Transport NSW needs to start listing the length of each escalator at metro & train stations. As someone with vertigo, using the escalators at Kings Cross & Central Stations platform 24-25 daily used to scare the crap out of me. Particularly when people are passing you on them in a hurry. Knowing the length of a station escalator would definitely help people in a similar situation determine if an elevator/lift is the better option instead of the long escalators, particularly with the new long metro station ones.
@@suave-rider The idea of the list isn't to fix vertigo. It's to recognise when to take an elevator/lift as opposed to getting to the top of an escalator and having that feeling of impending doom as you look down at how far you are about to go.
Yeah the 45 m one at Central is the best escalator better than the old 17 m long one that was at Martin Place 50 years ago, just don't get caught riding on top of the black belt okay?
Was that Berejiklian just next to you at the beginning? You should have said thank you. This is her project. She deserves full credit. Bit barren and connections are circuitous and slow. Would be nice to make the Connections the Reward with more retail, cafés, barber shops, fast supermarkets and restaurants. Lively instead of sterile and empty.
Spent my weekend having a glimspe at the station (started in chastwood, as i live in northern beaches) and headed downwards to central, got hungry there and got sleepy after lunch so went back home). Considering doing a pub crawl metro style from sydneham to chastwood one day (since at least there a pub nearby at all those stations, and yes there are some in the northwest stations but they are just that bit too far to walk from the stations and after being inked up, yeah).
The Metro is good for some, BUT people who suffer anxiety and vertigo really suffer dealing with the way this has been built. Sad how as usual a large minority of people are excluded from something that should be for everyone.
Oh no I think you missed the biggest entrance, the northern end of Martin Place? There’s 3 ways in and you only showed two! Agh and you also missed the big southern entrance to Victoria Cross! Look for the electronic sun dial on the wall above the escalators. Ah well you’ve got more to discover, so that’s the good news.
Trains that only have seats facing sideways, a big NO for me. I hate trying to look out the window on the other side without people thinking that you are looking at them. Should be more seats for people to sit down, it gets bad during peak hour.
Got on the first train and it was really fun. I go all the way to the end.
Thank You Sharing
Thanks a lot! I can hardly wait to explore!
Looks really nice, I'll have to try it next time in in Sydney!
I like how they've fixed it so that now the announcement on which side doors will open doesn't happen concurrently with the doors opening
The stations are incredibly impressive. 🤩 Thanks for the video!
Yeah, I’m impressed too, you should come to Sydney and check them out!
@@JoshGoesSlow I might have been there this morning …🤔
@@FromtheWindowSeat awesome! Did you make a video? Let me know next time you’re here, it’d be nice to meet up!
@@JoshGoesSlow I did. Well, I recorded one … editing it is another thing. 😂 My editing can’t keep pace with my capturing.
Sounds good!

What? A spoiler alert?

Have you been on the one at Epping 😲 it's damn steep

@@whophd My mistake 02:52. Thought it was the lady next to the guy in the suit. Not her.
Gadigal IS my favourite station!!

A pub crawl sounds like a great idea!
A lot of people's first time to use the phrase Welcome To Sydenham.
It's the end of the line

"A train nerds version of a Taylor Swift concert" I like it
now they need to upgrade all the other stations to make it look modern😅

Did you miss Gadigal south entrance and Martin Place north?
And the second entrances at Victoria Cross and Crows Nest.
@RyanJacobs496 I had no plan to go to every entrance, I just wanted a quick Look at the stations (plus I had to be at work 🤣)
😮

So Josh no longer goes slow!
Too bad they didn't finish the North West Metro from Talawong to St Marys. It's a Metro to nowhere.
