I've been playing this game casually for literally decades without realizing how alive this game actually is. When I first stumbled across top speedrunners, I knew I would want to get into it, but it's obviously quite overwhelming watching all the top strats, routes, tricks, etc. Thank you thank you thank you for putting in all the time and effort to help beginners like me set attainable goals and recapture the joy I got from this game as a kid. :D
Couldn't have said it better myself! I've been playing this game since I was under 10, 27 now, and I've gotten all 120 multiple times but not to this level. I timed myself for a 120 just for fun and got 4:32:00 before I watched this. With some time I wonder how that time will improve lol. Thanks Ben for the awesome video series!
Thanks for the compliment. Something I would recommend if you struggle with HMC 100 is too look up the BLJ less route because it is a lot easier and only a bit slower and I probably should have included it in the video. Also I would recommend running 70 star until you have a sub hour time before you attempt 120 star. That way you will be more use to speedrunning and you will be familiar with half the route already.
@@Ben-gu8ix almost every 100 coins star is really hard to perform well for me.. I trained the 70 stars for some weeks but i was able to do only 1:03 at the moment (sum of best is 58:30) .. i tried 16 stars too but i never manage to do a sub20 (20:33 pb) ... now i wanted to set a 120 stars first time
@@ste86horusgamer Take the 100 coin stars nice and slow and you will be surprised at how much progress you can make. I have a video series on my channel called beginner 100 coin stars which is the beginner route for each one with beginner movement
