I say shelf them and go re release. Let the old valuable collect dust on the shelf. Especially the Pred. We both know whats going to happened to that $2K Pred first lap. Going to be hard to watch.
You’re braver than me racing a predator, Dave is even braver lending it out 😂 My XK98 is purely a shelf queen since digging it out of my dad’s loft. They’re amazing cars and I can’t wait to see your videos on it!
I had a Ko Propo 40 meg set very similar to that in 1993. It didn't have a screen on the left side of the wheel, it had a slide off panel with a bunch of trim pots and a tiny screwdriver to adjust them. I loved that radio. It was the first 'good' one I had. I can even remember my frequencies - .815 was my standard and I had .855 and .875 as alternatives. Drove a Serpent Impact 10th scale 2 wheel drive with a Mega SX .15 engine. Does anybody remember the old Halifax track? Loved that place.
Yes, I first had a drive of Steve White's Serpent Impact at the old Halifax track, (remember the 20 ft drop into the brooke at the at the end of the main straight!) And a great track to 'hear' the 2 speed gearbox box kick in on each of the straights. Also the first time I noticed the fuel from Walt Baily smelt the best (bean oil?) like Castrol R. In fact I also remember Walt leading the A final (much to his surprise, shouting from the rostrum) with a prototype Mega SX engine (all silver finish), and possibly winning? while Gary Culver and everyone else was having various problems. Great car the Serpent Impact with Mega SX .15 engine, we should still be running them today! I hope to have mine back up and running at Crystal Palace very soon.
@@SimonWilliams_Racer22 Ha! Excellent! Yes, I never did the big dive at turn one fortunately. My problem was always the full throttle chicane in the middle of the lap or more specifically the dry stone wall that was a yard of the edge of the track on the exit. I flattened more pipes than I care to remember. I bumped into Steve a couple of months ago at club day (the new Halifax track) he's running electric 8th and GT like most of us now - it's hard to get a pit man these days. Walt's fuel (Elite Power) is John's fuel - John Russell - still the best by far, I'd never use anything else. Not seen Walt for a few years but last time I spoke to him he was big into his narrowboats - how times change. I remember him rocking up at Tibshelf in his Sapphire Cossie. Hope you get your Impact running again. I sold mine early 2000's - big regrets.
@@teabagmcpick889 I do now I remember the fuel being called 'Pink Power' limited to 16% Nitro for 1/10th and I also had the 16% float checker, the idea being to add a little more 25% Nitro without being caught, not that I noticed 25% making that much difference, I always ran a bit rich to protect the engine! I did notice Steve White on FB recently declaring GT8 electric being much better than he had thought, if ever there was a man with Nitro in his veins it's Steve.
Hi guys we have a new club in buntingford herts. We run 2wd class 4wd class vintage class rally class and trophy truck class. It would be great to see you guys there doing a video. It’s called Mill End RC car club. We are open weekends for practice and trying to do proper race days every few weeks. Thanks mark.
If you've not driven a Predator before, it's going to be like nothing else you've had your mits on. Responds to being driven really hard, all the time. Surprisingly good in the air and nowhere near as fragile as folk would have you believe, especially the later ones (XK5 onwards) Yes, you'll do the ocassionaly crown wheel and pinion (if the owner of the car has completed the mod to stabilise the bearing, you'll do less of them) but we got into the habit of refreshing them for every big meeting, hence avoiding the problem. I've recently got my mits on an X11, since I can't find my original XK98. You can see my thoughts here: th-cam.com/video/SK5IPmbRzr0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uxVi-kLwayqfvFPK Good luck at the revival guys!
The Predator is so cool! And of course the Kopropo EX-1 are the best radios over many years! I love them from the first one and need to collect all🤣 From '82 till 2012!
You'll have a much better weekend running the YZ10, the Ttech is a complete diva, although a very quick diva, whereas the Yoke is a very fast tank. Would love to do a revival one day, purely to see so many vintage buggies.
Lovely looking cars, i hope they serve you well over the weekend Mark. Carl get yourself a Cougar rere for the 2wd I know you love your Tamiyas though)
Running a Predator on aR Revival track isn't as bad as you think, especially as we now have a 10.5T motor limit. You should try running something rare, last year I ran the Mugen Mercury, this year I'm trying to decide between a Marui Ninja or a Mantua Daytona. If you are running lipos on a track keep away from brushed motors. If you have the motor tuned to keep up with others you will be spending your time between races rebuilding the motor. The motor will take all the extra power available from lipos and you will burn them out.
I've an old yz10 still. Really want to run it at a revival, but that'll have to wait till 2025 at the earliest. Needs new shocks and probably new diff as its not run since the 90s and needs a serious rebuild.
YZ10 and a Pred, wow, you two are going up in the world! Proper RC ballin it now.

A beautiful rc car the predator, a good friend of mine here downunder has one. Very rare but damn the drive good.
Will be running it soon
Lovely buggy reminds me of the Agama N1 they race now great upload
Good work on 2nd in the A-Final. Us veterans still have it sometimes.
I used to race against one. I still remember the distinctive sound they made - so mechanical vs the belt drive Cats etc

Oh boy I use to run one of those and yes they do break, the pins pop out due to the amount of flex and the diff rings would snap if over tightened.

That is frickin sweet!!!

If you want a 2wd for the weekend I have a very nice Ultima.its by far my favourite 1/10 vintage.
I had one of these back in the day it was amazing but my driving wasn’t and I did spend most of my time fixing it I only sold it about 10 years ago
It's more like we don't understand you mark.😂

It looks fast!!!!
Still got one of those radio's.....☝️
The wishbones are like glass they snap if you look at them funny
Rather watch you guys than Clarkson . Superb 👌
Get out on that nitro track the smell and noise is what goes it for me. I own 1 TT02 and 1 carpet racing buggy all the others are nitro ❤
Nice Nice Nice.....
I get ya Carl or is it Karl. DT02 ALL THE WAY!
😆 how many Dave's do you know!? 😆

Someone should buy the company name and make their cars again.
You can get a Pred chassis now so hopefully someone will step up and make a kits. Fingers crossed
That pred 🤩 super awsome cars but very fragile. The F1 car of the time, its just a shame there not around anymore.
Such a shame. Have you seen the pred chassis that has just come out?
@@RCKickschannel not seen the pred chassis 🤔 but these are way out of my reach 😭
Belongs on the shelf, Such a fragile kit. Going to be hard watching you break it 😫
More like we don't understand you mark😂.
Does the Grasshopper race include The Hornet too?
