thank for your fun video! My father told me the food you show, is actually more Bolognese (they eat more beans in Florence). He told me, in Florence they eat very, very good steaks called Fiorentina. It was the best I’ve ever had.
Among the larger public (outside italy), I thought it was largely unknown that steak 🥩 called Fiorentina, and not so much pasta, is what Tuscany is famous for.
Ragu is actually eaten everywhere in Italy, and the Bolognese variety is actually different than the one in the video (less tomato and more thick). Pork and ceci is tipical of Tuscany. Fiorentina steak is worldwide famous but it's something regular people eat at most once in month.
Useful and the way you say what is being prepared is making me hungry now. I really like these casual eateries which offer tasty meals. Btw i copied your recipe for pasta you made for your cali fam last christmas and made that same carbonara meal with eggs, cheese and boar cheek pancetta. Cheers… enjoying your positive videos and hopefully i catch your reports during the cycling season!
Good job and great recommendation! As a local, Sabatino is one of my goto places since, well, forever. Ilaria, the owner seen running around with glasses and a ponytail in the video, is a true force of nature and -I believe- the third generation of the family running the restaurant. You're absolutely correct there's better restaurants in Florence but as far as quality/price goes, Sabatino is truly one of a handful -- and most importantly, what you get there is what you'd have at home -- and despite getting international attention since the late Anthony Bourdain filmed a special there years ago, it still preserves its character (and typed menus!). To everyone planning a visit: save space for dessert, they're heavenly!

@@GregorBrown it’s a pizza a taglia on Via dei Cimatori, near the palazzo Vecchio. It’s the best pizza we’ve had in Italy, and the atmosphere there was always amazing.
Of course, people do not refuse free money, but just consider that it is not custom for Italians or Europeans to give or receive tips. It's a USA thing. If you do leave any money, just 1 or €2 on the table is fine and you don't have to make a fuss about it or hand it directly to the waiter, but just leave it on the table.

When we were in Italy, never ever did they refuse a tip from us.

When I'm not eating out like this, I am very attentive what I eat at home and also the amount of calories I take in each day.
