Contrary to all the unreliable information i see on social media, I really appreciate all the advice in this show. Y’all always make sure to explain why you believe in what you do and i can tell it’s really what you think and not a far fetched scheme to gain an audience.

This content was so helpful. As a Soldier in the U.S. Army, I particularly like the conversation about strength at an older age towards the end of the podcast. Mainly because the new Army Combat Fitness Test is a test to determine how physically fit Soldiers are. This means everyone, no matter the age, has to perform exercises that are entirely different from the previous test consisting of push-ups, sit-ups, and a two-mile run. The new ACFT events are a 3-rep maximum deadlift, standing power throw(10lbs medicine ball toss overhead backward), hand-release push-up, sprint, drag, carry, plank, and a two-mile run.

After 15 years of terrible auto immune from a bad anthrax Vax being almost bed ridden I was 320lbs. I went on an elimination diet as a last resort. Settled on carnivore and after a month I felt so good I bought a bike 9 months and 80lbs later I got hit by a car and decided mountain biking would be better so at 49 years old I learned how to down hill mountain bike. Lost another 30lbs and then I tore up my shoulder and realized if I wanted to keep riding cause I absolutely love it I needed to start weight training again. I had no clue how much muscle I lost along with the weight! So I rehabbed my shoulder and got back into the gym for the first time in 20 years. I do everything I can to work on my mtb skills and to move correctly on and off the bike. I focus my weight training to bring up my weaknesses. Glad I found you guys you've been a great help and I love to listen to guys just chit chat! I've cut my riding back and focused more on lifting and I've actually added 15lbs of lean muscle back without adding body fat in the last six months. I'd argue that if you truly love a sport you can do it in a way were it can be really beneficial to your health and longevity! That is of course of I don't fall off a mountain! 🤣

I've been trying to run again. I enjoyed going for runs a lot when I was younger. I started again by watching videos of people like Eluid Kipchoge, Usain Bolt, Emma Coburn, Meseret Defar. Studying their techniques, foot strikes, body posture, breathing. Then I graduated to running on the spot a couple of times. Eventually I started slow jogging. Now I'm picking up the pace and speed and distance. I only go about once a week, but I enjoy it for an endurance activity and it's kind of meditative for me.

You guys are the best! I’ve been resistance training for about 2 months now, following your recommendations, and I’ve had some great results so far. I’m getting ready to switch gears into more endurance based training for a few months to get myself ready for a big paintball game in July. Hopefully I can surprise my teammates by being in a bit better shape this year. Thanks for sharing so much knowledge!

Took me awhile to get out of that mindset once I was done with football and began coaching. I coached Regular people with the thought that athletic training was the way to go. Didn’t take long before I had to adjust. And now I coach nearly all athletes and realize just how many issues they carry that I am needing to correct, not just focusing on their performance

I’ve been listening for about a year now and just bought the Starter pack. I listen to you all while I workout and have shared your podcast with many of my gym friends. I am currently studying to become a certified sports nutritionist and hope to also add personal trainer to my resume. The information you share has made me rethink my own workouts and understand so many things about training for longevity and health. Thank you for what you all do to share this valuable information to help people train smart.
I also listened to Sal on The Genius Life podcast and enjoyed that so much that I listened twice!!

I’m 5’11” 260lbs 37yrs. I’m currently on week 3 MAPS Anabolic. I have done so many “fad diets” I lose 30lbs and it comes right back. I’m trusting the system of MindPump this time around for life change.
A view things I have learned:
    1. The Compass Test revealed my lack of mobility. I have been focusing on the zones.
    2. I had to change my eating habits. (Chicken, rice, potatoes, etc). I started to meal prep. High protein :) from foods.
    3. I still haven’t found a sustainable and consistent way to track macronutrients. (Meal prep has helped)
    4. I follow the blueprint 2-3 foundational workouts a week depending on soreness and walk when I can. (Trigger sessions 🔥)
I already feel stronger, have more energy and my clothes feel better. 5lbs down so far 🦾

Starting a 5x5 routine with one of my buddies tonight. Time to finally commit.
I'm not necessarily out of shape, but I do have belly fat that I'm trying g to get rid of as well as building a good base for strength.
At my work we install custom heavy doors and windows and building my strength would really help out.
Thanks for all the videos guys keep it up.

With a single gopher the water jug trick works for me. For multiple I’ll adopt a cat from a buddies ranch. Those suckers are border line feral. Set them in a cage next to the gopher hole and they understand the assignment. Sometimes they run off and become alley cats but if I can cage them again back to the ranch they go.

Love you guys, the content you put out and your programs. I started playing pickleball a year ago just to have a new fun hobby and for the socialization. I do weight training 3 days a week (currently Anabolic) and play pickleball on the weekends. Typically 4 to 8 hours of pickleball on the weekends. This has helped me mentally but I don't want to undo my strength training. It was good to hear if you do the sportfor the sport keep it up because that has been a question Ihave struggled with.

I’m curious what Sal thinks about kids in sports. 🤔 I’m sure he’s seen the research on sleep and how kids in America don’t typically get enough. ADHD symptoms are often found with children who don’t get enough sleep. Sleep is so vital to the growth and health of children!
My kids get 10-12 hours of sleep at night. Should I put them in sports that take away from their sleep, especially if it’s 2-3 nights of it?
I’m really having a hard time figuring this out and advice from someone who values health would be priceless!

    Hi guys,
    Great show as usual.
Sal, the reason you drank all that water after the dim sum could be because they used MSG. I love love love dim sum, but can't eat it much because of that. The manager at my favorite dim sum place told me they need to add some MSG for the dim sums, so...
