    This was my winner. It's got everything that I look for in a song. There's a live extended version which is just amazing

      It was my number two and honestly my favorite of the slower song. Gave me goose bumps. Honestly it was so underrated by the fans.

    I have to admit this is my winner, touched me in more than words can describe and something I really resonate with. Jeangu has an incredible voice and this song builds up to a euphoric choir of beautiful voices. This song really means a lot to me and truly stopped me in the tracks. This is above and beyond everything else this year for me, thanks for the great reaction!❤️🇳🇱

    This was borderline in my top five and I really loved it. I have a sneaky suspicion that this could've been the jury winner had the contest gone ahead.
    The build was so good and it really delivered at the end. I love that picked up on the strength of the vocal arrangements in this one. I think it's just such a high-class entry and as you pointed it, they really got across what they were going for. It was just so professionally done.

    This is such a wonderful song, it's in my Top 5. The structure is a refreshing departure from verse/chorus/breakdown, and builds throughout, right up til the end - where it all just ends! I've heard people say that's a negative, which I can understand, but it's a very deliberate choice - to leave space for the song and idea to 'Grow'.
    I imagine sadly it wouldn't have done so well in Eurovision, unless people really connected to the emotional side of it. The juries /should/ reward the original composition and his beautiful vocals, but whether they would have or not... Well, I suppose we'll never know now 😅

    • @groot1421
      @groot1421  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I follow that reception completely! It's a really nice way to end it considering how the song built up towards that point!
      I thought the juries would be the ones to appreciate "Home" last year and they gave it 0 points so I will never again claim that I know what they're going for hahaha

    My family all has this in our top 10. For this this song is so sincere and the lyrics are beautiful and haunting. I especially like the structure of the song. It’s more of a three minute build but I appreciate that something new with the vocal arrangement of the sound comes up!!! Jeangu is also one of the few artists this year where I went back and listened to their discography and I thoroughly enjoy his music. I am so glad he will be back for esc 2021.

    I love this song... strangely, it sums up all of my thoughts about life in this 2020. And his voice is very good, he doesn't need flash and lights, he is enough.

    A charming and bitter sweet song , that sadly, may well have felt the curse of recent host's entries. Jeangu returns this year and i look forward to his participation and what kind of song he will offer up.😷
    ps my 3rd

    My 3rd place! I love, love, love this song! Jeangu sings from his heart, I can tell it. I love the gospel aspects of this song. For me it's slow but not boring! Lovely reaction and review!

    This song didn't make it into my top 10 but I appreciate how beautiful this song can be. His vocal delivery is very sincere and personal, which reminds me of Diodato with Fai Rumore. The song starts off with a slow yet elegant and captivating opening, followed by a nice progression throughout.
    However, the ending is too abrupt and I kinda wished there's like 30 seconds or more to allow the song to progress better. This reminds me of Bulgaria 2018 where the song should''ve had another chorus as a climax but the song was spectacular regardless.

    • @groot1421
      @groot1421  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel like this is one of those songs that could go on forever. It builds so smoothly that the listener just follows the progression and it can take any direction it wants to because it already hooked you!

    I think the song itself is very interesting and relatable in context. We're getting older, and it's not what thought It'd be like when we were kids. Time goes by way faster than you'd think.
    I imagine this song wouldn't do well in the results. It's very restrained and minimalistic, which is something that usually is near impossible to pull off with a good result alongside it. The only exception I can think of where it did work, was with Portugal in 2017. Still, looking forward to what he'll be bringing us for 2021.

    I love this song, but for some reason I haven’t been listening to it at all. I don’t really know why, but I will definetly start now.
    I just love the lyrics. It’s so emotional and I really get the feeling that every word comes from Jeangu’s heart.
    I don’t have to much to say about the instrumental. It’s good, but it’s not too memorable. The lyrics makes up for it though and I really think that Jeangu was the perfect artist for this song.

    Oh joy.. great entry.. would probably end op bottom 5. That song has grown a lot on me. And its easy to connect too. The disappointment of adulthood and finding out how you wast or aint in the place in live that you wanted or think you wanted that Turned out to be something else. The whole " the more i learn, the less i know." Comes with the concept off when you grow up your mind opens up for new concepts and perspections that makes life less understandable. In other Words.. Knowledge is a great thing but the more you get the more you will lose contact with your inner child or person who is in "the now" with the World. Imagine you are a doctor. How many doctors do you think can go to a party and total ignore the knowledge you have. You will be aware of germs and symptoms and you will know you are on Call tomorrow. With knowledge its harder to be completely yourselvf. You slowly lose the small things that makes life enjoyable and easy.
    Anyways its just some thoughts. Great content as allways groot

      That's a truly great reflection and it does make you wonder how life changes through time. It's a personal struggle to balance one's knowledge and one's perception... quite a hard-hitting truth to be completely honest and I'm glad you shared your insight on this. Sometimes you need to sit back and really take in what someone wants to say with a song and I don't do this often enough...

    I don’t know if this is relatable, but anyway. This is a song I really, really WANT to like. I can’t really criticize it properly. Because everything is done good. Jeangu is a good singer, it feels so sincere, it has a build-up. Everything good. BUT! It’s really not for me. So. It’s actually my place 40 out of 41. But yea, I won’t criticize it. Because I can hear that this is done well. But I’m clearly not the target group for this! :)

      @@groot1421 Heh yeah, as I mentioned, I’m not sure if people can relate. But if it were a movie review, maybe I would say it like this: ”Man, this is a well executed action movie. Unfortunately, I just don’t like action”. You see? I can ”objectively” see that this is a sincere piece of music. But I’m not the target for it.
