Infact, orfibary superfast trains like 12110 Panchavati exp., & 12140 sewagram sf exp is given preferance over 12262 duranto exp. Passengers in duranto exp. Pay huge sums for. their tickets. But, duranto exp.runs 4 hours late in both direvtions. If, Railways can not run Duranto on time they have no right to charge Premium fare. Accountability should be mandatory. If duranto runs 3 to 4 hrs late regularly, then Premium fare should be refunded.

One of the best Duronto service running is between Bengaluru and Kolkata, such a live saver!!! I would say it's the life line for the passengers and great service, the 1st option. Just wish food would have been better...
Is train ko politics ki vajah se janbujhkar khatm kiya Gaya.. before 2014 this train was unique and premium. This was the only train in India in normal non AC sleeper coaches they used to provide bedrolls and food which was already included in tickets. Duronto express used to overtake rajdhani express as well.. fastest best. Now everything is gone it is just like normal express now. Only Nagpur Mumbai Duronto express is maintaining its dignity.. travel time is same.

End to end journey should be done by air. Railways looses lot of revenue without halts. Trains are meant for stopping over few stops after some distances. Same is the case why bullet train makes sense when we have so much air traffic between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Times and infrastructures have changed since 20 years.
I guess Stoppages were added in Durontos because Durontos were running in a loss. I still remember taking a journey from Delhi to Kolkata in Sealdah Duronto (end to end journey)... In my coach, more than 3/4th seats were vacant throughout the journey.. So with just 1/4th passenger occupancy, obviously Duronto was running at a loss.

Last February I travelled on Shalimar - Patna Duronto Express,It has only one halt Asansol Junction.But that train doesn't provide any catering services and takes the same time as another train for this route. But for dynamic fare you have to pay extra fare than another train. I saw the Shalimar Patna Duronto express runs with 1 Duronto livery coach & 4-5 of Humsafar coach & other red khb coach. Before the train runs with ICF Duronto coaches, then it has some sleeper coaches but after lhbfication Indian railways remove the sleeper coaches. I think Duronto livery doesn't come back with newly manufactured lhb coach.

i have travelled in the best duronto the 12275/76 prayagraj to new delhi duronto which is replaced by humsafar now also they increased the travel time by 20 minutes duronto was 20 minutes fater than humsafar.

Ministry of Railways should concentrate more on *improving* existing trains rather than introducing new trains which benefit comparatively only few of the total travelers on Indian Railways. Many coaches are in deplorable condition. Services of food and cleaning staff is terrible. The Minister and top Officials should conentrate on existing rolling stock rather than boasting about their new toy, Vande Bharat Express. If the attidude does not change, some years ahead Vande Bharat too will go the Duronto way. Undoubtedly.

Indian railways has not revised train fares since 2014. Because revising fares is a politically difficult decision. Everybody will start calling it anti poor. At the same time railways also faces the challenge of AC class travellers switching to flights if AC class fares are increased. As a result something has to fall. Like food quality.
We can't expect maintained quality and services in trains for a long time, because India is a democratic country just on paper. Actually, it is a political country.

भइया एक बात बताएँ की पहले Train Track को joint करने के लिए Fish plate का use किया जाता था और कुछ MM का gap रखा जाता था ताकि गर्मी मे पटरी फैले नही और ठंड मे सिकुड़े नही। जो की एक सार्थक कारण भी है। तो अब नई line बीछाने के लिए Wielding तकनीक का use करके पटरी को एक दूसरे से बिना gap के क्यों जोड़ा जाता है। अर्थात पटरी को permanent welding क्यों किया जाता है क्या इससे पटरी के फैलने सिकुड़ने की समस्या नही आयेगी?

I liked the decision as from Bangalore to Bhubaneswar in Duronto can reach in 22.5 hrs whereas other trains take 25-33hrs

Is train ko politics ki vajah se janbujhkar khatm kiya Gaya.. before 2014 this train was unique and premium. This was the only train in India in normal non AC sleeper coaches they used to provide bedrolls and food which was already included in tickets. Duronto express used to overtake rajdhani express as well.. fastest best. Now everything is gone it is just like normal express now. Only Nagpur Mumbai Duronto express is maintaining its dignity.. travel time is same.

Increasing of Commercial Stops in Duronto had made this train like a normal express train and even this train don't get priority during its journey

End to end journey should be done by air. Railways looses lot of revenue without halts. Trains are meant for stopping over few stops after some distances. Same is the case why bullet train makes sense when we have so much air traffic between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Times and infrastructures have changed since 20 years.

I guess Stoppages were added in Durontos because Durontos were running in a loss. I still remember taking a journey from Delhi to Kolkata in Sealdah Duronto (end to end journey)... In my coach, more than 3/4th seats were vacant throughout the journey.. So with just 1/4th passenger occupancy, obviously Duronto was running at a loss.

Last February I travelled on Shalimar - Patna Duronto Express,It has only one halt Asansol Junction.But that train doesn't provide any catering services and takes the same time as another train for this route.
But for dynamic fare you have to pay extra fare than another train.
I saw the Shalimar Patna Duronto express runs with 1 Duronto livery coach & 4-5 of Humsafar coach & other red khb coach. Before the train runs with ICF Duronto coaches, then it has some sleeper coaches but after lhbfication Indian railways remove the sleeper coaches.
I think Duronto livery doesn't come back with newly manufactured lhb coach.

That's right, I had seen soup being served between evening snacks and dinner in Rajdhani and Duronto but that has been completely discontinued.
Recently I have travelled by Howrah Pune and Howrah Mumbai Duranto the food is in worst condition as well as train condition of coaches in worst condition.
Perfect example of how greed for more money can destroy a great product!

I have travelled in many durontos but most of them has lost their glory like hwh ndls(12774) and hwh cst(12661).These trains have lost the charm, speed and punctuality but only 3 duronto's have maintained their glory hwh-smvb (12245) and sealdah-puri(22201) these trains have still maintained their glory.puri duronto is still the king of hwh-puri route after vande Bharat,this duronto still reaches puri before time even after having no slack time and has only two stops in entire route of 518 kms:).

i have travelled in the best duronto the 12275/76 prayagraj to new delhi duronto which is replaced by humsafar now also they increased the travel time by 20 minutes duronto was 20 minutes fater than humsafar.

Ministry of Railways should concentrate more on *improving* existing trains rather than introducing new trains which benefit comparatively only few of the total travelers on Indian Railways. Many coaches are in deplorable condition. Services of food and cleaning staff is terrible. The Minister and top Officials should conentrate on existing rolling stock rather than boasting about their new toy, Vande Bharat Express. If the attidude does not change, some years ahead Vande Bharat too will go the Duronto way. Undoubtedly.

Indian railways has not revised train fares since 2014. Because revising fares is a politically difficult decision. Everybody will start calling it anti poor. At the same time railways also faces the challenge of AC class travellers switching to flights if AC class fares are increased.
As a result something has to fall. Like food quality.

भइया एक बात बताएँ की पहले Train Track को joint करने के लिए Fish plate का use किया जाता था और कुछ MM का gap रखा जाता था ताकि गर्मी मे पटरी फैले नही और ठंड मे सिकुड़े नही। जो की एक सार्थक कारण भी है।
तो अब नई line बीछाने के लिए Wielding तकनीक का use करके पटरी को एक दूसरे से बिना gap के क्यों जोड़ा जाता है। अर्थात पटरी को permanent welding क्यों किया जाता है क्या इससे पटरी के फैलने सिकुड़ने की समस्या नही आयेगी?
