oh i know, on one hand its like, do you even need the dormers in the first place. but i also get its part of the challenge/her brand to make it a little frustrating. also did she really say she didnt want to be called kayak? i never heard that but i havent gone on twitch in months. its unpleasant interacting that closely with fandom types.

this may be an unpopular opinion but i wish she did the original amount that was given to her. i feel like she does the cheap, under 20k houses too much. they are great but idk i feel like i’ve seen it so much from simsie. i think maybe im just tired of seeing the same base game stuff idek

exactly, finally we had a chance for a house more expensive than 20k (but still cheap) but she just rerolled lol
and even with a super cheap build, using stuff from other packs would have made it more unique. i kept thinking about the eco lifestyle cheap tv, it's like 80 simoleons i think and adds a specific style/character to the house
i feel like she wants to be exclusive to people who don't have all the packs but at the same time it's getting overused

she's explained multiple times why she limits packs. i think the budget challenges though are waaay too frequent. she says limits are fun to her but she can put limits on herself in so many other ways
Simsie I love your videos so much, I watch them everyday. But I feel like I’ve seen this house thousands of time from you on the channel. Same exact floor you always use, same bathroom furnishing, same couch and rug, same furniture in the kids room. The swatch is also always the same. I wish that you’d let free some creativity and make something fun and unique with lots of packs and no budget

I’m confused as to why she bought a new mail Box when there was already one behind the house that she just needed to move to the front 🤣. anyone else noticed that? Anyway this build came out really cute for a starter.
The cursed thing about it is that she didn't delete the second mailbox, you could still see it near the end, at 11:35 you can still see it in the back left corner of the lot
Mailboxes are free so it didn't effect her money but yeah I noticed that too lmao

Simsie I love love love your channel! Maybe because I'm not in Twitch, I'm not seeing everything you build, but on here it feels like we see that same living room rug/couch combo a lot. I'm sure it's just habit, but I'd love to see you pick even a different swatch, just to change it up and inspire your viewers, too! Just a little constructive criticism, meant with love and support.
Right! she has all the packs all the cc and seeing her not use it bugs me, she had a good budget at first she coudlve used it with the same layout with nicer things and made a diffrent house than she usually does

next time you shoud try by using all the packs. You can find cheaper things using all the packs. I like this challanges but sometime you could change and use more packs.
Eco Lifestyle would’ve helped you a lot, shelving units for 20 and 30

I commented this on the last video before it uploaded, but just going to share again because I think Simsie does read the comments. I was really excited when the budget was just under 35,000. That's a very playable second home, and would be doable without cheats. Then you would have more creative freedom and not just have to keep reusing the same cheapest items and decor. I really wanted to see what you could do with that because I do think you're a talented builder, but I've seen this video before (and I don't just mean because it's reuploaded).

Now make this challenge but with the budget being between 200k and 1 million, this way it will be a lot harder to get the exact budget.
I like these challanges but i would love to see you build a different type of house, different style or something not blue suburbanesque 😬

I really enjoy watching Kayla’s build videos but at a point it gets really boring when it’s the same cheap build with the same objects. Id like to see her actually use the packs or use a higher budget and use other objects. It’s literally the same build over and over.

yep, i get she wants her builds to be obtainable by most people but seriously, a lot of people have sims families with bigger budget (because they play a lot of generation or just use cheats). and about packs, she could use just few packs in one build if she doesn't want to use too many. At this point actually a very specific group of people will download this house and it's always the same specific group...
Yeah definitely. I get she wants people to download them and be able to but I wanna see a cool build or actually see some of the packs. Having a cheap base game build is awesome once in a while but not every single build she does. Hopefully she switches it up a bit
she's been doing this for years i don't think it will change. she seems to enjoy budget challenges but she limits herself to the base game when some packs have cheap items (ex, eco lifestyle). at least they wouldn't look the same. then for base game builds go all out on budget. base game budget houses just don't need to be as frequent as they are

a tip that might help you to better alt-place objects:
there's a cc "shelf" called 'OMSP Shelf' that can be dragged up and down a wall and you can place any item that can be slotted on it. This way you can always get it at a perfect height.

you can also do this with the little square wall shelves in dream home decorator and high school years!! idk if it slots everything but it does help with a lot
I believe she doesn't use it because sometimes the game will mark the build as including CC even if you remove the shelf

If you manage to get within $20 from the budget, that would already be great. Now, lets watch the video.
When on a tight budget, why not use the garbage chutes from City Living ? They cost $0 and never ever get full. When using them, you don't even need any outside trash can.
When terrain painting, there is a slider that set the sharpness of the painting. It's the bottom one. During this build, it's close the the maximum fuzziness. Drag it all the way to the left and the terrain painting will be sharp.
Kayla I love you but it's so annoying when you set your min and max to a certain number on purpose, and then when you get a number close to that, you decide not to use it. Like the point is it's RANDOM 🤦🏻♀
Do a challenge where you spend the most money you can while still keeping the build and interior realistic (i.e. NOT a mansion). Have a really high spending goal!

Build suggestions :
Dollhouse build : Rooms need to be of same size 4x4 for example,need to have minimum of two floors,back of the house must have no walls (like the dollhouse sims use).
Tetris build : Each room must be in shape of the tetris pieces and in different color,build can be flat(one floor) or vertical,pieces must fit with each other(no empty space between allowed).

I don't know if you already did this but you could do something similar for every room. For example if it gives you 10k for a bathroom, you need to furnish the room using all the money. ❤️❤️

Watching this with Kayla checking all the prices on furniture gave me an idea for a challenge. What if you built a house but all the furniture, wallpaper, flooring, doors, windows, stairs and even landscapeing have to cost an even amount.

you can avoid the faded brick terrain paint problem if you turn up the opacity slider and switch to a square brush

Hey Kayla! On the annoying fading of the brick terrain paint, you can change the fading/opacity on the edges. There’s a lil slider under the size sliders. I love your videos btw!!!

I think the terrain paint has the option for faded and more sharp look it's like the slider on the bottom, I'm not 100% sure if it is true but it used to be before the terraforming update, so I hope this helps

This made me think of a new build challenge idea! Okay so you spin the first time for the starting budget for the house, for example, you get 18,000. You start building and set a timer for 5-10 minutes. When the timer goes off, you spin for the budget of the house again, and get 4000. Then for the next 5-10 minutes you have to build based on THAT budget. So you could wind up with like a really GRAND dining room with an 82,000 budget, and then a really shitty kitchen with an 800 budget. Or worse, right in the middle of a room, have to change the budget
I like to delete the stair wall inside, I like the little empty space! I can fill it with clutter and make it look like a little storage spot lol

simsie is literally my comfort youtuber.
I know most people aren't being outwardly mean here but the amount of comments telling her to make something different or that her builds are boring is a bit much. She uploads daily on her main channel, pretty much daily on her 2nd, and streams daily. We get all of this content for free and Simsie is consistently upbeat and kind. I understand people trying to give constructive criticism, but let's not create a negative echochamber.

You do such great things with builds in the Sims. You should do more shell things so people like me who suck at building can just download a shell and decorate. lol

Use the brick or rocks terrain paint on the hard setting and square brush. Then carefully delete to clear up the edges and then use a fine or smaller fencing along edge to define it even more!

I'm like halfway through the video and all the sudden my brain goes "it's the bear necessities, the simple bear necessities"
Use the square terrain paint tool and then make it sharp by using the eraser tool!!!
