    Excellent video presentation. I wanted to ask you how I can develop that example manually since I have problems when performing the material nonlinear matrix and geometric nonlinear matrix. If you could explain with a video I would be infinitely grateful. Regards

      I'm really glad that you like in Manu. To be honest with you, I have absolutely no idea how to do this manually... I mean, this is why you want to have a nonlinear solver in the first place, right? I can only imagine that doing this "by hand" would be super tedious and iterative... if I recall there were around 500 iterations when I was computing that. It's a super small model, so it took my PC a few minutes max to compute this... but doing that manually... I can't even imagine that. And if you would like to code a nonlinear solver of your own, that is a complex thing I guess - I never tried it, so I won't be able to help you with this.

      thank you @@Enterfea for answering, could you recommend me a literature that shows how to perform this analysis, because I am trying to analyze a shell vault and I want to program in matlab. thank you in advance for your time.

      @@manu3308 not really my thing, but I think that Crisfield vol 1 and vol 2 had some coding snippets for nonlinear solver (I'm not 100% sure though). I always refer to the book as Crisfield (name of the author) the title is something like nonlinear analysis of solids and structures. Maybe you will find it there, but I don't think they used matlab there.

      Hey! This is a very good question. I'm not an Ansys user, but from what I've heard, there is nowhere in the Workbench where you can "click" the arc-length! You have to add that from the command line into the analysis file, but sadly I don't know the Keyword in Ansys that "operates" Arc-Length

    By the way, I wonder what type of nonlinear algorithm you have implemented in this simulation. Classical Newton-Raphson? Or a quasi-Newton method? Thanks!

      Hey Gaston... I'm pretty embarassed, as I completelly missed your comment (I don't get notifications sometimes I think...) sorry for that!
      I used arc-length method here (I think it was modified riks, but it was so long ago... maybe Crisfield? they work almost identical). And I think it was "full Newton Raphson".

    hi. i have a problem with snap-through problem using MArc Mentat (transient analysis). i need to switch from two stable shapes using a incremental load. but when i remove the load, the plate go back at the first configuratio. why?
