Love the video and the ending. I love doing things when possible to help out. I’m collecting more tools and abilities to do things. Every little thing you do is a Christian example to the world around you. God bless.
Thats what i like about a band saw mill Troy, theres probably 1/2 or more less waste than a typical circular saw mill. Plus you get a much smoother cut without all the waste. Thanks, love your channel. 👍👍👍
I am an SOB when it comes to many things, my family was shocked that I had been giving food to the food bank twice a year. I told them "Helping somebody and not shouting look at me I helped somebody is the right thing to do". And you did the right thing not filming yourself helping the poor guy out. Also you have just told people don't mess with trees if you don't know what you are doing. 👍👍👍
ah sorry to hear that gentleman got hurt... my prayers for his quick recoveries... we don't know what to expect in next moment... all we can do is try to be careful as much as possible...
In my book that is called "Paying forward" cause what goes around comes around. I see you getting just a bit more out of the boys and thats good. Too much idle time is time for a mind to wander to places it shouldn't be. Your doing a wonderful job for you and yours. Glad you were there for them. If a church works right, they all come together and help with felling, milling and transporting. A guy can dream can't he/LOL
Getting your saw stuck dosent have to be part of it.......cut in from the top until it starts to pinch remove the saw.....drive a wedge in and finish from the bottom. As you drive the wedge you can almost watch it straighten the tree. As the two halves seperate it creates a nice little pocket for your bar to "fall out of"
Great video Troy. I hope the gentleman has a complete and quick recovery. You are a blessing to him and his family. I think you made the right decision to not film the clean up. Have a blessed weekend.
Ehh, doing the right thing and helping others isn't just a Christian thing, it is the corner stone of being a decent person, and therefore a human thing.....but all in all, good video!
My wife and I were watching the video and we have a couple of questions. First, why do you power wash the logs? My guess was to get any dirt off the log to keep from dulling the blade, but not 100% for sure. Second question, what do you do with the bark that you cut off? Wife guessed you burn it, I haven't a clue. Thanks,
I loved the WHACK at 18 minutes in. :D

Another way to save money on blades is to get the bi-metal ones. They cost 2-3 times as much as the steel ones but last 8 - 10 times longer.

All the best to you and yours and the gentleman who did himself some damage. May the good Lord help him heal quickly .
Good video, and your help to a family in need was probably well appreciated. Steve in Thailand.
Great video. Have you ever used a green line laser module as an alignment tool ?

That was smart Troy keeping both the logs connected... :)
You could really use a grapple for your tractor. I got one last year and I am so glad I did. "Cast your bread upon the water..."
Great job, I like the power washing idea, and you will be blessed even more for helping out for the man got hurt, hope he will recover fully 🙏🏼
So why are you waiting to cut the exit chute out ?
nice neighbors wish mine were as helpful
Just wondering why washing the outside of your logs doubles the life of your saw blades when the blades cut UNDER the bark of the log?
They have to pass through the outside of the bark to make the cuts. dirt and rocks are trapped in the bark.
How do you dry your lumber?
air dry in the barn

U spray oil on those 4x4 post to protect them? If not I would.....
How you like the Honda?
Just asking... do you treat the poplar so it doesn't rot as it not the most stable wood for outdoor work...

Thanks,
What is that tape measure your using?
Check his playlist. He filmed a video on it.
Circumference divided by pi will give you the same result
What was the length of the logs?
Where the pigs?
The distance around a round object is its circumference. The diameter is the measure of its cross section.
I am using a logger's tape which gives me diameter
