    I had an almost identical issue to this on my 2004 e53. On mine the sun roof vent has a soft hose that runs down the inside of the pillar airbag and pokes inside a steel receptical. The cure is to pull the air bag cover off and push some compressed air down the metal pipe, loads of shite blows out on to the floor and you are good to go. What happens is the lower portion gets blocked and in heavy rain it fills and overflows at the join and water runs straight into the LCM. I should have realised because one of my neighbours kept telling me that random lights were coming on on my car at night but dismissed it. I then parked up for a week at Birmingham airport and when I came back I had a dead battery. Got it started and the lights were all over the place and tracked it down. Luckily, my LCM wasn't as corroded as yours, but was full of water and the carpet was soaked. Good video though, well done.

    The aiming control is an absolute must. Too low you cannot see anything to high you blind others. I hate being dazzled by modern overly bright lights.

    Good fix. You should put a disclaimer to the garage and owner, that the fix is temporary due to the previous repair you found. Plus cheap for now, expensive later. I suspect that car could be about to be sold on to some unsuspecting person.
    Hopefully you put a doc file with this video for future records.

    Completely dumb from BMW to put the ALC-module in the bottom of the headlight. When there is condensation water inside the light, of course it goes straight in to the module. I had couple years back E91 BMW and i had to replace one ALC module because of this exact reason :D

    I would not even feel bad about changing the headlight. Ask yourself this Luis, do you want to repair problems or do a hack job? I understand that the garage that brought you the car are probably good clients but I don't think that a second hand module would have been that expensive for such an old X5. I bet you were not too happy to open the module more than once, fish out the wire, soldering and knowing that this is not the right way to do things. You got it done but I can't believe you were very satisfied. No disrespect towards you Luis but it makes me question the client.

    Hi, Your diagnostics is awesome. I have BMW X5 2005 model and i have been experiencing delayed auto lights ON in the night. In auto or manual mode it takes 10-15 seconds or up to a min to turn on the headlights. Its crazy to drive at the night with out the delayed lights on. Please help isolate the problem and how to fix it. Appreciate the help.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      The auto lights do work in conjunction with the light sensor in the windscreen...
      Check that the sensor area is nor dirty etc...
      Scan the car and check live data...
      Could be a the the light sensor is failing...

      Se tens gosto e estás disposto a pagar o premium preço dos fluke, força...
