My mini ranking for the Accept albums with Mark Tornillo would be
    1. Blood Of The Nations
    2. Blind Rage
    3. Stalingrad
    4. Too Mean To Die
    5. Humanoid
    6. The Rise Of Chaos

It's got some good songs and I can imagine they will sound really good live.
Nobody gets out alive, diving into sin, unbreakable. Frankenstein is fun and straight up jack.
Nothing groundbreaking but it's a fun heavy metal/hard rock album.

Great video, Darcy! I love the modern Accept material, and to be honest, the Mark Tornillo era is almost exclusively the only era of Accept that I listen to. Very occasionally, I'll listen to "Restless and Wild" and "Balls to the Wall", but other than that, it's all the newer era. I will have to admit that I was a bit underwhelmed during the very first listen through the album - I kept waiting for the songs to jump out and grab me, but the moment never came. Having said that, it has gotten better for me with each listen. After the 3rd or 4th time through the album, I can say I'm a proud fan of this one! Mark sounds fantastic as always, and the guitar work is great, even if the song structures are a bit simpler this time around. Listening through the album again tomorrow and expect to continue enjoying it even more!

I picked up Balls To The Wall and Blood Of The Nations on the same day. So I've never had that "'No Udo, No Accept" mentality that I've seen online.
I don't know if it's Peter's departure or that they just set the bar too high with the first 3 albums, but I feel something is "missing" on the last 3 releases.
    1. Blind Rage
    2. Blood Of The Nations
    3. Stalingrad
    4. Too Mean To Die
    5. Humanoid
    6. The Rise Of Chaos

Peter was such a big part of Accept, I don’t think he was allowed to have enough creative input near the end. His backing vocals are awesome, I would’ve even had him singing lead on at least one track per album. Have you ever heard Dirkschneider & The Old Gang? Fantastic 4 track EP, check out the song Face Of A Stranger, Peter shares vocals. Thanks as always 🤘 Cheers Mr.D

Hey Darcy! Thanks for this review/ranking. Enjoyable as always! Also wanted to let you know I just got tickets to see Testament/Kreator/Possessed in Michigan at the end of September. I am so excited for this one. Didn’t know if this tour was coming to the states and Canada but was stoked when I found out it was. They are not coming to Buffalo where I currently live but my brother lives outside of Detroit, MI so it worked out perfect. I’ll actually be moving out to Michigan by the end of the year. Unfortunately both of my parents recently passed away and I was helping to take care of them but now that they are gone, I decided to give up my job in insurance and make the move. If I don’t do it now, I never will. Anyway, what an incredible lineup. Like you, I’m a huge Testament and Kreator fan and having Possessed third billed is a nice bonus! Can’t wait for this one. Take care buddy 🤘🏻

  • @craigamorosi6880

Man what a great year for metal so far!
So I've been enjoying this album, just like every other release since Blood of the Nations and i don't think it's a measurable step up or down from any of their other releases since then. "Blood" stands head and shoulders above the rest, but the others have been about equal for me.
You mentioned Uwe Lulis co-writing Frankenstein...yeah, he's wasted in Accept. He played on several Grave Digger albums that were perfect 10s and in Grave Digger knockoff Rebellion, which also had two near perfect albums (Miklagard and Arise) before he split. I actually like three of the Grave Digger albums he played on better than anything Accept has ever released, which is saying something.
I've gotta disagree on Man Up and Straight Up Jack! I've always enjoyed "Accept Does AC/DC" and Man Up and Straight Up Jack are great, goofy lyrics and all. 🤣
Anyways, in the eternal duel between UDO and Accept, I think UDO's Touchdown wins this round.
Great video as always and I look forward to your updated Accept ranking.

    • @darcysixstringsninelives3493
      @darcysixstringsninelives3493  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

You couldn’t be more right about Uwe Lulis, the 5 Grave Digger albums from ‘93s The Reaper thru to ‘99s Excalibur are so damn good! He is wasted, but I don’t blame him for wanting a steady paycheque. Thanks for the kind words, always appreciated 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy

Going to see them live this fall for the first time. Ive seen UDO live before and he was great. Im hoping they are better live than these sometimes boring predictible / generic albums lately. And the lyrics... an AI might do a better job at lyrics at this point lol. I might pick it up if I see a cheap copy. Humanoid single is not bad. Fun Heavy Metal album, not too serious. Good riffs as well. Cheers Darcy 🤘

Good to hear your opinion Darcy. I think the new songs are really predictable & samey to me. Haven't heard the whole album but I really don't enjoy the recent albums. I just find they all sound the same, the music is uninspiring & the lyrics are just dumb to be honest. You mentioned a really interesting point about the albums having the same producer & maybe that's why I find each of the recent albums sound so much the same & no album really has its own identity. 🤘 from Australia 🇦🇺

Cool Megadeth shirt! I don’t like the chorus of Diving into Sin. I don’t mind Ravages or Straight Up. Straight Up reminds me of Life’s a Bitch. Probably Tornillo’s doing. He was in an AC/DC cover band down the Jersey shore before he got the Accept gig. I like this album if I skip the 1st song. My favorite Metal show on TH-cam. Darcy What's up? Well after close to 5 years of hanging with you on this channel you are reading my mind. You nailed it with your review on how I exactly feel about this album. I am actually listening to this album as I am typing this comment and I have been listening to it pretty much since its release. I do like the album, but very much the same, same. Unbreakable and The Reckoning are excellent, and Diving into Sin and Humanoid are fine but please no more ballads. Nobody and Man Up get my head bopping, but I'd take an entire album written and played like Southside of Hell which is an absolute barn burner. I believe Accept is a band that is comfortable, and this is what to expect until proven otherwise. Darcy take care my friend and as always stay heavy!!!

    Each and every afternoon
I get hearts and tears (Hey), wows and cheers (Ho)
I never even leave my room
    I need instant *gratification*
    I'm an overnight *sensation*
    A subject of *adoration*
    Overnight *sensation*
    Gonna be an overnight *sensation*
"I wanna be famous for nothin'
    Just like a *Kardashian*
Tell the world my whole lifе story
Even though I don't have one
I can tеach you to paint by number
How to freshen up your page
    You're gonna get my opinions
    * 'Cause I'm a boss, and it's my stage*
    .....
So of course also had to check out "Straight Up Jack"
    No sugar, no *spice*
Keep the soda, hold the *ice*
    Vodka neat, coffee *black*
    Steady pour, don't hold *back*
    No
A Long Island, a tall glass
Make mine a double and make it fast
*Full shot of whisky, twice the rum*
Mas tequila, now keep 'em coming
No training wheels, keep the salt and *lime*
Just bring it to me right on *time*
Give it to me straight up Jack
    Straight up Jack
    Oh, don't gimme no flack
Just give it to me straight up Jack
Tell your story, make it *quick*
No sugar coating, don't make me *sick*
Go on and tell it like it is
Without the icing and no twist
Get to the point and give it a *push*
    Don't beat around the *bush*
Give it to me straight up Jack
    Straight up Jack
I won't cut you no slack
Just give it to me, just give it to me
    Straight up Jack
Full strength, get to the *truth*
    Gimme that hundred *proof*
Give it to me straight up Jack
    Straight up Jack
    Gimme that stack
Just give it to me, just give it to me
    Straight up Jack

Good review, it's no classic but it's as good as or better than Too Mean To Die. Overall it's a mid ranking Accept album, better than some of the 90s output for certain.

Even tbrough im a Young (German) guy in my Late 20s and I startet really discovering Accept with Mark in the band, Im a big UDO guy. I love all those early Albums and the First thing I heard from them was Breaker on my fathers Collection when Mark was not quite in the band. I saw them 4 Times live sincr 2014 and it went live exactly Like on the Albums… Downhilll. First Show was Great, Like the First Mark Tornillo Album Blood of the Nations was, next Show 2015 was still very good but After that 2017 and 2018 went Downhill pretty fast. They Looked and sounded bored as hell, and I get the same thing from those last Albums. I Must admit that the new one is better then the last ones for me, but nowhere near the First two Mark Tornillo Albums or even the last U.D.O Releases. Its Like a 3/5 Album for me, Not Bad but nothing Special either. Live I will only Go to those Dirkschneider Shows with Udo and now Peter in the band where Udo only plays Classic Accept, they have me much more Energy then The Real Accept does in that last Shows and Udo is the real Deal. But I will still pumping that First 2-3 Tornillo Albums regualy, since they are good to Great Albums for sure.

I love this comment, you pretty much summed it up! I’m really looking forward to the new U.D.O. where Peter will have more of a hand in the song writing. People think any bass player will do the job, but Peter has a special sound to me & his backing vocals are great! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada

@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I think it will make a good difference too. Peter is a Great Songwriter and Udo knows it. The differance between U.D.O and Accept is that Udo lets his band take big Part of Songwriting and Wolf dosnt, plus U.D.O/Dirkschneider is was more energetic, powerfull and fun to Watch live These days.

For me the album is uninspired, lifeless, without new ideas, which was also the case with the last albums "To Mean to Die" and "The rise of Chaos". Maybe that has something to do with Peter Baltes' exit and his personal relationship. We'll see his influences on the next U.D.O. album. Sneap's production is good as ever, but maybe he has too many influences, which I don't think is a good thing. Overall its a good metal album, but if the name accept is on it there has to be more. I give it a 6.5/10.

I’ve loved Accept since the early 80’s. But, other than one song, in my opinion, this album is awful. The lyrics stand out as being particularly bad. It’s the first Accept album that I won’t be buying. Oh well, to each his own. Check out the new single from Knights of the Realm, if you haven’t heard it. It’s classic metal with amazing guitar work.
