that does both brakes, and then there is the foot brake only for the rear. The Polaris had brakes on both sides of the handlebars as well as a foot brake.
I also am not a fan of one handle brakes, and brakes is one place the Outlander could use some improvement. Tiny rotors and pads and a single rotor in the rear is lacking to say the least for a 800 pound plus machine. I own 2 700 Grizzly's and a 23 Outlander 850 and the brakes on the Grizzly are 100% better. But luckily the hand brake on the Outlander gives so little back brake pressure if you use the hand brake and foot brake it is almost like having separate brakes. If you do any higher speed riding the hand brake only just won't cut it, especially if you reduce the engine braking. I would hope someone at Can Am actually gets out and does some spirited riding on one so they will improve the brakes! I can hear the reviews, "to go with the adjustable engine braking Can Am has now greatly improved the braking ability of the Outlander to make it a much better handling machine" I am glad that the pedal only does the rear brake so you can use it to slide around corners.

Seems like a Honda or Yamaha would have been a better choice for an ATV that was going to be used for work. The Honda Rubicon or forman would be much better on fuel, quieter, gears instead of a belt, and of course the honda reputation. A yamaha kodiak would also be a good choice. Constant belt tension and a 10 year belt warranty. Still a great reputation for quality, still better on fuel than a 850 twin.
I considered the Honda Rubicon, but felt that I just needed more power. Then I really got excited about the Honda 680 Rincon, but they do not offer power steering with it!
