I also struggled with the rhythm, but then found it developing quite nicely. What helped me was to write it out, indicating where I should accent my strums. It's 16th notes, the first section like this: DudUduDuduDUDudu: accents should be done on the up or down strums shown here in capitals.

I am feeling fine and hope you are Madeleine! Everyday I do what I can to make the world a better place. I believe that if we all did more of that things will be just fine! You got them picks from D'addario didn't you? I've been loving D'addario strings for 40 years now. Before that it was D'merle-D'angelico. (I believe they went out of business in the 70's.) I've never used anything else.
