I love when I see a comment pop up on this video. I know it’s helped someone solve what might be an expensive trip to an unscrupulous mechanic or just a lot of worry thinking they did real damage.
You saved me a $1,700 repair part and the labor charge to install it. I would have had to buy a fusebox and wiring harness for $1,700 plus the installation charge and maybe a towing charge to get this Frontier to the Nissan shop, if I had followed my local Nissan dealership's advice. Another shop may have gotten it for half that money, but nobody yet has found another fusebox for sale without the wiring harness. I gave your channel a Thumbs Up and Subscribed. I have had this Frontier for twenty years. The top electrical service technician at my local Nissan dealership thought that the 80 amp battery fuse had become too hot and melted and fused itself permanently into the fusebox. He made no mention of the 2 bolts on each side of the fuse that were holding it in the fusebox. And, the 2 prongs on the fuse are solid copper, which doesn't melt easily. Nissan refused to replace the fuse because they thought that it would pull the fusebox out with the fuse, since he thought that it was melted together. I watched your video twice and picked out some tools and replaced the fuse. And, after I left Nissan yesterday, I drove my Frontier to 2 other places (which I won't name) who also didn't know how to replace the fuse because they didn't know about those 2 bolts on the side. How did I start it with a blown fuse to drive it to other shops? We crossed over the fuse with a screwdriver, because we had broken the fuse into a dozen pieces trying to pull it out with needle nose pliers because we hadn't watched your video and didn't know about those 2 bolts that were holding the fuse in.
I love these comments on this video. Every-time I see a comment on this particular video I know people have been saved from an expensive and unnecessary repair.

Same battery fuse was blown on my 2000 Nissan Frontier XE (2.4L 5 speed). Which cause my truck to have no power at all to any systems when trying to start her up at a parking lot. I was over here trying to pull it out but thanks for demonstrating on how to replace it. Lol 👌 In my case, i also had to replace the battery since it was completely dead. According to my multimeter it only had 10.70v
@@ManCrafting On my previous Frontier which was exactly the same as the one i have right now only thing that it was a 1999 and in a black (The one i have videos of in my channel) the AC was never serviced and would blow very cold with no issues. But now that she's almost at 220K miles she's starting to struggle a bit and not blow cold anymore especially in heavy traffic or on idle. Might be time for a new compressor. 👍
Just saved me a lot of work. Fuse was burned through and I was only getting power to the blower and some other ancillary systems, but the aux. lights and stuff wouldn't light up on ACC and obviously nothing to the starter. Tried various known good batteries to same effect. Tried to just pull the fuse out and the brittle plastic exploded, leaving the two prongs, so I thought I needed a whole new holder unit. Nope, just gotta get it out and pull the bolts and put a new fuse in (and a 40A one I accidentally exploded with a tool lol).

Electrical issues can be a pain. You may also want to check the ground wires. There should be at least one to the body. Maybe another to the frame. I’d have to look at a schematic. Not 100% sure where on the Nissan they are.

Did you have any of these problems? If so any solution?
I connected my battery wrong by mistake and now my car doesn’t crank or nothing, now that I have the battery connected properly I only get power to the radio but my car is a no crank no start, do you think this fuse can cause a no crank no start for my situation?
ManCraftingTM it’s a 1996 Nissan Maxima and actually I think I found the problem one of the 140 amp fuses are blown I will replace it tomorrow and see how it goes
ManCraftingTM hey so I replaced the fuse and my car still won’t crank or start :( I looked around to see other fuses and everything seems to be fine I even took my starter and battery to an auto parts and they said it was good and I also tested my ignition switch and neutral safety switch with a test light and multi meter and that’s good as well, so now I am confused on what to do next
My engine fuse keeps on blowing out i put a new it starts but then i turn it then back on but when i do it blows the fuse but my truck stays on when i turn it off and then restart it wont turn on..
Rick lyons I still have that Nissan. It’s now 17 years old. Changed the engine fuse once. Cheap and not to difficult and likely saved other expensive components from damage. How much are you asking for the Exterra?

On mine everything electrical was dead but the ignition would still crank the starter. Same fuse.
I blew two fuses trying to reconnect the battery after installing new fuse
Wow. Got it going?
I’m wondering if this will work for my 2008 Nissan Versa? Someone put my battery in wrong I’m assuming while I was away for about six months.
Spam Asf wouldn’t hurt to try. Part is cheap.
ManCraftingTM it is when I’m ballin on a reallly low budget lol
Good job
Thanks. I hope that the information is helpful.
Nissan just HAS to make shit difficult don’t they ??.or is it Japanese revenge ? Hahaha... just kidding
So, does anybody know where I can buy replacement bolts for that 80amp fuse? I dropped one and I’m pretty sure it fell into a wormhole. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it.
help please!! i have a 1999 frontier and the horn its not working , i tried looking for a fuse related to the horn but nothing
I'm having trouble I cnt open it to get through the fuse
Like this app
It’s a great app.
I have a 1997 Frontier and this happened to me but i dont know where that fuse is located in this truck could you help me with this?
Wish I knew. I hope you were able to figure it out.
Uao fuiste una tabla de salivación
I love his beards!
Thank you.
Hello thanks for thé video :-) i just buy Nissan Frontier 2006. 6cyl 4l. But the battery light- break - and sealt belt are open in dash. The battery and alternator are new. Can someone help me please. I see wire broke under the driver side ( maybe it's one of the ground ) thanks for helping me.
Would this cause crank no start conditions
My Kids World I don’t think so. It’s more like your battery is dead even if it’s replaced.
@@ManCrafting thanks
I have a nizzan frontier 1998 it starts but doesn't charge, has new battery and alternator
roberto otero i have a 1998 xe just replaced alt and Battery and I’ve changed the fuses. I have to jump it and at that I can barely get down the block if I use my break it does it I use anything in the truck it dies even when trying to shift from park to drive. Did you have any of these problems? If so any solution?
What's the fuse called ?
80A its on the fuse (should be) and i got one at autozone for $4
I connected my battery wrong by mistake and now my car doesn’t crank or nothing, now that I have the battery connected properly I only get power to the radio but my car is a no crank no start, do you think this fuse can cause a no crank no start for my situation?
Tony Borja what kind of car?
ManCraftingTM it’s a 1996 Nissan Maxima and actually I think I found the problem one of the 140 amp fuses are blown I will replace it tomorrow and see how it goes
Tony Borja awesome. That’s usually what happens. See if there is an engine fuse. That 140 may be it.
Tony Borja have you looked at your owners manual to see if it has an engine fuse similar tot he one in my truck? Did you say the battery was good?
My engine fuse keeps on blowing out i put a new it starts but then i turn it then back on but when i do it blows the fuse but my truck stays on when i turn it off and then restart it wont turn on..
Sounds like a short somewhere. Look for bare wire. Maybe an animal chewed on one of the wires. I’ve seen a lot of that over the years.
HD vrs Honda.
If 1 bolt will hold it and 2 will make sure..
Use 4..and the Japanese invasion began..
This is such a stupid design I'm selling my xterra.
Rick lyons I still have that Nissan. It’s now 17 years old. Changed the engine fuse once. Cheap and not to difficult and likely saved other expensive components from damage. How much are you asking for the Exterra?
