Hi sir! Can the Arc Length method able to solve non linear set of equation for a normal linear geometry problem

Why the value of of the Lambda^2 max = 1 is not fixed in the formula since it can not be larger than 1?

@Samer Adeeb For Riks method can you applied displacement load. For example when you are showing the pipe under bending can we use applied rotations instead of moment along with RIKS method? Is there any difference if displacements and not forces are used?

You don't need to use the RIKS method in a displacement control simulation. The example shown here is just for demonstration, but the proper way to simulate it would be using "static general" under displacement control.

@@Samer_Adeeb I understood that, but if I decide to use a displacement load with Riks method, does it make any difference?

@@spyrosarvanitis5180 I wouldn't expect it to make a difference. It would probably converge faster.

    Hii..
I have some doubts in Abaqus. It's related to riks method. I did linear buckling analysis and I got eigenvalue.. I gave this eigenvalue as load in riks analysis... I got load Vs displacement curve but in that curve I couldn't get eigenvalue.. I got load less than that eigenvalue value..

You cannot obtain the eigenvalue from the load displacement curve.

How to get load (eigenvalue) in load Vs displacement curve.
