    You’re looking and sounding better buddy, good to see. I’m currently thinking of getting air vest, probably Dainese , as just about everything they make is very well engineered and thought out . I’d like 2 piece suit with hip air bag also , may as well go whole hog I guess, as damage to thighs /hip area can be very serious also. Take care buddy , 👍🇬🇧

    Don't rule out tethered options. I've personally reviewed and deployed:
    Helite Turtle 2, eTurtle, HMOOV tethered backpack. Mo'Cycle jeans
    Alipinetars 3 and 5
    DAir (did not deploy this one)
    Currently testing:
    HELD
    Rev'It
    KLIM
    I've gone down in the Turtle 2 tethered 3 times in crashes under 10 MPH, deployed as designed. Buy what you want, anything is better than what you experienced with passive armor. Heal well

      This! I'm just getting into riding and I won't even get my first bike without the an airbag vest. I will be tethered. I've read too many problems with the tetherless sensor systems that just don't inflate the bag at all.

    As a rider who has a couple of accidents under my belt, I just wanted to wish you a speedy recovery. We're a different breed from those who don't ride. The desire to get back on the bike after a spill is almost undeniable. All we can do is be as safe as we can. I'm also looking into an airbag system. Probably go with the Alpinestars Tech-Air 5. Good luck and keep the updates coming.

    Hey Rembo, you’re looking already much better! I think your first short you were still probably on pain killers.

      Hey, thanks. Believe it or not I’ve actually done this entire thing without any narcotics. It’s been some Tylenol ibuprofen, muscle relaxers, and a pill that helps with nerve pain. That’s enough to work. I know I’m not going to be pain-free anytime soon and I didn’t want to have my judgment clouded With narcotics

    Hey Rembo, glad you are getting better. I wrecked my 08 road king a couple weeks ago out near Ft Davis, TX on an anual ride organized by a good friend. 30-35 mph around a hair pin turn, no excessive speed, great weather... just hit something (didn't even see what it was) that caused the front tire to jump out and throw the line of the turn off and pushed me to the gravel. I straightened up, braked and went into a rocky incline off the road. No injuries but bike was totaled (it landed upside down while I was thrown over the front). I've replayed it in my mind several times since and came to the conclusion that sometimes, even when you are doing everything right, $#!+ happens. Glad you are doing well and that you are planning on riding again when you can. Be safe and I pray that God keeps His hand on you. God bless.

      Wow, sorry to hear about your bike, but I’m happy that you walked away uninjured. It doesn’t even sound like an accident that someone could walk away from an injured but then again, I walked away from head-on collision where my bike was totaled. Thank you for reaching out, thank you for the story and I appreciate you, sharing your story

    Glad to see you are doing better! When you’re ready to get back in the saddle, may I recommend to you the new Rev’It Avertum Tech-Air airbag vest. I just got one to replace my failed Dainese D’Air (Ducati branded) airbag vest, and it’s a fantastic piece of kit. It is much lighter than the Dainese, has more mesh to flow a lot more air than the Tech-Air 5, and the connected app is pretty good to show you the battery status at any time. The app even records your ride using your phone’s GPS. Dude, ATGATT!!! Get well soon. 🙏

    Thanks for the update, as always very detailed 👍.
    Just wanted to let you know your crash has indeed stimulated me to go and buy ab airbag vest. Because I already have an Alpine Stars Yagurara tech air compatible jacket, I had no hesitation buying a Tech Air 5 vest. Fits me, feels good, quality made and unlike many others, the AS vest can do up to 4 crash inflates before it needs to be serviced (if the sales guy and some google reading is correct). I have been sitting on the fence ever since buying that jacket (mostly for comfort, fit, ventilation, waterproof etc) but not as a planned Tech Air vest upgrade.......well now, because you were so badly banged about, I chose the TA5 vest because it was light, well made and it has side impact protection and it is reusable and serviceable. What's $1100Au when I could have busted ribs in a minor speed prang?
    Thanks REMBO.........you are always a great asset to listen to 👍.
    Heal fast sir!

    As you probably know, Alpinestars revamped and expanded their Tech Vest line (I have the Tech 5, for both road and track, but the new ones are a step forward). Any of the vests (if not in track mode) would have been triggered in your incident.
    Best wishes for continuing progress!

    • @bsmukler
      @bsmukler 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They’ve shown videos at the track school I go to demonstrating the vests inflating the instant the rider’s body begins to come off the bike. (It’s actually all algorithm-based, relying on accelerometers, and the programs are different for track, off-road and street). For instance, the vest would go off if a vehicle struck a stopped motorcycle. It happens so quickly, apparently, that the vest has inflated before you even register the situation. Alpinestars constantly finesses their algorithms based on electronically stored data from inflation incidents. Very cool, sophisticated stuff.

    As far as airbag vest i have been reviewing them and strongly considering one. Your accident may make me finally pull the trigger but i think the Alpinestars tech air 5 is the one to go with right now. I like that it covers the shoulders and i like the way it is armed and disarmed with the closure. No need to remember to turn it on. And no subscription like the Klim. Plus I believe their algorithms are probably the best with their data from moto go. Get well!

    I just bought a Tech-Air 7x and ride mostly track with some weekend rides. You can use the 7x like a vest or zip it into a suit. It flows more air than the Tech-Air 5 and is longer in the back. The 5 may be better for commuter or more frequent rides.

    Well that’s been great to see you sounding so much better even in the time between videos. Of course you may not be feeling it……
    I recon a return air fair to World Ducati Week would be a great tonic for you, just saying.

      Well, I’m doing much better. Don’t have full mobility of my arm yet, but it’s getting better. The pain level is pretty much zero unless I try to go outside of my current range of motion. Should be able to start flying again in a couple weeks. Thank you for asking. I hope you are enjoying the summer summer.

    Get well soon I wear an airbag and struggle in the heat and agree tethered will not work in some circumstances Irish manufacturers will speak to medics for bets airbag design most miss opportunities one company is too arrogant when I spoke to them says don’t need cervical spine protection. Make the materials out of mesh for those worm inside

      @@RemboUSMC I would also say that I am a medic - the ribs are semicircular so even if airbags did protect the impact the transmitted force may result in a fracture due to the shape - but would have been worse - be interesting to see your X-ray/ct images and point of impact

    It’s only natural that now you’re thinking in the future to better protect your body when riding. It’s hard to acknowledge the need of that kind of protection until we face an experience as you did, and for you, as it would be for me if I were in your place, there is no longer any margin for error in what concerns to safety measures. Should you think like this before? I personally think that you shouldn’t. Now that you’ve been touched by an unfortunate accident , yes, I think you must take extra caution measures as I surely would do if I had that experience. Why don’t we take that measures preventing the facts? First, because we are humans, with the good and the bad of that. And second because, correctly, we, as bikers, go in pursuit of something that brings us happiness and lots of joy which we know that simultaneously generates consciously, potential risks, mainly for us and our health . And when an accident occurs as it happened to you, we have to make changes to keep on riding with confidence and pleasure. It’s just mandatory from now on to see the activity of riding bikes differently after the event . We learn, we evolve, we get wiser as we progress on living our life, as we get more experienced, but that’s the only way to add value to our performance and behavior. The knowledge of others, the words of others are meaningful but the right tools to keep on perfecting ourselves must come from our own experiences. It’s just the way it is.
    It’s good to know that the medical proceedings are on the right path and that you’re feeling better. Hope to watch your new videos in soon! 💪

    Curious why you don’t think tethered would have helped in your crash, did you stay with the bike? Helite Turtle tethered is my choice and I’m super confident after seeing my buddy crash in his. It has awesome back protection always there. 👍🫡

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I’m concerned that when I was flipped that I would still be close to the bike upon impact, but I may be wrong. I’m actually questioning whether vest or a tethered vest would’ve worked.

    • @movem1
      @movem1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I see. I keep the tether as short as possible (and don’t need to stand street riding). Both are good systems. Look forward to your choice & review! Get well soon 👊
