Great help! Loved the video! Did have one question, how did you put the “song bar” in your script, I can’t seem to figure it out..?
@@spencerryan01 I inserted shape, rectangle, filled black. Sent to back so textbox will go Infront. Add text to textbox and colour text white. Hope that helps. Line them up with the rulers.
Awesome video. Helped a lot. Thank you, Sarah!
Hi do you have email address or ins to follow? I want to talk about some writing business with you. We really like your courses and share. Very nice content! Love it ❤

I hate Courier. It's a truly ugly typeface. We don't use typewriters anymore; the thousands of typefaces we have available allow us to break free of the tyranny of the typewriter! Also: 4:48 Veronica's lyric "WE WERE SO TINY HAPPY AND *_SHINNY"?!_* Like the game?! That should probably be "shiny". Whoever typed this was _very_ sloppy.
sup Sarah Great show
it's really help me! Thank you! Pls keep making videos like this :)💪
At first sight of your thumbnail I thought you were in jail 🤣 I was curious how people wrote MUSICALS. Thanks.
This video is going to help me a ton! Thank you!
I love the 6/8, and also the funky piano in bar 74
I love this. Especially bar 38-69. Nice vibrato too :)
Missed this series! Thanks ❤
Great vid!
These are so helpful!!! Thank you so much for what you do-- it really means the world!!!
sez dog I'm ur biggest fan !!!!!!!
I find your approach of melody before chords very intriguing. Great vid!
Interesting! I usually 'hear' the harmony when I create melody. It might be more fun and creative to come up with a chord progression and experiment with melody on top of that - is that your process?
I might try melody first and see what I can come up with. Yeah I’ve always done chords first - my hierarchy of important is chords - melody - lyrics. It’s quite interesting that you basically do the opposite. I guess it reflects in both of our music
I never thought about it like that before. Yes I would definitely say lyrics are my top priority, reflects the genre of music theatre and storytelling
Can confirm that musescore is pretty good for free 😁
Can you teach us how to write a musical script on wattpad please because I want them on wattpad and I what to know how
I have no idea why you don't have more subscribers- as someone writing a musical myself, your videos are an invaluable resource! Thank you so much!!!
Maybe the format is an homage from its film origin.
Thank you
Thanks for posting this!!! I just shaved my head about 2 months ago (for the second time) and its at this awkward length where some hair strands stick up while others lay flat 😭
Underrated!!!
I subscribed
How have i not watched this before !!! I am your biggest fan xx
Great vid thank you 🙏🏾 now I just need to figure out how to do the format 😂
Such a great job with this video. I see you've written your script with word doc? Could you use either final draft or word doc to write musical scripts? I know the majority of non musical scripts it's final draft?
soo good!
Hi :) I have been searching for a long time for the lyrics of this song and can’t find .. Maybe you can send it to me?
Great job, I like a video that summarizes the whole point fast and efficiently. Plus your voice is adorable !
Thank you, very well thought out and put together. Cheers
These songs have been living rent-free in my head for a MONTH straight. Please someone stage this so I can start charging!
Wow!! you really inspire me to try and write a short musical for my group class. I've always wanted to write one but it is hard when you don't know where to start. Thanks a lot, you have a new subscriber!! :)
Thanks so much, I hope it goes well!
very interesting!
thanks for concentrating such large concepts into easy to digest info. Bo Burnham's new special has the same feel of a musical to me through it's uses of reprises; so I thought I would do further research. This was a great video!!
Can I just grow it out without any trims or cuts? Will it be okay?🥺
Of course! It will be totally fine and can be done no problem. That's what i did my first grow out. It just means the bottom will be lower than where the hair at the top hits, sort of like a mullet. If your end goal is to have all your hair lined up like a bob, it won't take longer to grow out if you trim the back though.
Great song! Really captures the beauty of a musical
I love this! Great insight into making a musical. I love that quote!
Thank you so much for making this video, I didn't realize people formatted scripts any other way to be honest! You really inspired me, I already started doing a little reformatting and it feels so much nicer and more unique and more in tune with what my musical is about!
Amazing to hear!!
So helpful!
the songs have no business being this good 😭 and this was a really helpful play-by-play, thank you!
Haha, thanks so much! Glad it was helpful.
Thank you for the video, u sound great!
Thanks!
first
You're so sweet, thank you❤
What if you absolutely hate the sides and back shaved, is there a different way to grow it out? :(
You don't need to shave the sides and back at all! The sides especially need to grow out just like the top. I would recommend just trimming the very bottom of the back bit every month or two. This will create a 'bob' style eventually which is a great foundation to grow from. If you don't trim the back you will get a slight mullet, and you will need to wait until the top grows to catch up anyway. If you really hate it get creative with headgear! Bandanas, caps, berets, thick headbands, thin headbands, whatever! Good luck!
@@sarahw2174 I’m going to try this. Thanks girl :) I cannot WAIT for this to grow out. The self esteem is awful with it. I hate ulta I can’t believe they over professed my hair so badly that it was like gum when wet and took two hours just to blow dry (and it was already a short bob!) I am eager to grow this buzz cut out yours grew out so fast! I’m taking biotin and prenatal pills and hope it helps. :(
You speak very weel, loved the video!!
Thank you and glad you enjoyed!
So you got to the current length by only cutting the back and nothing else right? ❤️ I'm too self conscious to have the sides shaved. I just can't. Will it still grow out okay? :(
Yes! I don't think I did the sides at all to get to that length. The sides need to grow just like the top does (though the sides do get a slight head start). All that needs trimming is the back/bottom to avoid the mullet look. Good luck!
@@sarahw2174 thanks Sarah!! I'm going to grow it out your way and just bite the bullet with the awkward stages! xx I wish I'd never had a salon try to take me blond with a guarantee it'd be fine. :(
@@siaw6487 ah that sucks. But you can do it!! There are awkward stages but also some pretty fun stages too. Best of luck from me and glad this video could help in some way :)
I'm in this stage 😭 and I feel so ugly. I'm wearing a wig til it grows out. Also toques. (Aka Beanies) my hair got bleached at a salon and completely ruined. It took hours to dry and I couldn't stand the damage anymore. :( so now I'm at one inch length and praying it will look better in a couple months.
You got this! Time fixes everything!
