Thank you for the Video. My wife and best friends are cruising the Mediterranean for 10 days starting from Athens, Greece on November 9, 2023. We will be in Florence on Friday, November 17th, 2023. I could not figure out where to make our reservation so I sent an email to the restaurant. Yours was the second video highlighting this place so I simply want to say thank you.
€167! To be honest for two people thats pretty decent value for what you had! Tgeres a chain of steakhouses in the UK called Miller & Carter and i took my wife and two young adult kids to one for my wifes 50th birthday. It was a no hold's barred, have anything you want meal with 3 courses, wine, beer, cocktails, and the price? Just under £400! Suddenly your meal seems like a good deal eh! Great vid as usual!👍👏👏👏♥️🏴🇮🇹
Do you know if they’ll do a Florentine steak that isn’t 5 lbs lol?? Seriously… how do you ask them to cut a smaller piece that’s not as humongous as ones I’ve seen on TH-cam? Also, assuming there’s leftovers, is it appropriate to take the rest with you or no? Thanks
For a smaller portion of the Florentine steak, don’t hesitate to ask the restaurant if they can accommodate your request - many are willing to offer variations, but the lowest is usually 700g. As for leftovers, it’s usually fine to ask to take them with you, but not really done here in Europe. Enjoy your steak! 🥩🍴
What if I travel solo? I can’t finish a kilogram of meat on my own! Lol.. Is there a smaller portion? Or are there any food tours that offer Florentine Steak for group sharing?
Solo travel does pose that challenge with big portions like a Florentine steak! Some restaurants might offer half portions, or 700g, but joining a food tour could be a great way to enjoy it in a group and not miss out. Always worth asking! 🥩
I swear, i ate all types of wagya a5‘s, black anguses. But the bistecca alla fiorentina was the best piece of steak i had. It wasnt the fattiest or the softest. But it had the best flavour taste and bite
Cooking steak isn't rocket science but it is an art...to get medium rare, because I see that messed up too many times. But, rare steak that is reasonably hot and not dripping with blood using just the grill and no oven or sous vide, or some Bluetooth high tech thermometer stuck in it is skill.
Hay fratello just had a Skake fries and salad in Perth here with mushroom sauce … and Carlton draft beer 🍺 if your around in June let me know man I’m comeing home for a bit
The Italian word, "bistecca," itself, is a corruption of the English term, _beefsteak;_ very likely first used locally in the 1800s to satisfy a foreign clientele. Not everything in Florence _has_ to be blamed on the Medici family.
Fascinating insight about 'bistecca'! Florence's culinary scene is indeed rich and influenced by various cultures over the centuries. Thanks for adding to the conversation!
I ordered the bisteca steak in n Italy and only a few cm on each side was cooked. It was red in the middle. It was good steak but not cooked properly. Steak should not be red inside
Quite overrated.......I was not impressed when considering the price/value ratio: the steaks I have had in US steakhouses are far superior in marbling, flavor, and surely cooking technique--these Florence steaks lack the superb crust--I dont mind the rare cooking temp, they are just underwhelming compared to a dry-aged beautifully marbled USDA prime ribeye under the 1000 degree specialized broiler or wood fire of a top US steakhouse. When he says 'delicate', translate into 'lacking in flavor'.......
Wait until you come here and try them. And yes, there are many other steakhouses, and this one is one of the most tourist places, but there are many down home places that you'll enjoy.

Bistecca alla Fiorentina is the best famoso in Italia ❤
Absolutely! Bistecca alla Fiorentina is a true Italian culinary gem. It's a must-try for anyone visiting Florence. 🥩🇮🇹❤️
Watch this 3 times and I can't wait to taste that steak in 2 weeks.

Try their carbonara !!
@@juancorchado4002 thanks. I will
Hi What was the location you went to? Are there 3 locations or 4?
Is the location near the central Cathedral
What street were you on when you were mentioning Trattoria Mario? It looks so beautiful and I’d like to visit it at night!!!!

Gooooood!!!!
so good!
You are making me jealous!☺
ahaha!! sorry
suuuper!!!!
yes!!!!!
90 bucks a plate? My heart! But it did look delicious, so I better start saving.
This type of steak is expensive. Yes.
I swear, i ate all types of wagya a5‘s, black anguses. But the bistecca alla fiorentina was the best piece of steak i had. It wasnt the fattiest or the softest. But it had the best flavour taste and bite
It's usually for two people.
I had one in Florence last year. If I ever go back, I will not order side dish. Instead, i will order two steaks. It is so delicious.
Good choice! LOL!!! Yes.. 2!
That steak looked delicious, but I would call it medium rare.
it was good!

well said. They really cook a good steak. And there are some AMAZING steakhouses in Florence to try.

Oh. A shake? Reminds me of the USA!
Stake sorry 🥩 and fries 🥔🥗
haha, I understand, you mean Steak :) But a Shake is good too!
The Bistecca alla fiorentina must to be cooked over hardwood charcoal, not a gas grill. Looks like that kitchen was using a gas grill.
why sun glasses??
I'm a diet coke freak I don't drink coffee, so is soda available with food
In Italy, you drink wine, water or soda when eating. No coffee...

Didnt seem like u like fat that wer the flavor is y leev so much fat dont need a knife but u did to cut fat off
Don't remember, sometimes I'll have some sometimes not.
I ordered the bisteca steak in n Italy and only a few cm on each side was cooked. It was red in the middle. It was good steak but not cooked properly. Steak should not be red inside
That's how it's properly cooked in Italy you don't want it as hard as leather
😂😂ma che dici ?🤔🤔 Vuole proprio rossa internamente .😉😉
