Interesting! I usually 'hear' the harmony when I create melody. It might be more fun and creative to come up with a chord progression and experiment with melody on top of that - is that your process?
I might try melody first and see what I can come up with. Yeah I’ve always done chords first - my hierarchy of important is chords - melody - lyrics. It’s quite interesting that you basically do the opposite. I guess it reflects in both of our music

I never thought about it like that before. Yes I would definitely say lyrics are my top priority, reflects the genre of music theatre and storytelling
