I love that "sports car" feeling, almost a "Monaco GP" vibe... ...while driving a 50hp car, going for supermarket. Life is the delightful illusion that you set for yourself.
Once a year, the people of a nomadic culture known as "motorheads" make the monthly pilgrimage to a certain spot in the internet containing their precious holy site. They take a seat, look up and witness the phenomenon of Jamiroquai pulling out some award winning funk combined with the classiest set of cars in music video history.
I genually think that it's just the best video clip ever been made. A man just jumps into his car and drives having fun. Try to live your life the same way: just do what you like, and amaze people by it.
They destroyed a purple Lamborghini Diablo by accident, before shooting of the video began. The driver that had taken it by road from UK to the mountain roads unfortunately forgot to pull the handbrake and it fell over a cliff edge and got totalled. And angry Jay Kay had to find a replacement quick; he bought the only identical model by a private seller back in UK, and that's the car you are seeing in the finished video :-)
drumstick74 I must be mistaken then. Diablo was THE poster car of the 90s like the Countach in the 80s. I dug out my old car mags thinking I read it in a column but couldn't find anything about it. Psychic? Peace bro.
In the video about the making of this video on the "High Times" compilation DVD, they talk about that. That's why the Diablo has no windshield in some of the shots. He was PISSED!!
@@PhantomDragonEternal Not quite. The FIRST one was a complete damage. The SECOND one (the one in the video) had a camera flown through the windshield. So, they actually managed to ruin 2 Lamborghinis for this video.

Girl Boss Bruno Mars is very good actually. And Maroon 5 are OK. But I feel Jamiroquai were masters of their craft and conquered that disco+rock+funky sound that many artists are trying so desperately to reinvent today. All I’m saying is, until today’s producers understand that it’s impossible to create sounds like this in a computer, bands like this will always sound better.
I remember listening to this in the 90s. My brother and I had classes at around the same time at the junior college, Chabot College. I had recorded a bunch of songs on cassette. When he heard this, he was like, "This sounds Brazilian." Lol. Good times. Good vibes. Good memories. 🎂
I'm scannin' all my radars, when she said she's from a quasar, 40,000 million light years away. The bassist is mad cool, with a great sound in "Space Cowboy". Moving at cheeba cheeba speed. I always loved Jamiroquai.
@@michaeledwards5241 I've been thinking about this... The music is synthesizer heavy. So the violins, keys, drum machine, effects all synth. Most of the work is done by the synthesizer. So the Bassist was being treated unfairly because his instrument wasn't getting paid well. This is what kills bands. He was writing the bass lines I am sure and the synth was taking his bass lines and organizing around him. Then you pay the bassist less, he finds hot woman and see you later dude... I'm out... He should be playing with Jeff Beck.

Lyrics:
I must've died and gone to heaven
'Cause it was a quarter past eleven
On a Saturday in 1999
Right across from where I'm standing
On the dance floor she was landing
It was clear that she was from another time
Like some baby Barbarella
With the stars as her umbrella
She asked me if I'd like to magnetize
Do I have to go star-trekking
'Cause it's you I should be checking
So she laser beamed me with her cosmic eyes
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world
Putting me in ecstasy
Transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
I'm scanning all my radars
We'll she said she's from a quasar
Forty thousand million light years away
It's a distant solar system
I tried to phone but they don't list 'em
So I asked her for a number all the same
She said, step in my transporter
So I can teleport ya
All around my heavenly body
This could be a close encounter
I should take care not to flounder
Sends me into hyperspace, when I see her pretty face
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world
Putting me in ecstasy
Transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
Sends me into hyperspace when I see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when I see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when I see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when I see her pretty face
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
Transmitting on my frequency yeah cosmic, oh
Can't you be my cosmic woman?

The first CD that I bought because of the brilliant songs and these amazing videos.
It's strange to have experienced so much awesome in my teens (36 now, in 2021). Damn, what I would give to hear this for the first time again!
and virtual insanity
The undoubted highlight of the band's career. I guess the album mentioned broke new ground.
Recordando mi adolescencia con esta canción!! Estaba feliz con mi CD escuchándola en mi Discman. Genial Jamiroquai!!!
0:18 This is also the video location for "Cloud 9" off his "Automaton" album several years later!
Jamiroqai ist fantastisch ❤
Muss anderen gar nicht liken, denn Jamiroqai ist und bleibt fantastisch.ich liebe diese Band seit 30 Jahren.
Rest Peace Toby, you still the soul of Jamiroquai i never heard a Keyboard player like you...

Did not know. Sadness
R.I.P. Toby Smith he did a lot more for Jamiroquai than people know
I love that "sports car" feeling, almost a "Monaco GP" vibe...
...while driving a 50hp car, going for supermarket.
Life is the delightful illusion that you set for yourself.
🤣🤣🤣🤣💀
Once a year, the people of a nomadic culture known as "motorheads" make the monthly pilgrimage to a certain spot in the internet containing their precious holy site. They take a seat, look up and witness the phenomenon of Jamiroquai pulling out some award winning funk combined with the classiest set of cars in music video history.
The video recording is Cabo de Gata, Almeria, Spain. 💯
As a child, listening these tracks was amazing. Still timeless & ahead of time! Jazzy n funky. ❤️🔥
Brutal death metal-y and satanic-y.
I've been sleeping on this man for decades now. Glad I am mature enough now to really feel this. Jamiroquai is a whole entire vibe for me now!
I genually think that it's just the best video clip ever been made. A man just jumps into his car and drives having fun. Try to live your life the same way: just do what you like, and amaze people by it.
Saw you live many years ago! Best concert in my life. After Michael Jackson🥰 really best
I'm a japanese fan with poor english. I practiced singing this song over and over, and now singing along jk is very fun.
Good job, my love! Congratulations! ♥️♥️
ガンバレ!
English Soft-Power at it's finest. Congrats mate.
Much love to Japan 🇯🇵 from Scotland 🏴
Great choice!
They destroyed a purple Lamborghini Diablo by accident, before shooting of the video began. The driver that had taken it by road from UK to the mountain roads unfortunately forgot to pull the handbrake and it fell over a cliff edge and got totalled. And angry Jay Kay had to find a replacement quick; he bought the only identical model by a private seller back in UK, and that's the car you are seeing in the finished video :-)
drumstick74 I knew this, where did you hear or read this? I don't know how I know it but I think there's more to the story...
+brandon
I heard Jay Kay himself tell the story in an interview in the 90s.
drumstick74 I must be mistaken then.
I must've died and gone to heaven
Cos it was a quarter past eleven
On a saturday in 1999
Right across from where i'm standing
On the dance floor she was landing
It was clear that she was from another time
Like some baby barbarella
With the stars as her umbrella
She asked me if i'd like to magnetise
Do i have to go star trekking
Cos it's you i should be checking
So she lazer beamed me with her cosmic eyes
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world
Putting me in ecstasy
Transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
I'm scanning all my radars
We'll she said she's from a quasar
Forty thousand million light years away
It's a distant solar system
I tried to phone but they don't list 'em
So i asked her for a number all the same
She said, step in my transporter
So i can teleport ya
All around my heavenly body
This could be a close encounter
I should take care not to flounder
Sends me into hyperspace, when i see her pretty face
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
My heart's at zero gravity
She's from a cosmic world
Putting me in ecstasy
Transmitting on my frequency
She's cosmic
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
Sends me into hyperspace when i see her pretty face
She's just a cosmic girl
From another galaxy
Transmitting on my frequency yeah cosmic, oh
Can't you be my cosmic woman?
I need you, i want you to be my cosmic girl
For the rest of time (fade)

Thanks 🎶
it says the lyrics in the description.
LOOKING FOR PAULA, MY KOZMIK MAN,.....YTS REAL, SHAMEMAN.......
Reminds me that we all have far to go in an uncertain world but cars were a great way to find your way ... always loved em
Uma banda atemporal nunca envelhece que vibe meu Deus🥰❤️
jamiroquai is one of the best music artists out there, and its probs gonna stay that way forever
20 years and those cars are still awesome (especially the F40!)
they are classics..I love the diablo tho
If only there was a DLC event/race in any of the current racing videogames in which the only selectable and participating cars were the red Ferrari F40, the black Ferrari F355 GTS and the purple Lamborghini Diablo SE30 as a tribute to this awesome song
They had to replace the Diablo bc it was crashed during filming (fun fact)
pure Sound ,pure bagnole , petit bonjour de France 👍
thank you so much for bringing me back my favorite pure 70's DISCO in the middle of "all electronic " 90's :) :)
This deserves 1B views!! Just amazing, 90s memories ❤
One of the most under rated songs of all time
How exactly, is this 'underrated'?
over shaddowed by Virtual Insanity. dont get me wrong it was a good song but there were better Jamiriquai songs in my opinion.
even in hungary, in this shitty little eastern-european country, this song was played by radio stations for years in the late 90s. how would it be underrated?
Noooo that song was big all over the world in the mid 90’s except In America ... but they have Bieber and Gaga now 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is it?
It has been re-upload in 2012 and it's already 66 millions views, the song dates from 1997! Hahaha...
Welcome to our shitty 2022 tho...
Heard this on car radio this morning it was my sister's favourite from jamiroquai. I looked up to the sky where her now Angel form would be dancing 😢❤
I love this song! And I love the nice cars, too! It was a great feeling to sit inside a Lamborghini Diablo! Thank you very much for uploading!
Thank you, Jamiroquai. This is indeed a banging tune!
This brings SO MANY childhood memories, my mom used to play this song when we were coming back home from primary school, today we listened to it on the radio when I came back from high school, and I NEEDED to listen to it again.
He is so underrated a genius ❤
I had forgotten how much I love this video and song-love it! Love it! Love it! Heard he's coming back, much better than most of today's rubbish ❤😀🎼🎵🎶
Q temazos se hacía, en q quedó la música ahora... saludos desde Madrid Spain
Hablando de Spain , este video se grabó en Andalucía.
Listening to this on NYE right now, long live Jamiroquai
it's 2019, and its still a super great song.
I'd be honored if some Jamiroquai fans would take a quick listen to my acoustic keyboard & vocal covers of VIRTUAL INSANITY th-cam.com/video/cMCZVeWyjBo/w-d-xo.html and HIGH & DRY by Radiohead on my YT channel in tribute to 2 of the most forward-thinking 90s bands. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.

This song is timeless
I met my wife on saturday in 1999. Thats our song. But it was arround 12😊 She melted my heart. ❤️ Still love you honey,
Never get tired of this song. Life was better then in so many ways.
I am named after this group. My mom changed a few letters but their music is a whole vibe.
AWESOME
SERIOUSLY
that is really cool idk why
Thank you I get so many compliments from ppl that have heard of them

Maroon 5 and Bruno Mars wet-dream of sounding this good one day.
Bruno Mars has some good songs but those Maroon guys, not so much... I'd be honored if some Jamiroquai & 90s fans would take a listen to my live keyboard & vocal performances of VIRTUAL INSANITY and HIGH & DRY by Radiohead on my YT channel in tribute to 2 of the most forward-thinking 90s bands. Peace out and stay safe.
He's an absolute legend in the UK. If you're into cars, he has a nice sports car collection -- new and old.
Who?!
So true...They are just posers. This guy is 100% real.
Love this musicvideo. Reminds me of good times on the roads. Lovely people, fantastic times. ❤️❤️❤️
I remember listening to this in the 90s. My brother and I had classes at around the same time at the junior college, Chabot College. I had recorded a bunch of songs on cassette. When he heard this, he was like, "This sounds Brazilian." Lol. Good times. Good vibes. Good memories. 🎂
Remember buying this cd single, man getting old hits me hard sometimes.
no entiendo
Loved this tune from day one.
I'm scannin' all my radars, when she said she's from a quasar, 40,000 million light years away. The bassist is mad cool, with a great sound in "Space Cowboy". Moving at cheeba cheeba speed. I always loved Jamiroquai.
The same base player who he wrote “king for a day” about.
@@michaeledwards5241 Interesting story. Many musicians are uncompromising. That bass was sweet.
@@jamesdelcol3701 it’s about when he left the band. He had just met one of the singers from All Saints and the rest is history.
@@jamesdelcol3701 I wouldn't disagree with that at all.
Nice Day ☀️
1st time i saw and listened 2 Jamiroqua was through this song 20 years ago. It was school holidays and my mom recently installed DSTV and it played on VH1. Instantly became a fan.
Song actually reminds me of my mum 😢

He loves faster cars
Yo amo este tema, grande los 90, excelente.
Legendary cars, legendary song, legendary group... Legends.
One of my life goals not just to rock this track in a regular Mercedes-Benz, in a rari or McLaren too. I still get goosebumps just like in my childhood, what a funky song. This is incredible
This was my childhood my father playing Jamiroquai while driving they were my first contact with music I’m proud of it
Exelente artista , musico. Calidad, ritmo, energia positiva. Pasan los años pero su musica sigue viva !!!
This piece is a beautiful look in a world of sad and gray figures all the same.
It is style, it is knowing how to use lyricism, it is knowing how to play instruments, it is freshness and superfine culture. But above all it is not violence and aggression. THIS has been lost.
Black Ferrari F355 GTS, a purple Lamborghini Diablo, and a Red Ferrari F40. What else could you want?
nothing..
