    The day I posted this video I got a load for 1300 miles that pays 4k to the truck. At 33% that's $1320 for one load. At .51 cpm that's $663.

      My question is, do the loads always pay round 1,000 or more to the truck?? Or is pay to truck dependent on miles the load is going. Because I've seen like dry-van (I kno that's totally different ball-game, but just for example) loads that only pay like 6-700 for the load, let's say 700=if your haulin that 1000 miles @ 26% is only $182, but @ .45cpm ur at $450. So in that case cpm is WAAAAYYY better. But, is that like a total "non-cenario"/wuld never happen in flat-bed?? Im bout to start my career trucking-- I wanna do flatbed to start, but get into haz-mat, tanker, & heavy-haul as I gain experience. & REALLY torn btwn TMC & Swift as my 1st company/training/& getting my cdl. I kno swift has a bad rep; but, from wut I've seen, it's really those individuals drivers bein stupid, makin dumba$$ decisions/no common-since. But, from wut I'm seein/learnin bout TMC, for what I want in my future/out of my career, TMC is lookin like it'd be the better company & specializes more in what I wanna do.

      What was your deadhead at miles at %?,this is $3.25/mile to the truck,unreal in this market,freight is just not paying that right now,how much is TMC paying you to sale?,something is not right,just sayin,long time truck O/O here.

    The best way to set misinformation straight is that just about all trucking companies are never honest about what the load pays gross, to the truck and in any way shape or form if they could skim a couple of bucks from the driver and they will do so. If you get paid by percentage especially when freight rates go down requires you to work the same hard long hours for less money. This would be like having an hourly job where once in a couple of weeks the employer takes a few bucks off an hour For you to do the same work. Mileage pay is always around 10 to 12% less than you actually drive. With today’s technology door-to-door GPS should be a fairway to pay a driver, but they don’t. They use different phrases like practical route, ZIP Code ZIP Code, or HHG. these practices have been common in the trucking industry for the last 70 years. Sometimes it is not a drivers fault if he hast to ride around construction, accident, etc., but it’s hard pressed to get a company to pay extra miles, even though that is time out of your logbook. best way to go is to find a trucking job, and there are many out there that pay by the hour, especially with overtime.

    I drove for TMC 1997-2007 8yrs o/o. % only way to go and if you flatbed TMC the only way to go. If you want the most $ the best training and the best eqpt. The best safety dept. Then you want TMC!!!! I will retire from the state of IN. OCT 2022 I will be 62. When I came to TMC 1997 I had just retired from the USN. TMC is selective on who they hire. My class started with 22 and at the end of training 9 of us were left. In my day drivers called TMC [THE MARINE CORPS] as a retired 8404 grunt Corpsman I liked that. TMC is harder to get hired into. Training is tough. However if you make it sky is the limit.

    • @LawfulGiraffe
      @LawfulGiraffe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on what company you work for. No matter where you go for flatbed, you'll be hands on with all your loads. Van or reefer very. Some companies are no touch freight and others you do all the work.
      Trucking is very much a life style no matter what you do. Know why you're doing it and don't settle for anything less.

    • @LawfulGiraffe

      It was just an example number. There are loads that pay way more or less for 1000 miles. Also idk about an industry standard because not every company offers percentage.
