    In this video, I am showing the stages it takes to do the internal and external installation at customer's premises.

    Cool vid, tidy installation. Out of interest, is there a limit to how many Virgin devices can be run off the one coaxial feed to the property? We've currently got a splitter outside, sending one feed upstairs and one to the lounge, then at each end, an Internet/TV splitter indoors for TV and SuperHub

    • @markoneill3553
      @markoneill3553 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's not really a limit as such just the longer the cable and more times its split the less signal your going to get off the cable. As long as your signal at the back of each piece of equipment is between -6 and +10 dB then your service will work fine

    Hardest bit is planning the optical cable run from outside to the house. Once that's done this is piss easy.

      give me external work over internal any day. Lots of obstacles for internal work unless you're a cowboy and just chuck everything on the other side of the ETB internally and then customer calls in only getting wifi in one quarter of the house because it wasn't put in the middle as it should be. External is far easier... Here's a spade and a saw.

      As far as you want within reason. Depends on the signal level of your cable. For every 10ft of rg6 coaxial you lose 2db signal

    • @YouTubeSupportTeams
      @YouTubeSupportTeams 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markoneill3553 you wouldn't lose anything on 10ft of rg6. You'd need to double that. Rf levels can be brought into spec with HDU or at tap. Failing that an rg11 repull to house in highly extreme case. The biggest problem is how far the set top box is from the Superhub.

    • @markoneill3553
      @markoneill3553 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It won't always be a socket (even though it should be) it could also just be a cable coming through the wall if the technician who did the job is a lazy git. Itll normally be white cable (as that's used for internal runs mostly) with a silver connector with normally a little yellow or black sticker arpund the top or if its older connector doesn't always have a sticker could be like a black rubber. Screw it into back of your hub and switch it on. If after 1 min you get green arrows flashing then bottom light goes white that means your hub should connect. But doesn't mean your cable is in spec. You'd need a technician to check that or log into your hub and check downstream and upstream levels.

    • @YouTubeSupportTeams
      @YouTubeSupportTeams 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      surely to god common sense would have told you to look for the socket when/before you ordered? as it would have explained what you need to do to connect your quickstart kit up. common sense is definitely not common, keeps me in a job at least
