    u have to oil the clutch shaft every ride if ya want it smooth. the manual says a few drops but i recommend more and the chain needs oiled with chain lube about every ride.

      Jonah Scott mine went 24.8 mph stock with throttle limit screw backed off. I was about 210lbs that day. Slightly downhill but speed was limited by governor, not power. So yeah it should.

  • @Deucealive75
    @Deucealive75 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Another great woods riding video. It's nice to see the stock configuration handle just about everything. No need to spend hundreds on engine mods and spend the money where it would help the most, like a torque convertor. And I think you could have made that muddy uphill with a touch more momentum before you hit it. For some reason I keep thinking what a pain a breakdown would be up there. I would probably want to carry an extra jackshaft and main chain plus a few tools.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Was a fun little ride. Yeah I think just a torque converter would be all I ever really "need" to get up some some of the steeper sections without walking it. Even at low RPM engine does pretty good and has some pretty good torque. I usually bail just to save wear and tear on the clutch. Plus I weigh about 215 pounds and with clothes/ gear / mud (LOL), etc.. it might be closer to 230+ pounds. The engine does run very nice though!
      The nice thing about being up on a hill is that you could coast about 90% of the way back down. I think losing the brake would be a huge problem though. I might just leave it up there and walk back down, then go up with parts and fix it. Not sure though!

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the brake is another "weak" part about the bike. It wouldn't be so bad if it also had a front brake, even if it was a drum brake like out back. Then you would be able to pull both for better braking when needed.

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah definitely. A guy on some forum somewhere was talking about buying a rear wheel and brake and maybe using it on the front. Not sure if it would work or not, but it might.

    • @bwxmoto

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It makes it like how a snowmobile works basically. It's like a CVT in a newer automatic car. It has a belt and two pulleys and makes it so you can go really slow with a lot of torque and then speed up to go a lot faster than stock too. Look up TAV2 30 on ebay. You can get them for about $50. Need a 3/4 shaft from engine though, so need to buy a Predator 212 for $100 unless you have a really old CT200U that still had the 3/4" shaft. They are 16mm these days.

    what do you use on the chain? should i just put WD40 on it? just got my bike 4 days ago

    • @bwxmoto
      @bwxmoto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I used Corrosion-X which is really expensive, I bought it for a different purpose. I think you could use bicycle chain lube, motor oil, WD-40, etc. I think WD-40 is pretty thin and more of a penetrant/ water displacement spray though, but it is better than nothing. The clutch shaft (not clutch itself) needs oil repeatedly, every single ride basically. Can use motor oil for that.

      Mine does anyway. If I don't oil that clutch shaft it starts making a lot of noise and gets really grabby. If I oil it, it quiets right down and also run s a lot smoother. It's a pretty big difference!

      If I were you stop at a place where they sell dirt bike stuff. You should find a few different chain lubes there. Before I ran my Coleman I used the end of a bottle of some Honda chain lube that I used on my old dirt bike. Haven't touched it since but have not done extreme riding like this. I still do not understand why guys will use oil to lubricate their clutches. Especially a clutch that has a caged needle bearing in it. Before I ran my Coleman I opened the clutch and packed the bearing with automotive style wheel bearing grease. Seems to work ok but do not over do it with too much grease. Since then the clutch has never seen a drop of oil. Oil a clutch with a bronze bushing. Grease a clutch with a caged needle bearing.

    Ciao amico, perdonami, sono in Italia e vorrei comprare il Coleman. Sai darmi un feed su questo sito?: www.euscooters.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=111

      Sorry I never saw this comment as it went to spam. Question was:
      "Hello friend, forgive me, I'm in Italy and I would like to buy Coleman. Can you give me a feed on this site ?"
      I have no idea if that website is legitimate or not, but that is definitely an unbranded Coleman CT200U. If you can buy it, it would be the same as mine I bet.
      Non ho idea se il sito è legittimo o no, ma questo è sicuramente un Coleman CT200U non definito. Se lo puoi comprare, sarebbe la stessa cosa che scommetto.
