Great picks and nice cards in your collection. My list 1) 1969, 2) 1973, 3) 1957, 4) 1965, 5) 1977. I just missed Brook’s playing days but growing up an O’s fan I enjoyed his color commentary on local broadcasts and always understood his greatness and impact on Baltimore as Mr Oriole. Had opportunity to meet him in 1983 and again 30 years later. A true baseball hero and legend. Love this series as it takes a deep dive into lesser known cards of superstars. Looking forward to researching Eddie Matthews this week to get ready for your next episode.
Brooks Robinson is the toughest one for me so far in this series. He has a lot of great cards that I really like. But here goes: 1) 1975 2) 1965 3) 1964 4) 1957 5) 1961. If they had made a card of him depicting the photo of him leaping high in the air after the Orioles won the 1966 World Series that would have been awesome. Just a great image.
Thanks! His 58 is sort of an acquired taste because of the image of him. But I agree that it's a cool jacket and I do like the use of background colors in the 58 set.
Great video. This was I think, the toughest top 5 for me to decide so far. Being a Baltimore Orioles fan and thus, a Brooks Robinson fan does not make, it any easier. Brooks, shares the record with one club alongside Carl Yastremski, who played his 23rd season with the Boston Red Sox in 1983. 5). 1975 Topps. 4). 1973 Topps. 3). 1963 Topps. 2). 1957 Topps 1). 1959 Topps
Merry Christmas, John. My top five choices are: 5. 1967 Topps 4. 1970 Topps 3. 1978 Record Breaker 2. 1961 Topps 1. 1973 Topps. His record for most seasons with one club has not been broken, but equaled by Carl Yastrzemski who played 23 years for the Red Sox. Love the 61 Topps. Beautiful card and nice color photo of him.
How nice of you to prepare a video for release on Chistmas Day. My Brooks run is less than half completed and likely never will be as I plan to consolidate, but I chose from among my own collection, which narrowed it down. 5 - 1958. I had to include this for comic value, though I bet no one else will. What an unfortunate expression, Topps! Is he about to sneeze? 4- - 1975. I like this batting image because it's real, not posed, and shot from an unusual angle. 3 - 1965 2 - 1961 1 - 1957. On his rookie card he looks like a teenager who shows up and offers to mow my lawn for a dollar. (in 1957; it would cost $20+ today)
Hi John. I really enjoyed this one since Brook`s is one of my guys I have focused on. Your selections are excellent. I don`t really have a favourite card of his, as I love them all. Merry Christmas my friend, to you and your family, talk soon pal.
My list 5. 1969 a nice card he looks happy to be playing Baseball 1974 and 72 doesn't grab me study the photo's and you will see what i mean. 4. 1971 a great photo 3. 1973 him playing the hot corner great image. 2. 1975 him batting at the plate. 1. theres a reason for record breakers it says something about the player so yeah 1978 yeah that 1960 is a very nice card. I agree with the 1961 a cool batting stance and the Oriole logo on the uniform your number 1 is my third place .
My top five:
1959 (the uniform and background)
1968 ((Palm trees background)
1973
1975
1963
Thanks David!

Everyone hates the 1958 but its my favorite, in my top three of favorite ones of any card. I love the vintage wool jacket and the color on that one.
Thanks! His 58 is sort of an acquired taste because of the image of him. But I agree that it's a cool jacket and I do like the use of background colors in the 58 set.
