Tell you what man, learning to kick and carom has opened my game up so much. So many things I used to not be able to see, now I always have a shot it seems like. Love it!
Great video! Old school is put values onshort rail 20,.40,60,80. Place long rail values corner pocket 80. Up long rail 70,60,50 etc... Top short rail middle diamond 0, 30, cp 60. So cue ball is located in corner pocket (80) and object ball is at (40). Find 40 on far rail and shot center ball with one tip low, medium speed. For example is easier to remember.

Hello from Québec Canada. Last week, I played banking pool with friends. I was three banks away from victory. I had 3 balls on the short rail with the right angles. I got the three 4 rails shots in a row... I went to buy a lottery ticket! Thanks for the teaching Niels.

If you remember Chris Melling's legendary 8-ball run out where he hit the finally solid 4 rails, he essentially used this system... a stunned ball will always track towards that corner off the 4th rail.
Niels I gotta tell ya, these instructional pool videos you produce are second to none, the best on TH-cam! I am a pretty advanced player and most of the pool vids I watch are match replays. The only instructional material I'm at all interested in comes from you. I don't think anyone else making these kinds of videos has the experience, the credibility, or just plain skill to communicate this valuable information for pool players, especially at the higher levels.
This particular material on parallel shift systems is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. I have no doubt that a beginner level player can benefit from this material, but I don't think anyone could argue that most, or all of what you put out here can be a great benefit to players of ANY level, world champions included. Excellent work!

Yet another awesome video. This one is probably the best so far. The middle-diamond system is pretty cool however, I think the most valuable piece of information you provided is about stunning the ball into the rails for better consistency. This can be applied for almost all multi-rail kicks.
Although I can jump, I don't really care for it much. Anything that helps with kicking consistency is gold to me.

i knew this with another 4 rail kicking system which is the same angle connect the 2nd diamond on the short rail with the second diamond on the long rail counting from the other side of the table parallel shift and you are done.Thanks once again Niels !!

I just watched an oldtimers match from 1996 with Machine Gun Lou Butera. The commentators were talking about his spectacular Longoni cue; they said it was really something. In any case, kicking is one of my fave things; sometimes I actually hit the ball!!! hehe, but there are so many systems it can get confusing. This one is simple and I can't wait to try it out.
Yes don’t get too many systems in your head. Then you might get too confused. End of the day, set up some shots each day 10 min and get a feel for it. They systems are a tool not more 👍🏼👍🏼🔥😄

In that game ,rack 10 you must know that any deflection can pocket 9 ball positioned exactly on the corner pocket ...I know presure was huge especially against the magician
Anyway that game was EPIC , to win against best player in the world from 7-5 for him to 8-7 ..Epic

Awesome video, dude, this is GOLDEN info. How in heaven's name can an aiming system be that freakin SIMPLE, for such a complex question? These are the kinds of times I think that god/nature/whatever has got one hell of a sense of humor. I guess knowledge like this is what allowed Melling that INSANE shot that closed out probably the most insane run out I have ever witnessed. It's on YT if anyone is interested, and be ready to be blown away. Even Melling was, you could see him smile a couple of times, like "did that really just happen?".

Thank you Niels. For the pattern at 9:10, given how close the cue ball was to the rail, I thought it'd be tough to bridge properly to still aim low. I'm not sure if you have a video on this already, but maybe in a future video you could talk about different difficult bridging off the rail where you have to elevate to dig down on the ball?

I do parallel shift all the time but sometimes it doesnt work which is puzzling. I've mostly had a rolling ball vs the stun you are starting with. You might have solved a problem for me!
With as many pool videos as ive watched how have I not seen something like this? Excellently explained. On the 4 rail shots, when you stun and hit it hard does it matter that there is a slight hop to the cue ball?

Seems like an easy way to do the parallel shift by simply using diamond is every 2 diamonds on the long rail is 1 diamond on the short rail. If you want to think in percentages, if you go 50% down the long rail you go 50% along the short rail. It's simple geometry. It's easier to make sure you are on the right track if you use the diamonds than trying to keep your pool cue parallel while you shift. But if you like parallel shifting... that's fine too. you can use the diamonds to double check whether you accidentally changed your angle while shifting.

@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Hey, I have a question... I haven't tried this on a 9' table (no access), but I found that stun doesn't work on a 7' diamond table. I was able to manage the system to work if I go across from the 2nd diamond on the long rail and through the 1st diamond on the short rail with top spin. It goes at the 2nd diamond on the 3rd and 4th rails and to the corner pocket just like you demonstrate on this 9' table. Should it work on 7' and 8' tables the way you teach it for the 9' table? Some people claim that the table size does not matter. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or it could simply be the rails on the diamond tables play short.

@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen that’s so funny I work for mammoet in the United States but the home office is in the Netherlands.believe it or not most all of them have heard of Niels feijen. Most are surprised I know who you are.
Some systems are great but I think a natural feel for the shot is overlooked many times the first angle you see is the right one trusting yourself in my opinion is the best system. Eventually it becomes automatic.
You still would need to start with the system and shoot them over and over in order to get them to become automatic
Could this principle be used to send an object the same path for a safety play. Such as send the use less speed and get an object ball to that middle diamond on the short rail?
Yes you can use it, just keep in mind how old or new the cloth is for the slide.

Seems like when I focus a lot on doing drills that my pattern play starts lacking when I’m playing ghost ball. Any advice for that or just mix it up like you said ?
Does finding an imaginary spot on a distant wall or object work for the first part of this drill ? Pros and cons ?
As long as it is along the same line I don't see why it wouldn't but that might just be up to personal preference if aiming at the point on the rail or a point in the distance is more comfortable to the shooter. All comes down to contact with the right spot on the rail and a good stroke anyways

I understand losing is part of the game and sometimes it's just not your night. I seem to let my emotions eat me alive and when that happens my game goes down so much. Whats the point of first holding your cue out from the corner pocket? All youre doing is then moving it directly over the cue ball in a straight line. Why not just start from there?
I need my starting line and then use a parallel shift towards the cue ball. If I start from the cue ball I can aim anywhere, I have no reference point that way 👍🏼👍🏼😄💪🏼
