శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు తదుపరి అవతారమునకు సిద్ధంకావలెనని అభ్యర్థించిరి.శ్రీ నారద ఒక కఠోర తప్పస్సు గావించి దేవేంద్రుడిని కలవరపాటుకు గురిచేశెను.దేవేంద్రుడు కామధేనువు సహాయముతో శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యుల తప్పస్సుకు ఆటంకము కలిగించ దలిచెను ,శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు నారద మునివర్యులను అప్రమత్తము చేశెను .నారద మునివర్యులకు కామధేనువును క్షమాపణ కోరెను .శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు కామధేనువుపై విజయమును సాధించెనని మిక్కిలి గర్వముతో శివపరమాత్ముడికి వెల్లడించెను ,శివపరమాత్ముడు ఈ విషయము గూర్చి శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువుకు తెలియనీయకని సలహా ఇచ్చిరి.శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు శివపరమాత్ముడి సలహా పెడచెవిన పెట్టి మిక్కిలి గర్వముతో కామధేనువుపై విజయము గూర్చి శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువుకు తెలిపెను .శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యుల అహంకారము చూచి, శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు నారద మునివర్యులతో తమ అహంకారమే తమరి నాశనమునకు దారితీయునని అతనికి సలహా ఇవ్వదలిచిరి .శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు తన తిరుగు ప్రయాణములో ,శిలానిది రాజ్యమును సందర్శించెను అక్కడ శిలానిది మహారాజు కుమార్తె విశ్వమోహిని అందము చూచి మైమరచి ఆమె ప్రేమలో పది ఆమెను వివాహము చేయదలిచెను .శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువుతో ఈ విశ్వములో సుందరమైన పురుషుడి రూపము తనకు ప్రసాదించమని సహాయము కోరెను.శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు అతనికి ఒక కోతిరూపము ప్రసాదించెను .వేదవతి (విశ్వమోహిని)స్వయంవరము ప్రకటించారు.శ్రీ నారద మునివర్యులు తనకు శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు.
Devarshi Narad is asked to request Vishnu to prepare himself for his
next avtaar. Narad undertakes a severe penance which scares Lord Indra. Indra seeks Kaamdev’s help in foiling Narad’s penance. Vishnu alerts Narad. Narad reprimands Kamdev, who begs for forgiveness. Narad takes pride in his victory over Kaamdev and mentions it to Lord Shiva. Shiv advises Narad not to reveal this to lord Vishnu. Narad does not heed to the advice and brags about his victory to Lord Vishnu. Vishnu resents Narad’s arrogance. Vishnu decides to advise Narad that arrogance is destructive. Narad travels to King Sheel’s kingdom and is struck by Sheel’s daughter
Vishwamohini and her beauty and falls in love with her and desires to marry her. He asks Lord Vishnu to help him become the most desirable male. Lord Vishnu offers Narad the form of monkey. The swayamvar of Princess Vedvati (Vishwamohini) is conducted. Narad is unaware of monkey face given to him by Lord Vishnu. The bridegroom that Vishwamohini finally selects is none other then Lord Vishnu. Narad is annoyed.
