TF904 to 46rh Transmission Upgrade | Part 4 | How to Fix the Surging Overdrive

I scored at the pic-a-part! There was a 1991 Dodge Ramcharger with a 46rh transmission that needed to be plucked...For those that don't know, a 46rh is a 727 with overdrive...this one happens to be a 2-wire, so that means it has overdrive, but not lock-up...In this video I'll explain the parts needed to make the overdrive work, and how I fixed a surge in the transmission when the overdrive would engage

Thanks for walking through this. I'll be putting a 46RH in my '64 D100 and I'm sure I'll be running into this. I may wire in an over-ride switch like I did with my electric radiator fans. My '98 Dodge van has a momentary OD off switch so maybe something like that when I need to nurse up a hill with low vacuum. Just a thought. Thanks again.

I've thought about that, too. It would be super simple to just wire a switch in on the Ground side, so that there's no worry of voltage running through a switch...at least that's how I would do it
