Healing thoughts to Lilly, your video was one of the best longline ones, there is a lot of instructions from people being given to supposedly longlineing when they are actually Lungeing a horse with two lines mainly in circles.Long-lineing is a good way to help start horses ,for exactly the reasons you outlined ,young horses need to be learn to be come obedient ,and to start to become more independant ,that's why its done, especially when you can get to a point to take them out of their home territory along fields and lanes, quiet roads ect., good quality walking in the correct outline works wonders for them ready to be ridden later ,well done you for getting it correct ,i love long-reining for both riding and driven horses.
Thank you for doing this video…it’s excellent. Each step is explained clearly and is so much better than any other video on long lining I have seen. I have just subscribed and hope to see more of your videos. 😊
Hi, just watched this video, I subscribed in hopes one day you will wish to make more videos. I will be back to watch the two other on your channel. I do hope your horse pulled through. This video is one of the best explained I have seen yet on long reining. Please find time to make more educational videos.🐎
I have a horse who is very nappy when we hack alone, and wonder if long reining might help him to realise it’s all okay. He tends to spin 180 when I’m in the saddle, if he did the same with long reins, is that too much of a danger?
Thank you!! I just work my way back to the horses shoulder, unclip one sides and let it fall to the ground, then gather up the one still attached and use it as a normal lead rein! Play around and see what works best for you but if the horse is jumpy do more desensitization 💜💙
A patient friend at the head end,and practise, practise, practise, try not to get lines too long, or stand directly behind either!! book a good instructor, keep sane and safe.
