Looks like Duke is really interested in those fungi! :D real beautiful place, Alastair. Woodland photography there must be quite lovely. You found some gorgeous colorful fungi and an interesting set-up. Think that's the first time I've seen an extension rod in use, never did this sort of photography. Loved the shots!
Thanks bud. It is nice there. Other woods are better but this one is just so quiet it’s wonderful. I can see a Clueless macro episode coming soon ha ha.
Nothing worse than thinking things are good only to find out when you get back you forgot something or missed you tripod shadow or the tripod itself in the picture when you have the best light....that photography. Duke had a young moment when he shot off hope his isn't suffering for it, bless him.
You’re so right. Glad I spotted the leg when I did. Yeah Duke shot off at some speed, but not for very far. He does that now and then and then the next day he has to take things easy. Thanks for watching.
Hi, Alastair! I started following you yesterday and I'm catching up on watching your videos. Sorry for speaking to you from one that has been around for some time since you uploaded it. I've been looking for a good tripod for my camera for a while and I've fallen in love with the one you show in your video. Would you be so kind as to share the brand and model? I would greatly appreciate it. Greetings to you and caresses to Duke! Thanks!
Hi John. Sorry for the delay. The tripod is a Manfrotto model 055. It is carbon fibre and relatively lightweight. This model has two clips which gives two extensions which brings the camera to eye level for me. You can get one with three clips. That will be shorter when closed up. I am using a Benro ball head but that’s only because the shop didn’t have the Manfrotto one. I am often seen in the videos with a travel tripod by Three Legged Thing. That’s due to weight and size and much easier for me to carry. I do not recommend the Three Legged Thing tripod that I have. What you’ve shown an interest in is a really good, well made, versatile, tripod.
Great video, Duke was the star of the show, did he spot a squirrel when he bolted off? You got some great images, I've probably missed this year's fungi, I've been out of action for a couple of weeks with a trapped nerve in my hip and now a cold.
Thanks Andrew. Not sure what he spotted but yeah he sure bolted off. He didn’t go far and came straight back. Fungi here is still around. Just took some phone pics of a couple of gorgeous specimens. However I’d not recommend trying to do fungi if your hip is still an issue. Hope the cold goes quickly
Hi Nadia. It’s near a village called Saline in West Fife. I’ve just taken the location off Google Maps and I hope it pastes ok here. If not I will add to the description later. maps.app.goo.gl/c4EeRCQ6DVQ8qmfR8?g_st=ic
Wonderful video and photographs. Love your dog Duke.
Thank you. Duke said “aw shucks” and walked off.

Where is this woodland? I’ve tried several woodlands near me, but was unable to find any fungi

Thank you, that’s not too far from where I stay 👍🏼
