What a great watch, you had a lovely day again . I hope when you two have finished your Wainwright round you do them all again cos I have really enjoyed watching you tackle them, lots of good footage and great info at the end . Thanks Matt and Dom . 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Richard, it was a brilliant day 😍 I'm thinking about moving to New Zealand in January so you might see videos coming that side of the world,, I'm hoping there is some sort of other challenge I could do over there Mountains 👌👌👌
Thanks mate, I finished my 214 on Saturday, will have a couple of videos out in the next 2 weeks 👍 The Heron Pike Wainwright is on the Fairfield Horseshoe mate 🤙
Matt it's been a cracking series. I've bought the book and going to get started this year. How did you plan the order of your walks? Did you just do the ones that you fancied most on the day or did you group them by location? Would you recommend any easier ones in the book to get started if you are not as fit as you pair? Cheers.
Thanks Paul, Basically a lot of the order come from how close they where to drive to from my house in Liverpool, im not a massive fan of the long drives, that's why I've left the ones around Wasdale until last and I'm planning on camping to save another drive, another reason was doing smaller ones in Winter if there was loads of snow and stuff so I didn't have to take extra gear like crampons and ice axes. The easiest by far is Low Fell and Fellbarrow, only a couple of hours walk then maybe look at The Greenburn Round & A Mell Fell Medley as they are not massively long routes, you will get fitter as you complete them mate so don't worry about it, good luck and enjoy the journey mate 😁😁😁
Hello mate, going to do this one at the weekend. I've already bagged Catstye Cam. Do you think an out and back will work? so stopping at Whiteside and turning around? anything jump out as a bad idea with that plan? Cheers
Yeah that would be fine mate, there is a path just before the summit of Whiteside, that runs down into Glen Ridding past the Hostel, you just need to backtrack a bit and it's hard to miss mate just check your maps, literally no point in going up to Helvellyn then over to Catstye Cam if you don't need to 🤙
@@MattDoesMountains did this on Saturday mate. Actually added in Sybarrow Dodd like you suggested and came back on the path we talked about. Amazing walk. Mosedale Horseshoe this weekend which gets me to 161 - thanks for all of the help
@@lukemckenna4216 Glad you enjoyed it Luke and always happy to help mate, Mosedale is one of the best routes as well, class, not far from the end now, your flying 🙌
There is a way off the back of catstye cam but you have to descend quite a lot and go back up to White Side, it would definitely make more sense to go via Swirral Edge up to Helvellyn then back down to White Side
