    I need that tool. That’s a must for big long slope windows like on sports cars.

    Regarding lighting, I find that it's important to shine the light perpendicularly onto the glass. So, for example, to ensure the windscreen is streak free, it's best to stretch out and shine the light at right angles at the glass - don't just rely on a head torch on your head. (I detail in my dark garage, and rely on a very powerful head torch with a very even, wide, beam, most of the time). Btw, as a chauffeur, I keep my glass in pristine condition - on a couple of occassions a passenger has noticed, but thought it was just very clear air outside. 😡

    Because i often clean windows from people that use their vehicles and never clean them i use a commercial glass cleaner to get the large amount of filth then afterwards i have a clean rag and dirty so instead of flipping the rag to buff off i use a separate one (still flip them to a clean side per use). I just find its easy for me to forget what side is dirty or the moisture seaps thru the rag a bit so it just makes it easier for me to use a separate rag. Great video always love new tips or tricks you never know when you will find a new one that will make your life so much easier or better

    I find (on untinted windows) if u seal clean them than follow up with a glass cleaner afterwards. Makes a huge difference in removing that dirt film and not re distributing it to cause streaks

    Another tip especially when it’s warm is to wear gloves so the sweat/oils from your hand don’t contaminate the towel. 👍

    • @angelseliteautodetailing
      @angelseliteautodetailing 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Might be tedious as gloves will produce sweat and drip down all over the console

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@angelseliteautodetailing it does! I wear sweatbands on my wrists. I wear gloves basically *all* the time when working. I've seen and heard too many horror stories of cracked painful hands for the rest of your life after too much chemical exposure. Not interested in destroying my body working only to retire and live in pain for my golden years. ✌✌

    • @robertsmith8632

      @@jdisdetermined I also wear disposable gloves when detailing and you are sart to do that. I've been through training courses that explain how the skin is like a sponge and will soak up what we put on it but most who haven't had that training just don't understand. Always wear gloves. Second reason is because clean rubber gloves will not leave oils on both glass and paint or chrome so it eliminates any need to go back around and check for fingerprints. I've been at it for 30 years and learned this one early on - it really saves time.

    Hey Todd I have also used that rag company towel to clean glass and it works. Have you tried using the TRC purple Korean Pearl towel? It’s the same exact materials as that blue one you are working and works amazing. Zero lint and the first true towel I have found that work.

    awesome awesome awesome. Question: can we clay the windshield? Look, I know TC hates clay. I don't use it except when absolutely needed before a polish, ok? Glass ain't paint (not really), and you can even use a harder clay. the windshield won't mar, won't haze. then clean it again. then rainx and buff it up. thoughts?

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do it if you feel you need to. But make sure it's fresh clay.

    I bought that hand tool, but I was not a fan of the covers to clean the glass. Do you use the manufacturer covers, or do you use a different brand? This has been my biggest challenge and I spend way too much time on glass

    Two words for you all, and I'm REALLY surprised very few people know about this: MAGIC ERASER!

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And a word of caution to any who may read this...DO NOT use one of those on tint (or paint)!!!!

    • @giorgos13ization
      @giorgos13ization 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      After using magic eraser I observed that the windshield lost some of its clarity(only while wet) and hydrophobicity. It’s like there was a layer on the top of the windshield and it got removed with the magic eraser leading to a strange behaviour of the glass. Do you know anything about it? Let me refer that at this car’s windshield I hadn’t use any sealant,coating or anything else.

    • @Esotericdetail
      @Esotericdetail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@giorgos13ization ...exactly why we don't condone the use of aggressive methods on the outer surface of the windshield!

    • @ntartaris
      @ntartaris 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guys.....I'm talking about using the magic eraser on the INNER side of the windshield glass. I used the eraser DAMP, not dripping wet, and do not use much force. Very little effort is needed. This will not damage the glass. I also don't condone using it on tint. But privacy glass, where the tint is "in" the glass, there should be no issue.
