The exhaust shop was going to charge me $800 Labor to install my supplied extractors because he reckons on the ls1 you have to drop the steering rack. You made it look very simple. Thanks
It depends on the design of the extractors. The ones I fitted to the wh in this video are split to make it super easy. I have another pair to fit to my vz but they are long 4-1 design with no split. I will probably have to drop the rack to get these in but still, it’s only 2 bolts to drop the rack out of the k frame and one bolt to disconnect the steering rack from the intermediate shaft. Either way $800 seems like a lot of labour.l, especially if you have the split design extractors. If your semi confident give it a go yourself, you can do it! 👌
Green coolant? Ls1s came facotry with are recommended to use dexcool.. my understanding was that there is something in the green stuff that doest agree with alloy motors?
I installed the exact same extractors and cats that you did, but now my LS1 is running rough. No warning lights on dash and I installed new leads. Maybe replace O2 sensors?
@@Hardtarget87jcvd check over all of your wiring connections, and check your plug leads to make sure they’re connected to the plugs properly. Check O2 plugs are connected and any other plugs or sensors you disturbed while installing them. Don’t go replacing your O2 sensors before checking the simple things. Better off double checking everything and connecting a scan tool before throwing money at parts that you might not need
LOL. Based on the amount of oil leaking from your engine, I suspect you could have spent your hard-earned on something smarter than a set of extractors.
And I have lol. Check out my other videos and you’ll see I’m in the process of removing the engine for a rebuild and replacing every single gasket. This sure is the worst leaking car I’ve ever bought. The price justified it and I was always going to pull it down anyway. I’m looking at extractors for my statesman but don’t know if vx ss extractors will fit wh statesman
The extractors are the same from sedan to statesman. You’ll have no issues so long as the extractors you use have the cats to match.
