I'm in a production of Turandot as an auxiliary member of the chorus (I'm not a professional, so working in a professional environment for the first time is exciting), and I'm so in love with this opera!! It's so good, I'm so bummed about the unfinished ending but that doesn't detract from how good it is! I specifically love the trio of Ping, Pang and Pong. They just brighten up the first two acts, only to turn around and show a more sinister or desperate face in the third act. And Liù's arias are such a beautifully sensitive contrast to the harsher or more heroic tone of some of the other characters
You are simply brilliant. Now do The Ring next. And my guilty pleasure: Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel. And what’s up with Arnold George Dorsey?
You are objectively wrong about Fanciulla. Despite the lack of showpiece arias the scene between Minnie and Johnson is unlike anything else in opera and the scene when she arrives to save him at the end... I like Turandot but I don't like how casually they throw away Liu.... and the end is kind of a letdown.
im rocker of pink floyd, genesis etc and my girlfriend turn me on to opera especially to puccini i just love his music. i love your reaction and hope you continue to other favourite of mine also is verdi.

You are so so great and I like the way you explain things for a lay person! Very funny too!
