I live just a few minutes north of this area. I’ve always wanted to fish this area but I don’t have a kayak but I’m about to buy my first kayak and can’t wait to hit this area!
This is in my back yard!! That’s my go to when I have a short amount of time. I’ve been trying to locate a spot to launch on the west side of 146 between the marina and freeway. When the tides are moving there’s a lot of current moving under the freeway. We’ve caught lots of trout under the power lines from my neighbors boat and I want to try the shallows through there! Love the videos and thank you for your service. Tight lines!
Didn't know there was an actual kayak launch back there. We were out on the boardwalk one evening last month watching schools of big reds tear up the finger mullet!
I think I saw you there. You were out there a long time. I went down to the port of Texas city for a couple of hours and then went back up 146 and saw you still there.
I’ve seen some people fish in there. I’m about to get me my first kayak and was wondering where did you launch your kayak at? That little slip looks very easy to get your kayak in the water to start fishing!
If you like freshwater catfish then you would like Gafftopsail catfish. You gotta remove all the red fat looking meat. But you are apparently really good at catching reds and flounder so no surprise you don't bother with them.
Mark, when I subbed to your channel the other day I thought you mostly fished/lived further south. I was just here last week and caught a 2 flounder on the north side of that low overpass! Only one was was legal though. Hey, is that kayak launch private or public? I just bought 2 Lure 13.5s and can't wait to use them, just waiting on the proper equipment to get delivered to the house so I haul them in the truck securely.
I fished the same area a month ago, got me a speckled trout & a flounder both were 15 inches.. cool spot to a quick trip
Agreed 👍
I live in the area. I check this place out often. Saw some reds busting bait around the grass a couple evenings ago. Didn't have my gear of course.
That’s always an amazing sight to see.

I love this spot. Its quick and close by. Produces half of the time
It’s a great quick trip.
I fish 2nd all the time for flounder but got me a kayak now and this really excites me. Looks good early before winds.
Good luck! And congrats on the kayak.

It really is a good spot for two to three hours. 👍
Mud Lake is worth a look. It's very shallow but holds fish ...the lake system across from the Hilton.
Thanks, I’ve seen quite a few alligators in there.
That’s cool I remember when that bridge was a draw bridge!
Another great video that I enjoyed watching. !!!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks Hector!
I need to find this place I'm new to kayak fishing and this place looks perfect to get some practice in
It’s a great spot for practice 👍.
Awesome video as always Mark appreciate the info - tight lines - PuraSal Angler 🙌🏻
Thanks for watching!
Nice day on the water!
Yes it was! 🤙

Nice 👍
FYI.... there was a 5' gator spotted in there 2 weeks ago. It swam right up to several guys fishing there off the bank.
👍
Nicely done!
Thank you David!
Great Day. Fall weather comin!
It sure is, can’t wait.
Fished that same area. Also caught a lot of flounder in that spot. Better when high tide
👍 nice
Gives me a satisfying feeling when you're reeling in the catch of the day, except for the gafftop, lol
😂 me too. Thanks for stopping by 🤙.

Yea it was a slow day. 👍
This looks like a promising & adventurous spot. Imma have to go try it out, once I can find where's the dock to launch my kayak?
It’s in Seabrook, a very good spot 👍.
@@MDLRFishing Okay. Cool. I think imma try it this morning while hitting up numerous spot in the area
Saludos amigo buen día de pesca 🎣 🎣👍🐟
Thank you Marvin!
More public waters need those kayak launches makes it way more easier and safer
Most definitely
Great video as always! Can you tell me what length and brand of stake-out pole you used with the yellow handle?
It’s a Power Pole HD cut in half.
Surfside Jetty County Park has a lot of Spanish Mackerel these days so you can try it.
I need to get out there soon.

Hey Mark they are redoing the bridge at oyster lake and the road is already halfway paved
That’s a hike. I couldn’t stand that dirt road 😂.
@@MDLRFishing rattle your your brain just trying to get out there lol
Little known fact. Back in the nineteen fifties that place was a dirt car race track.
Really, pretty interesting.
Didn’t realize there’s a dock there now lmao back in the day you had to just yeet the yak over the rocks
Life is easy now 😂👍
There’s also a kayak launch at clear lake park now across from the baseball fields. Kind of a hike to get from the parking lot though
I need a kayak! Great video, how are you liking that bates bfs reel? Worth the money??
It’s slowly becoming one of my favorites.
I got a 17 in Flounder last week,on other side on 2nd Street where u are at,on Gulp chartreuse
Nice 🤙
@@MDLRFishing good morning, the Flounder a're still spotty, Buddy got one Flounder 19in he was using live Mullet in Seabrook ,last week also
Went today one bite, that's it
Seen my Buddy fish, over there by feeder bridge,Hwy146 nothing biting
Could you drop a pin for that launch ramp?
Just use google maps, that’s what I do when looking for areas to fish. This is located in Seabrook, like the title says.
What was the name of that launch area you launched from…. I have never seen it?
Seabrook 👍. Use google maps, that’s the best way to find locations. It’s what I do when looking for places to fish.
Do you not have a discount code for the Old 18 rods anymore? 😮
I don’t, sorry.
Jarhead where is that launch, now you gonna make me buy another Kayak Oorah!
It’s in Seabrook 👍. A perfect spot for two to three hours.
I was there last week and saw a 7ft alligator at that ramp
No way, you got proof?
@@zcezar2914 yes took pics
I saw an otter or whatever it was there like 2 years ago.

They’re ok, I just can’t stand the snot like slime 😂.

It’s a public launch. Congrats on the new kayaks.
@MDLRFishing Lol I was just on Google maps trying to find it, thanks!
@@nateitscake88it’s on Main Street in Seabrook. Nice little launch.
Is there a spot to fish off the bank in that area or by pier 8?
I’ve seen lots of people doing it.
Do you always use lures? No live bait?
I rarely use live bait from the kayak. When I fish the jetty rocks I use live shrimp and mullet or crabs.
Where is that at?
usually it's a grind at that lagoon
👍
Don’t blow out the spot plz
Lets pretend we didn't catch that 😂😂😂
😂
You give lessons?
Sorry, I don’t.
I went there before and lost a slot😢
Maybe next time 👍.
OH no yeah that's not Good lol 💪💯🙏
Thanks Mike!
