- #96. After months of research and looking at many different dump trailers I finally made a decision. I decided to go with the Iron Bull DTB 7x14' 14k. This thing is a beast. Very impressive build quality but it does have a few issues.
Nice trailer I have a 14 foot iron bull gooseneck dump coming next month that I ordered.
I’m sure you’ll love it!
Bought 3 trailers from them. Great to deal with
Glad to hear you had a good experience!
Nice choice. Iron Bull are top shelf trailers. You will enjoy many years of tough use.
Thanks! Enjoying it so far
Nice review. I bought 2 different Lamar trailers from Best Choice in Carlisle. Traveled from Massachusetts twice. Long ride. I can say the issues you pointed out with the IronBull are no different than the issues i found with my Lamar once i got it home. The welds look WAY cleaner on the IronBull from what the video shows. With the exception of the horrible ramp design in that trailer, it seems to be very well built and rugged. Im sure you will get years of service out of it. One thing I would 100% recommend would be uprgading the tires to 14 ply. Once you load that trailer to its potential, and take any tight turns etc, the axle twist will damn near rip the tires off the rim.... ask me how i know.... GOODLUCK!
Thanks for the heads up on the tires. I will upgrade to 14 ply at some point. You know the damage is going to happen eventually it’s just frustrating on a brand new trailer. I have hauled and dumped multiple loads of firewood and not one new scrape. Definitely seems like a well built trailer.
Are you selling firewood or are you selling trailers ? Nice real but we're more interested in firewood.😮
Haha you can rewatch all my firewood videos. I’m up to 108 now!
For the money. ED trailer is the best
There are definitely lots of great dump trailers out there.
I wished you could have looked at Moritz trailers. They’re one of the best that I have personally looked at. I beam frame, bed sits inside the frame giving the trailer a lower center of gravity, torsion axles, and aluminum ramps
I hear they are nice.
How was Best Choice to deal with? I'm in Pittsburgh and they're one of the dealers I'm looking at.
They were good to work with. That’s where I picked up my trailer. Just look over the trailer well. Mine was really dirty. I found a lot of paint damage once I cleaned it up.
@cabinviewventures thanks!
What was the sticker price on that iron bull vs the Lamar. Where I'm at in the Pacific Northwest they're both advertised at around $12k. I really like the box design of the iron bull but the Lamar definitely has a higher end look and finish.
The Iron Bull was just under $11k and the Lamar’s were around $11,500. Really close in price. Don’t think you could go wrong either way.
Wow!!! Nice trailer but that’s discouraging all the issues. Especially that ramp. Like you said the paint is not the end of the world but ide rather put the scratches on something, not buy it that way. All in all looks like a nice trailer. You’ll get a lot of use out of that.
That’s exactly how I feel. Two cords delivered and zero new scratches. It should hold up just fine!
I would return the trailer and look somewhere else.
I thought about it.
