    If you changed the seats in the other fiat that are lighter they would probably balance the weight a little more...Your doing an awesome job...Thanks for sharing.

    Cool videos! BTW, the steering wheel airbag can be replaced. There's a few TH-cam videos showing that. Also, the thing on the windshield is a humidity sensor for the climate control. I'm looking forward to see what kind of mods you can do with the battery pack & motor!

      Yeah, kind of figured it out later. There are two small holes that need to be poked to release the bag. I was in teardown mode, not 'carefully remove to replace' mode. 😇

      Glad you like them. I like your ercoupe. It would be even better if it could be converted to Electric power... like the orange spacepod. Ciao

    Yea, the orange head rests are in my car, in case you were wondering. They look much better than the black.
    I had the window regulator bracket that holds up the window break in my 500e. Turns out replacing it isn't that tough, the trick is peeling back that foam liner without ripping it. Amazon had the whole electric motor regulator for only $76, and I got it next day.

    YUS!!! I've been so excited to see this! I wonder if the Fiat 500e BMS would work with a van? I'm considering purchasing 2 to make a 48KWH batterypack...

    • @theevolvingworld
      @theevolvingworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a lot more than just a BMS to worry about. The second pack would have to be run in parallel to keep the voltage correct. We'll be playing around with newer higher capacity cells at some point.

    How hard was it to remove the battery pack?
    Is it under the interior or under the body?

    Heard ya there at the end... Yes over clocking would be great. It is my goal also. Especially want to overcome the off the line power limited by the software as per the Bosch engineers.

      It might even just be traction control. Although, I can still make the wheels spin pretty easy on the wet or if floored. The mid to upper range seems to drop off excessively.

    Did you manage to swap in a lighter or sportier car 🚗 the electric ⚡️ of this 500e?

    Hi, I would like to install a front camera in the front bumper. Based on your experience, how and where would you recommend me to pass the wires from the front bumper to the rear of the aftermarket radio?

    • @theevolvingworld
      @theevolvingworld  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's easy. Pick a grouping of wires nearest the camera & run yours adjacent back to the firewall. There are a couple of existing rubber grommets, pick one with room for your wire, & poke thru. I used the one the hood latch cable goes thru. Maybe fishtape or just a slotted screwdriver might work to help guide it. Then , it's straight to the radio.

      @@theevolvingworld thank you, I'll try

      @danielebonanno5678 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theevolvingworld I tried as you said using the rubber grommets of the hood latch cable, but I can't do it. I have tried both with a screwdriver and with the fishtape.
      Do I need to disassemble or remove something? What other rubber grommets can I use (maybe more accessible)?
      Could you help me please?

    • @theevolvingworld
      @theevolvingworld  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@danielebonanno5678 That's really the easiest to access existing hole. You just need something pointy to pierce thru the rubber. Then, use a screwdriver or fishtape to guide the wire thru. That's where I brought my wires in for the add-on air horn.

    To remove the steering wheel. It’s like EVERY newer car. You use a smaller Allen wrench and there are holes on the back side of the piece you cut off. Air bag pops off and a single bolt removes the steering wheel.
    My 500e now has an abarth steering wheel on it.
    Good thing they aren’t throw away. Lol

    • @theevolvingworld
      @theevolvingworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did figure that out later. It just choked me up a bit, at the time.

    Suggest you use tripod & time lapse for some disassemble shot. That’ll be better. Thx.

      Actually, I did this as well for the first three episodes. I just didn't feel it blended with the POV footage. There may be a future video showing the Teardown: six days in six minutes (or maybe even 60 seconds for the super short attention span people ). 🙄

    wow steering wheel bag goes off the car is done ..throw away car ? you mean if a acident happens the car is totaled ?

    • @theevolvingworld
      @theevolvingworld  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not as bad, as I originally thought. Two tiny holes on either side need pins to release. Although the dash, seat side & upper head airbags are all very embedded in. Only the knee bag is easy to replace.
