If the third kid really intends to animate that character, I pity his hands and eyes, to draw such a complex character over and over again would take ages.
Which gives the kid all the more reason to do it. It'll help him grow TENFOLDS as an artist and animator while working with perspectives, and it may very well kick him off on working on even bigger projects like actual movies that get released to theaters. Dont pity him, cheer for him - because shit. If this kid keeps it up, he'll be a an actual pro by the time he graduates high school
I see your point, but I was just thinking of it in the sense that, I wouldn't be surprised if that character would take at least an hour to draw, and for a smooth animation you need about 24 frames per second (it is possible to use a lower FR), that's essentially a whole day's worth of drawing to get a second of animation. Whether he wanted to animate it digitally or traditionally I'm not sure, perhaps it would take less time digitally. There's also the factor that being an artist, and being an animator both require slightly different skill sets. He should keep that aim, I'd just think that it would be good to simplify the character for animating efficiency purposes. Thanks for sharing your opinion though, hope I didn't sound negative , just thinking practically.
Actually if you animate a charecter you draw often it gets much easier. But ya the first time you animate a complex charecters it sucks. Gets easier though

Even still... tracing is what kickstarted my love and ability of drawing, but I wouldn't try to say I freehand drew it... I freehand traced it :) I have to give the kid kudos for getting into it that way and encourage him to try doing his own interpretations and eventually find his own style.

Tracings not a bad thing unless you sell it as your own, or leak traced art that was supposed to be paid for. Lethal didn't try and sell his art so the kid's in the clear. Yooo I love watching these vids! Super cool. The transformation is awesome. As an artist though I've noticed as you get older it's a lot harder drawing like you did when you are a kid. They are so free with their art in such a beautiful way!
9:26 you’re an amazing artist and all, but I genuinely prefer the original. I like the range of colors more (even though I know you said you couldn’t spend a ton of time on it), and the original looks meaner and more mysterious. Your version looks deceptively playful. Like it’s kind an element of humor in the personality. Which is totally fine, but I prefer the more B.A. mysterious character. I like the shading on the scythe more, too. It makes the scythe feel more like it’s a grungy, worn out, used weapon. Yours feels like it’s a brand new shiny scythe lol which again, isn’t a bad thing, just not my preference. Great job though at interpreting it!

The second child has recreated a drawing by someone called Chris Straver. I believe the image he has is by him but the images on the walls are prints of his work. But that child can draw extremely well.

The coolest thing about the second piece of art that he recreated, is that the original looks better at least in my opinion. The water color type look and shading with all the armors details, it is just an awesome thing to see come from someone so young!

Well, the kid also used 'Lord of Demons' which is sadly not Dutch. (It would be awesome if I got to use 'Lord of Demons' in my everyday Dutch life) Not trying to be rude or anything
In America, we've got Homecoming in the fall and Prom in the spring. That's it for my high school anyway. And only juniors and seniors can go to Prom (unless an upperclassmen has asked you).

In England we have a prom, too. We always have one at the end of year 11, but some schools do some at the end of year 6, especially in the west.

It's a wonderful idea, but what you could do (to make yourself more visible) is to post it on his blog channel (maybe not right now, since he's on paternity leave, but in about a month?). He has a special program that shows him the comments that start with the "Q:" and often checks them to answer the "question of the day" - picks the one with most likes. Even if he won't pick yours, he will still see it and might take some inspiration from it! He has this giant calendar where he sticks various ideas. This would be a big project, which might take a whole day to finish and even more to prepare, so he might need to postpone it a bit (to make other big projects first), but if he likes your idea, he'll certainly do it at some point!
Jazza talking about how Australia doesn’t have prom made me remember that places don’t have the same cultures. It gave me a sort of reality check that there’s more to the world than just you.
Also Jazza Americans(at least where I live) have Prom towards the end of their senior year.
