Great fix Chris. Very clever to do the crank sensor too. It saves a bunch of work for the future! Please, top off the gearbox oil at the correct temperature. Have a great day, Dutch regards, Nico.
Looks like Goose had fun. Getting no crank no start on my 08 335 n54 so new starter. Watched your video. Awesome job everything I needed to know without telling us about your favorite screwdriver 🪛 or other useless information. 😂 thanks man 👍
Did it turn out to be your starter I also have no start no crank everything comes on and i just installed a new battery and coded it. Al I get is 1 click sound when I try to start it
Haha thanks mate! Nice to hear some encouragement, I know maintenance can be a little boring sometimes. Misfires are easy to solve, send me a DM maybe I can help you diagnose it!
@@TheBimmerBarn hey Chris. I’m new to Florida and Orlando..I’ve got a few bimmers which looks a lot like your garage, including the wagon! Lol so I’ll be following all your builds and maintenance projects.
Those were stickers I ended up removing. Kinda looks cool from a distance but from inside the car it's a bit shiny. You can probably find them on Amazon or ebay!
Perhaps the next owner will get into tuning, lots of options and preferences, but I wouldn't say it adds value to the car unfortunately. Unless I can find a good deal on a used JB4! And thanks for being a part of our history, Zach!
Yeah exactly that problem. You wanna make sure you have good voltage first, but when these starters fail they also store a fault code in the CAS. Thanks for watching and good luck mate!
Trade you! haha they need to be re-cleared, but I think my friend Max is looking to sell them and get some OEM wheels. Maybe E92 M3 wheels, which would look sick.
I like to use a pry bar, you can get it between the intake runner, or leverage around the throttle body area, and pry the box off of the fork that it's sitting on. Hope that helps!
Lmao I actually forgot to do it completely, and when I went to start the car for the first time I realized it immediately and fixed it 😅 but thanks to some clever editing, it all worked out in the end 👌
i have a huge problem (i guess) i got a bmw 335i n54 2007 automatic gear box And 1 week ago i had fuel issue, because i did a modification on my fuel tank pump, on the climbing road (fuel pump sucking more air instead of gasoline) That night i insisted even so running my engine like 10 times, i insisted with the starter till it stopped(my fault) Trying to run the engine i could hear a noise like ''dling''or'' tling'' coming from the engine compartment (that noment the starter wont kick) i replaced the starter by a new complete one and also replaced the battery by a new one i still hear the ''tling or dling'' and engine still won't start What could it be?
My starter is not coming out after removing the bolts. Think it is the corrosion. I have tried spraying WD 40, and prying with a flathead. Could the teeth be stuck to the flywheel? If not what else should I do, if someone can pls suggest
The teeth retract when the starter isn't spinning, so it's just the corrosion with the transmission housing. Tap it loose with a hammer and then pry it the rest of the way out! good luck :)

Thanks Nico, and yes, that sensor's definitely going to save someone a headache in the future! :))
love the maintenance DIYs. And the 335i will be a great car when you are finished.
I think so too! Engine is going to be very healthy and efficient.

Keep the n54 videos coming! I’ll be following as I try to sort out my n54 misfire. Love the Christmas tree lights on the dash!! Lol

Congrants on getting to a 1000 subs, keep up the good work!
Any plans on getting more power out of this thing?

Just hit the same problem sheesh hopefully it works did u have no start and no crank cause that’s how mine is rn

How did you take off the junction box underneath the manifold? I fought with it for two hours before giving up for today?

Dang why you didn’t show how you connect the starter solenoid

Awesome! you just showed how to replace your starter, no how to step by step replace a starter. smh
