    Mighty handsome Case 1200. I remember when it was released. My goodness it seemed big. Who could use that much power?!

    Saw on rfdtv clsc trctr fvr. What a beast no plastic, straight lines. Just wonderful for me looks better than the stuff made recently. Real men worked in the open no a/c or heat just a am/fm radio. Fantastic job !

    I have a 1969 J.I. Case 442 Performance King which I plan on restoring. its not running currently because the starter died, the 442 PK is a Hydraulic Drive. all you gotta do is put it into either HIGH or LOW range, put it into either Forward or Reverse, then you just gotta choose your speed with the throttle and you are good to go! 12hp garden tractor thats about 43 inches tall (about 3[7/12] feet tall), great little machine, rolls nice and easy like nobody's business.

    Great job redoing those tractors ! The iron in those old machines is what makes them last so long, hard to rust through when everything is at least 1/4'' thick ! lol.

    Great video! I do believe wheelhorse was the first company to put out a hydraulic drive garden tractor. The model 875 1965. I own one.

    I had a chance to stop at the Geiger farm to see their collection of Case tractors. We were on our way home in Wisconsin from North Carolina. I remember it being a very windy day and I was really tired from being on the road for ten hours. I wish I would have had more time to take a closer look at the collection.

    They have a couple of these at Zagray's Farm Museum in CT. Very cool machines.

    That is probably the most handsome of all the 930 models. We had a ‘66 930 Comfort King with the flat yellow fenders. But for looks, I think the 1960 has it best.

    Why did the factory not put a cab on this beautiful monster, An American beast.

    • @pbgd3
      @pbgd3 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No tractors really had cabs in the 60s, late 60s you start to see them but remember implements of the time didnt have near as much hydraulic control you had to get on and off alot to make adjustments, engage and disengage etc. Now you can run hours at a time with out getting out of a cab then... not so much.

    • @PaulWilliam-e9k
      @PaulWilliam-e9k 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A choice of two different cabs was optional from the factory…

    FYI, Case is not the first and only garden tractor to use hydraulic drive. Several JD tractors do and many others as well.

    When was this filmed? Todays tractors are at or above 600 HP. He said they were at 400 HP.

    Zagray farm museum in Connecticut has two of these one that is restored and one being restored. The man who restored it said its a bear to drive because it doesn't articulate so it crab walks everywhere.

    FYI, Case started building the 1470 Traction King 4WD tractor in 1969.

    If the drive line was spinning how was it not moving?

    • @DeathHead1358
      @DeathHead1358 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They most likely jacked the tractor up, took the rims and tires off and set the tractor on blocks under the axles. They probably went back for those spots after they put the tires and rims back on.

    Back when farmers weren't soft. 😂. Try doing a 14 hour day tilling dry land wheat fields without a cab. I baled straw when I was 14 without a cab, it would kill me today.
