Great video again Colin - funny about the plastic being removed from the seats - they won't be used for probably at least 6 months .....they'll get pretty dusty by then I reckon .
They had to remove the plastic covers to add the seat numbers. The seats are designed to last many years and are somewhat protected by the roof (north east and east stand lower tier seats are most at risk from the prevailing weather).
Thanks for the update, Colin. PoI's: 1) At 0:54 and 7:08 mins, we can see that they have fitted the top edge fascia to the NE third of the North Roof. 2) At 3:17 mins, we can see that they're still busy pumping water from Nelson Dock to Sandon Dock. The water in Nelson Dock is freshwater (a darker blue) and that in Sandon Dock is seawater (a lighter, blue-green). The seawater in Sandon Dock is not as stirred up as in the estuary and it will not be carrying anything like the same amount of sediment, which is why the estuary appears brownish, not blue-green. Next to the Dam, it'll be brackish water due to the fresh water being pumped into Sandon's seawater under the North Isolation Bridge. 3) At 3:39 mins onwards, it's not easy to see the gradients of the water-effect flags laid in front of the south terrace tunnel, when viewed from above, except if you look really closely at the very bottom face of the lowest terrace there. The flags are on a gradient down, south of the clear break-line that is roughly halfway between the central and southern terrace tunnels. 4) At 5:29 mins, yes, clearly weeds. 5) At 8:27, another weed growing between the base of the SW corner of the Pump House and the old dock wall Granite Coping Stones. 6) I'm fairly sure that the scaffold towers that have been migrating around the tier-break from the SE corner to the NW corner, so far, are for Lecky's to install fittings along the underside of the upper tier front edge, even though I've never spotted a single contractor on them. The question is whether any such 'fittings' are for lighting or for advert screens that will probably be mounted on the front 'kick-board/wall' of the upper tier. 7) At 15:49 mins, that's a massive toolbox/workstation. 8) I wonder IF the panels that will be affixed to the SW and SE ends of the Viewing Gallery are currently stored on the SW Quay of Nelson Dock, as many of the barrel-cladding panel sections were? 9) At 17:36 mins, I wonder if the contractor in the orange cherry-picker was about to do some preparation work for the remaining top-edge coving/soffits/fascia of the SE end of the South Stand window.
Thanks David, that explains the various shades of water colours that has been bugging my wife for ages ! So if the water from Sandon Dock is coming in the waterway one end and the water from nelson dock the other end is Nelson dock just going to end up Seawater?
Wondering where the safe standing is, assuming as its a new PL stadium it will have some? Looking good though. Cant wait to visit next season and we came up last weekend presumably for the last time to Goodison
I'm not an Everton fan but surely that's close enough to completion to be used this season from early next year rather than only at the start of next season
The first test events were planned for January but have no idea if they are still on track for that. Otherwise Everton decided to finish the season off at Goodison and give it the send off it deserves.
Giving Goodison ‘the send off she deserves’ is sentimental nonsense from the club. We won’t upset ‘her’ if we leave when Bramley Moore is ready, which is what we should do. Madness to leave this magnificent new stadium unused for months, especially in our dire financial situation
My thoughts are that if you are still struggling with your league position would you want to suddenly start playing at the new stadium mid season when it will be unfamiliar and historically most teams struggle at first when they move to a new stadium. Now if your mid table that would be a different story and im sure you could move and then just go back to Goodison for the last game as planned.
@@cp-overview We’re likely to still be struggling to win at Goodison though, so it won’t make any difference, we might as well move when the stadium is ready
Pete: My guess is that it's specially treated sand. For the species of grass they'll use, they won't want the sand to be salty, as the sand taken from the Irish Sea will have been.
None, it may have already happened for all we know, unless one of the drone fliers gets lucky and is above when it happens, we might only find out when it appears on one of Everton’s videos
Hello Colin, I Assume the big black pipes around all the pitch are where the rainwater somehow runs off the pitch through the Lego plastic blocks? I cant get my head around how they all can connect to the pipes it seems impossible. Does anybody know or do you have early footage? The second thing is how they will fill in all the breaks in the old dock wall in the plaza. Near the pumphouse they have done it with flags which looks awful but in other places bricks which looks much better Thanks John
It’s exactly like you think, the membrane under the Lego blocks is a water barrier so it all drains right through to the membrane and into the pipes. Don’t quote me on this next bit but I’m sure I read that they also can vacuum the pipes to create suction under the pitch to draw the water out or reverse it and keep water in. The dock wall has only been replaced with coping to match the original, but will take a few years to weather in. It’s only in brick type blocks next to the original wall.
Much as Colin has stated, John. Re the drainage: mostly it's down to gravity. The water is allowed to migrate down into the black plastic cellular matrix, by natural gravity, as the layers above are all good drainage medium. The matrix acts both as a small reservoir but the excess will gradually make its way to the edges of the pitch between the bottom of the grid and the membrane layer, as the pitch is cambered, like at GP. Then the pipes can draw away large quantities from the edge. It's why you haven't seen a large network of water outflow pipes across the pitch itself, only the 6 or so inflow pipes that connect to the pitch sprayers.
They are under the roof, was installed a long time ago now, you can’t see them from a drone, you would have to trawl through older videos from about a year ago to find them
Richard: this is a question that crops up every now and then and a little surprising as they were fitted autumn a year ago, with a specific EFC video noting them last November. You CAN see just a few of them in this video. Remember that modern LED lights do not need to be large in size and they are quite small objects not much larger than an ANPR camera. they are in groups of 3-5 depending on where they are located in the stadium but they are all located on the top front edge of the innermost safety rail of the walkway that travels through the roof trusses on all four stands. Look closely at 14:21 mins here and you can see a group of 4 towards the NW corner, to the left of the large Screen. You can also see a few along the West Stand walkway if you look really closely. The next question you might ask is if they've all been tested and the answer is that they have all been tested individually or by groups for on/off but not yet set to ensure a uniform light level on every part of the pitch, as the pitch has always had equipment moving about on it. I doubt they will get a full throttle blast until sometime after the pitch is bedded so that they can place light detection monitors at every point to determine if the light levels are consistent right across the pitch and they will modify the positioning and angles of the lights accordingly.
Farrrr too many disabled sections. We could’ve fitted another 2/3000 seats if it wasn’t for them. I don’t see any other prem club which caters for the disabled in such a way.
About 0.6% of the fans at BMD will be wheelchair users. That’s around the league average. There’s absolutely no chance the capacity could be increased by 2,000-3,000 if the wheelchair platforms were replaced with seats.
There are minimum requirements for disabled supporters that clubs have to adhere to if possible so as it’s a new stadium they would definitely have to reach that without a doubt
Thanks very much 👍

is that lower root zone the sand that was dug out from the water way or is it more of a specific type of material that will be used
I would think it is something more specific but I’m sure someone will be along with the correct answer.

When should we expect the canal/waterway to be completed? Some are saying by winter time.
Autumn - probably October. It’ll be filled very gradually.
It will certainly be before December as the site is handed over to Everton then.
Are they still going to have a black finnish on the east & west stand roofs?
Dark grey sealant screeding will be applied to the flat concrete roofs below the barrel cladding
