St. Joseph is THE role model for men throughout the ages! He taught Jesus to be a man, he was a King, a mystic, a hero, he's the defender of the Church, terror of demons, and the model of masculinity that complemented the femininity of Mary, mother of God, among other things. St. Joseph pray for us.
@edm-london1660 the question posed to Bishop Barron was which Saint is a good example for men. Not sure how you're comment is relevant. Christ is the model for all, obviously.
We are close to same age Bishop Barron .I was raised with 3 Brothers Interesting as I had to fend for myself .. Loved and Remember Pope John Paul II . Thanks for your Insights? God Bless You Both ! Forget that woke nonsense , looking for new work after a lay off. After 10 years same place . It's hard ..I worked my way to Sort of Blue Collar finally. Not easy ! God Bless You all 🙏🏻💖 Wish you all the Best this Advent Season
We all are so different. I as a young girl girl loved two things: climbing a tree to be alone and read my book, or riding my bicycle, exploring everyplace, by myself. And I loved singing Gregorian chant in the schola. The boys liked rough and tumble, and the girls were so often chatty and gossipy - and I enjoyed company on a one onto one sense, and talking/listening to both boys and girls in that way. I appreciate Bishop Barron's point of view, but he must learn that some girls love adventure (not the rough and tumble) and a sense of mission. I often dreamed of being alone on an island, exploring... Thank you, God, for books, music, and the beauty of nature and art! and kayaks and sailing! had a wonderful husband (QEPD) with whom I could share all this. Now watching Bishop Barron! Re-read Simone Weil and Sigrid Undset please!
Simone Weil was not behaviorally a girl for a minute. Simone de Beavoir was. Weil was perhaps on the autistic spectrum. She was not defined by gender in the slightest but by her intellect, compassion, mysticism, bravery, originality- all born in her to an extraordinary degree.
My father is unequivocally my hero too, so I was moved to hear Bishop Barron say that. One of his many pearls of wisdom is "Men keep the world moving forward, and women protect and nurture what already exists.". Without women in it, the world would be a bloodbath. And without men and their drive forward toward challenge and conquering, the world would stagnate. It reflects the perfect Divine intention that we exist equally in The duality of the physical world, and only in coming together does the human race continue.
No offense to Bishop Barron. But Sheen wouldn’t try so hard to sound tolerant and diplomatic, he’d say it how it is. People think that this is how to succeed, “meet them where they’re at”, but time and time again this proves not to be the case. We need to say what we think and mean what we say. It’s why Trump wins and more reasonable picks like De Santis or Ramaswamy do not.
Women lose their purpose too. A strong woman needs those strong men to help us continue to stay strong. Women need each other, too! The same as men go out camping, hiking, etc. As a woman who really likes the rough and tumble jobs, hiking camping, kayaking, etc. I need to find some friends in my own town who like to do those hobbies, and jobs, too. I had those friends; now I am starting over, making new friends; and that's normal. Thank you for building us up by encouraging us to keep building our consciences, emotional stability, spiritual health, Bishop Barron.
One of the best places I have seen men & women, meditating segregated but both challenged to be with the reality of themselves. In general (not in all cases) they process differently. It is a beautiful place to know thy self.
Men and women are made complementary. One cant exist without the other. I agree a 100% There is also a mix in interest. Girls who are up for challenge and adventure and boys who do need some safe spaces from time to time. It cannot be as black and white as described by Bishop here. I am a long time follower and have great respect for your courage and mission Bp. Barron. The Holy Mass (Misso) calls both men, women and even children on the Mission! Keep up the great work. God Bless you and keep you!
When I got my MS in instructional design, I hated how my professors insisted that the phrase "learning style" is invalid and not scientifically credible. Thank you, Bishop, for debunking this nonsense at 7:30. What I witness with my own learners indeed shows that people of all different types have different learning styles.
I worked with a physicist. He grew up in the ghetto of D.C. and was in prison for armed robbery and attempted murder. A man reached out to him and had him focus on education. He eventually earned a master’s degree in physics. Here’s where it gets interesting and admirable. He did not deny his aggressive nature. Rather, he channeled it into the martial arts (he had multiple black belts), and he participated in survivalist adventures. He also reached out to troubled youths and had them channel their aggression into similar activities. I really respected this guy. Don’t deny who you are. Don’t try to change from Mars to Venus through some group therapy. But do channel who you are into something positive.
Johnathon Haidt,, social psychologist discussed 5 basic life and moral issues of early man relative to current evolution of roles. Harm/care,fairness/reciprocity,ingroup/loyalty,authority/respect and purity/sanctification. Not necessarily christian or other organized faith.
Bishop Barron, Father Mike Schmitz, and Jordan Peterson have all moved me to go out and find my mission. What I love about each of them, is that they encourage me to take responsibility for myself in the light of God. They're good men teaching men to be good. However, Charlie Kirk, Matt Walsh, and Michael Knowles, to me, are just political and cultural scapegoaters.
I agree. I do not think Word on Fire should be mentioning those last three and implying they are good examples. Search the internet with their names and you get many descriptor terms such as "Destroy, Own, Take Down, Dismantle" as if this is a competition where we are called to triumph over our foes and rule the world. I do not hear the loving of one's enemies or displaying the fruits of the Holy Spirit as being that important. From such I often hear that Jesus overturned the money-changers table. Well, once you show you can live like Jesus in the compassion and loving aspects, then you might be allowed to throw out some money-changers as well. I am not a math wiz, but I'd say the money-changers incident was in the single digits realm if the actions of Jesus were graphed out. You want to change the world - act like Jesus, or pick a saint - St Francis or St Maximillian Kolbe or St Damien - key: sacrifice for others, not dominate others.
I lost a lot of respect for Michael Knowles when he seemingly boasted about having no idea about how to do his own laundry because his wife always does it for him. That's not masculinity, but helplessness.
Thank God for priests like Bishop Barton and Fr. Chris Alar for speaking the Truth without bias or hatred - only the truth and nothing but the whole Truth
Thank you for the interesting discussion. This is a huge and complex topic. As a woman, our context has been the struggle for I dare say MILLENIA for equal rights under the law, and recall that it's been a scant hundred years since women in this country have had the right to vote. Women still do not earn equal pay for equal work. Within that context the current state of affairs for boys and young men in particular seems proportionally like a much smaller issue, or at least a much, much more recent issue. Let us not forget the lessons of history, or attempt to raise the successes of one group at the expense of others, or look back in nostalgia at a time that may not have been such a good one for everyone.
You are perpetuating a myth: Globally speaking, men as a group were equally disenfranchised for millennia. Originally, only men of a certain age and wealth - a very small minority of landowners - could vote in the US, and elsewhere, including Europe. Not until 1870 did the 15th Amendment formally give all men the right to vote, but a number of restrictions, including literacy tests, poll taxes and other discriminatory practices, were put in place to prohibit poor and uneducated men, i.e. the majority, from voting. So basically, when women were granted the right to vote in 1930 it was not a question of finally introducing equal rights between the two sexes but rather of finally breaking the monopoly of a small elite - a male elite for sure, but by no means an elite encompassing all men in society. So no, "men" as a group have not dominated women for millenia politically: A small minority of well-educated and wealthy landowners have dominated the vast majority of the population, comprised of both men and women. I am sorry to have to put it this bluntly, but the modern tendency to always view inequality through a gender lens too often leads to these kinds of basic, reductionist misunderstandings that will derail any informed and fact-based analysis and discussion.
Beautifully stated on all counts. Additionally, much of this discussion came across as anecdotal praise for the “good old days”, which strikes me as atypical of WoF content, which leads the field (both religious and secular) in nearly every measure of quality. Cause and association are not the same and the loose play with both might lead one to think the topic didn’t merit more discipline in that regard. Perhaps that might mean something to at least a portion of their female audience who, dare I say, are sent this same “message” on the regular. And, while having no woman at the table for this discussion isn’t, by itself, problematic, maybe a female producer might have noted the above, as well as the optics of two men authoritatively speaking about how women are more suited to “ the sit down conversations”, and might have said “um, guys…..some notes for you.” Peace and all good.
Bishop Barron, a few tips to look better: (1) best not to lift your left hand so high as to block your face to the camera; (2) don’t tip your glass of water as it makes me nervous you may topple it and make a mess; (3) put both your hands on the table for visual symmetry rather than hide your right hand under the table. Apart from the above, loved your comments
How do you distinguish between your “address past discrimination with present discrimination” argument with repentance and making restitution? Seems like societal restitution can sometimes feel like “discrimination” to the person benefiting from decades of preferential treatment they are receiving through wrong doing by their predecessors. To put it another way, the person benefiting from stolen goods they inherited will think being forced to return those goods is wrong even when it is perfectly clear the theft occurred. How do you account for that? Societal action has its own unique aspects that differ from individual action. Seems like individuals are likely to always feel wronged in societal repentance. Ex. When a nation repents there will always be some citizens who will cry fowl and suddenly be individuals vs citizens because they stand to lose something.
Pangaea would like its land mass back, and the dinosaurs demand reparations from the astroid that stole their lives. The sphinx would like payment from Napoleon and I'd like my tax dollar to not go to drug addicts, criminals or unfit mothers. This is a democracy and there's enough welfare in this country already.
@ I guess that’s my question more to the point though. How do you tell the difference? There’s always going to be someone that thinks justice looks like injustice when it’s actually just restitution playing out. In most cases I can think of repentance and restitution are painful or at the least uncomfortable. How do you distinguish from doing restitution and doing evil when it’s not obvious?
@@cheeseburger347the scale is too large which means there’s no authority large enough to enact it in a way that everyone can agree to. In other words: if you want it, come and get it.
I always felt that it was just my luck that by the time I came into the world, woman could no longer stay home and be housewives. Often, I would sit in a state of disbelief that my own mom was the last of a generation where stay at home moms were the norm, as I sat at the edge of my bed wondering why I had to get up at the crack of dawn to spend the entire freaking day around people I wasn’t friends with and who would stab me in the back in a minute. It was anxiety producing, I’d be sick to my stomach, but had to suck it up go to work and strive to compete with these people(mostly other women) to stand out and climb some ladder of competitiveness. I feel a huge sense of loss that I missed out on being a housewife. Our world is lost. Please bring back masculine men.
This makes some sense… but we have catholic schools from daycare through university and catholic schools do the same things. A lot of what he is quoting as good curriculum is coming from secular studies and efforts
Father Robert, I have 2 adult sons. Would you speak about this phenomenon happening where the adult children distance themselves from their parents, won't speak...sometimes for years? It is devastating. Highly passive aggressive behavior. Not sure where it's coming from or why our young adults need to differentiate themselves in this way in order to mature? יוי
It's because of your culture, once kids are turned 18 they desire to move out and get their own place. Instead they should live with their parents until they get married. This independence that they have caused them to have resentment, they lack guidance and fall into the temptations of the world. Their separation from Family has led to lack of support in times of desperation. Strengthening family cohesion is crucial, parents should look after their kids even when they're adults and vice versa.
@@MANN0363 it must be something more than just the culture, because I was raised in this culture....though, it was in a Southern society and of a different era. I could never imagine hurting my parents or not speaking with them for years. I hear terrible stories about these adult children having what amounts to temper tantrums and then the silent treatment...for years. My own sons spent some time trying out this behavior and also being "offended" and telling me that I couldn't speak about things that made them "upset". This is all pretty foreign to me ...but I just prayed for their eventual maturation and, thank you Jesus, now that they are 40 they are maturing nicely. I can honestly say that I am very proud of BOTH of my sons now. יוי
@@Timblisi Hey, thank you for commenting. I brought up the question to Bishop Barron because I thought he might be able to shed some light on the spiritual aspects of banishment. Both of my sons are in communication with me and, it's not perfect, but it's better. It's been my experience as a Family Practitioner (GP) that the generation millennial are very sensitive. Far more than perhaps other generations....not quite sure why. First, you have to be taught to do this kind of behavior with the people who raised you. I noticed as my sons got closer to 40 years old their view of things has matured. If I had anything to add to this....spiritually speaking, I'd say that there is a selfish quality to the maturation process that is attacking the family. It would be like a dog that bites the hand that feeds it. Counter intuitive in fact. יוי
@MaryKatharine-mk1 yes...so true. Patience is a virtue we so quickly forget. I do think that the banishment of parents (the example of the young person who kindly responded to my first post) is far more severe than what you and I are speaking about though. It is a serious problem 1:4 families have this adult child/parent non communication. יוי

I think we need to get back to what our strong qualities are as men and women. Old days set it in the real perspective. Lets get away from this toxic masculinity . We are so different and need to be our genders.
As a young man, I didn't respond to physical-based projects. Boy Scouts was one of my least favorite things to have been a part of, being outside in horrible heat or extreme cold in Minnesota weather, and mosquitoes the size of one's head. I was much more preferable to discussing complex ideas, topics, mastering videogames like fighting games (not just placating myself with them). I agree there is a general design from God for men, but I disagree that all men are built the same for a desire for physical-based activities. Macho-Christianity described in this video does not sound at all appealing to me as a Catholic man.
The only time I have been truly alive was when I did things that brought out pure fear in me. With the help of a mentor, I overcame it, and when we were both in a life-and-death moment, that belief saved both of us. When time passes, you get to look back and realise you were really alive for a few minutes with a real friend. A PC is just a tool
@@garyspencer-salt4336 I did Seabase as a scout and almost got swept away in a riptide and had to be saved by my patrol; that is not a particularly good memory for me.
I agree. I think it is an unhelpful stereotype. I am 50, so I did not grow up with computers or the internet, but the whole outdoor adventurer model does not appeal to all. Men and women are different and guess what - one man is different from another. I see the stereotype as a pendulum shift too far in the other direction.
@@ck1578and it is of interest to note that not all women are attracted to gung-ho manliness that borders on the idiotic and life threatening to that man, or worse, can bleed over into not being able to control manly aggression when around family members. Average Joe’s with some practical skills and virtuous poetic hearts could just be what many women want. 🤷♀️
@@ck1578 I think that is not the point here....its about the pernicious view towards men in our culture for 2 decades....I have 2 sons and 3 grandsons...no one thinks all men are the same...but being a man is a journey....for each man but it is okay for a man to say respect me...I have something to offer...men have been demonized...period. Like women cannot hate or fight? let us respect each other...for the gifts we have for the world. Men have a place in our society. They can lead...so can women.....the Orthodox Catholics are more traditional in the view of men and women roles. But there are differences in male and female......
This is a great discussion. However, I have to humbly suggest that men turning away from college is a positive, as the role modern colleges have played in life are to destroy family formation, encourage hedonism, and saddle students with debt, often for no future economic advantage, all while indoctrinating them with explicitly anti-Christian families. Like the return to Church, the rejection of the modern university is a net positive and a bright spot in a potential new trend of men getting their acts back together. Even if the contemporary university system wasn’t hopelessly corrupt, it would still be a system that is truly relevant only for a small minority of men. The more university tries to make itself for everyone, the more it becomes fit for no one.
Firstly, thank you , this is a very broad subject, excuse the pun …the are so many variables to consider ,number one , upbringing ,as in home life ,and we all know how this differs in every household. I was blessed to grow up with two parents who loved each other deeply ,and naturally this shaped my whole life , what I see , what I perceive in relation to what is . This time in society is beyond difficult. There is far too much stress , stimulation, everyone is talking , yelling . We are inundated with influence rightly or wrongly with all manner of topics.. In all of this we have lost a sense of class , decency, and a willingness to at least try and understand people’s views . We have gone off the rails in a scary way . I’m not a pessimist by nature, but I’m mourning our society , we are in a bad state. Anyway , …. I’m sad that you lost your father years ago . He sounds like a wonderful man who had a magnificent influence on you . Coming from a woman , there is just nothing like a good man … I love God’s creation, and I love you . Peace and light always .
Hello Bishop, Could you discuss with Matthew and plan an episode for the other gender? The title would be indeed : " The Fall-and Rise?-of Women ". As the last election results showed young men from GenZ went in the church whereas young women on the contrary are leaving it in droves. From the lack of access an OB-GYN clinician to the unravelling of misoginistic content online they have a lot on their mind too. That would also be a occasion to speak about the rise of the 4B movement. There is enough content on the internet to make a 35 minute conversation. I would like to hear you about this. Thanks in advance!
One of the factors, among many, is video games. I observed my nephews, my friends’ sons - who are addicted to video games. That’s the new addiction of Gen Zs and some Millennials.
I'm sure it'll be hard to respond, but how much of a discrepancy in the old colonial times compared to the missions of today is there? To give an idea of what I'm asking, while there are always opportunities in the world, it seems to me that there may be smaller opportunities for mission today. Where one could hop on a boat to the new world from England to America and colonize the world; literally build the land to be hospitable, there's likely no land that isn't owned by a nation state that you could do this with now. I saw one self-described traditionalist video that criticized men that play Minecraft, saying they can do that in real life instead. But I felt the comparison may not have been fair; you can't just walk to anyone's land and start taking resources, as everything is owned by someone now. Resources, while replenishable, are finite in the short term. What would the non-digital mission look like that would be a 1-to-1 replacement for the type of mission a man might experience in Minecraft in this example?
I'm glad that you had a good example for your father Bishop. I wish there were more ministries for children of divorce, or more acknowledgement of them, in the church. My father and mother divorced, and now I am just reaping the consequences of that, especially when it comes to being able to trust in God as father and Mary as mother.
I am a woman. I always get bored and annoyed by the habit of talking about feelings without doing anything useful about the problem. It’s been like that since I remember myself. I see no point in this habit whatsoever. I would absolutely vote for a kayaking trip instead. Men and women aren’t as different as gender stereotypes in our heads tell us.
I am thinking about the verse from Jesus: 'you all are brethren and you have one Lord.' I am also thinking about the fact that people are made in God's image, and that necessarily involves relationship, the Covenant relationship with God, whereby Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom. In my opinion, people do not need to be heroes or heroins in their own right. Rather, people need to depend on God, thereby keeping the first commandment, and putting all their effort into that, rendering unto God what belongs to. God. Time and effort spent on scaffolding people from societal references detracts from time and energy that should be spent trusting in and following Jesus Christ, carrying one's own cross, learning to keep God's commandments.
that we only fear moving away, and being far from the Good Shepherd. May God the Creator grant us, a foolish generation, to respect more and much better the Goodness that walked on this earth. It is better for our body to die before a believed tyrant of what neither is nor will be, than to die eternally before the eyes of our Savior, God Christ. Saint Lucia, Pray for us, especially for those of us who are cowards before your Lord. May the Savior hear in our words, the improvement of our hearts
The things I would say to the Bishop if we could only have a conversation. He is as much caught up in false narrative as anyone else. Take education, it has not been “feminized” it has been standardized- and that is what is causing kids to be alienated. Loss of manufacturing without any responsibility to readjust our economy is simply mentioned in this conversation when it is at the core of the issue. It is a low paying service economy.
@karlheven8328 To be fair to your reply, I did say the Church is "where" ... I'm speaking of scripture and Tradition. Both of these encourage both male and female rolls in society. The Church teaches the Gospel through Scripture and Tradition, so the Church encourages both male and female rolls in society. I'm not aware of what goes on in each parish.
I went to an all girls schools as well right through high school. I don’t recall sitting around talking about our feelings or gossiping. We had a strong curriculum and were engaged into accomplishing the assignments at hand and many of us, at excelling as well.
In my mere opinion, it is not the Will of our Creator that we be lost in death, trapped by the pride that crawls in this trial to hunt us down, and be trapped by the pride, to be broken into pieces with the breath of the dead. unhappy, and be given as carrion to the third of the stars that decided to perish to eternity The Coming of the Son of the Most High, the promised King-Saint, is the Very fulfillment of That Will, manifested, witnessed, written and protected for generation after generation of brothers created and born to begin our trial, in the freedom that God the Creator grants to every creature, so that it may be built worthy of being His little child In my opinion, until the last moment, of the last day, offers Mercy to each one of us, because That is the Will of our Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of every creature shown worthy of HIM, towards us.
I agree with Bishop, I think the importance of spaces of thoughts, prayers and deep contemplation come about for the desire to create safe spaces and I believe both go hand and hand… the secular view point of creating safe spaces however unfortunately or the dire need and request for those come from the fact that thinking about Mary Magdalene and as well Joan of arc’s capacity to be spiritually gifted from God to be able to see predictions and ways men would fall in battle before, and the occurrence and interaction with demonic entities… looking at pop culture unfortunately and Jeffrey Epstein… P diddy… I think the dire request for those very safe spaces is coming from a spiritual alertness for the greater good of mankind but an interaction of safety through prayer is vital for society to exist and grow… as unfortunately it was men and the Protestant church who put Joan of Arc to death…
I wouldn’t necessarily say toxic masculinity but the capability for the most necessary complementary existence of men and women building each other up as God intended because their is indeed a capacity as well for women and men to become spiritually drained by demonic entities, to see us suffer…
But to be able to express feelings and talk about those things as well because I believe God would want us to complete those tasks hand in hand because it was at the very fall of Man… unfortunately not women who put our very savior to death… I believe really heavily in the reasoning of God approaching Mary Magdalene first as a women… that in that first appearance to her… unfortunately… he needed to create the miracle and healing of her and to save her from the demons to showcase the capabilities for power of prayer and peace and the capability of that miracle… I believe advent and talk therapy are immensely important… as that is what prayer is… talk therapy with God
As a women… it is extremely disheartening to know their is Gospel According to Mary… but I will never read or understand the majority of it… I always question and contemplate how it could of changed the greater good of mankind for the better if we had been conditioned to read it over the generations…
that we, generation of exiles subjected to blindness and the most absolute folly, for destroying us in pride and lust, understand the importance of sex. From that act, from that mutual decision, a soul can come, perfectly Innocent as it is newly created by God the Creator, and those who act and decide in this way are responsible for that work, that decision. How good it is when there are Families, worthy of holding that name, two souls that fight to maintain their Innocence in the bloody decisive battle, calling their Father, God the Creator, to grant them a little soul to care for, to love and for which to be responsible before HIM Queen of Virgins, Queen of Wisdom that is born of Chastity, Pray for us
In my country in the Philippines, in our classroom, the chickens were running around and we didn't have a formal education and manners and right conduct. Also, there's no security and camera as well. Unlike here in the United States Education is characterized by wide features of varieties in every state. Right now is in the ranking 13 for top education in the country behind New Zealand. I believe we have great grade pick-up tools here that help us to become a master of the system to meet the requirements of the school program. I'm willing to go back to my country. St. Antony de Padua, pray for us.
Perhaps Humanity is in decline in western culture supplanted by AI and technology followed by declining world population along with decreased interest in family creation and genetic direction of men and women respecting roles in a natural environment.
Let us be careful not to rid ourselves of the infamy that creeps into this worldly trial; at first, it becomes small spoonfuls, and later, not even huge scoops can satisfy a heart sick with pride, the death of every created spirit. In my sole opinion, Faith is gained and lost. And to harbor Faith you pay a price. A very expensive price at first, especially for those of us who suffer from a heart that is too worldly and therefore small, and, later, a blessed price, very well spent, and more than generous afterwards. For too many of us, deciding on the Commandments of God the Creator to be Happy, becomes almost impossible for us, as we train and mature the decision, we only search and fight to decide on Them. In my opinion, the Holy Rosary, prayed with respect, and asking for others, makes the improvement much faster and lasting, proof against staunch sinners, the weapon of the Blessed One is capable of Healing the most lost souls, someone who has prayed it very recently can already testify to this. Blessed is the yoke that our Savior, God Christ, offers us, the one that when carried and carried, does not weigh and makes the sensible bearer Happy.
Our earthly test requires the necessary uncertainty, and in the Law of God and only in His Law, to freely decide to be Alive or to be dead. In my opinion, the only and most important Reality that should be for us is our soul and its destiny, as a created spirit, we stay in perishable bodies, because that is how our Creator wanted it. Let us trust in the Lord of good souls, if HIM His Most High Eternal Father, who IS, has granted Him the power to forgive our infamies, in the necessary sincere repentance, so it is and so it will be taken into account. That enormous and beneficial power is conferred on His disciples from generation to generation, for the healing of those of us who die but seek sincere Redemption in our Savior, and so it will be until the end of our earthly trial, which ends at any time and in any place In my opinion, the true friend is the one who leads us to God Christ, and what better Friendship than that of our Queen, the Blessed One of God the Creator, Holy Mary, Pray for us
May the Spirit of Holiness, who dwells in the spirit created worthy, Happy and harmonious, find more of our worthy brothers to lodge in May our holy brothers guide us who are blind for sinning, and let us who are deaf for sinning hear them. May our Pride as human creatures, the Mother of Christians, guide us towards the sacred Heart of her Son, a place to which all of us, created and born innocent children from the start, if we achieve the Holiness required in the decision-making battle, are called to Live May we respect much more the Blessed One of God the Creator, and all her army of Holy angels and Holy souls, in which resides and resides the Spirit of Wisdom, Truth and Justice, the Spirit of all that IS Holy. May our Savior forgive us at some point in eternity, for factionalizing and mutilating His sacred Church, in our infamies and selfishness. The Church of our Master, God Christ, is unique: His the assembly of those who gather to Sanctify the Triumph of His Love toward us; those who gather to fulfill and Heal in the third Commandment of the Affiliates in our Eternal Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of creatures worthy of HIM that having had God the Creator, All the Mercy that can be had, His Son, we begin to act as redeemed creatures, and not as the banished and unworthy creatures that we were.
So over simplified. Disappointing stereotyping. Men are still having difficulty in adapting to sharing power with women and changing their attitudes on the role of women.. The power that men have had 100% for hundreds of years.
he who does not want to believe will not believe; He who seeks and does to believe, will believe Let us trust in the Honest and the Just, who gives us what we need to follow Him, so that when the Lord of good souls, God Christ, passes near us, may we have prepared our hearts to understand what He has offered us, and even if we don't understand, let's try to understand He is the Son of our Creator, the Eternal Present, let us trust in the Son of our Creator, he knows us because He Loves us, as He who created us Loves us. He does not mind being in the body where we live briefly to Teach us, in His Word and with His Deeds, paying a price for us, because He is the Son of the Owner of the Vineyard, and of what grows and dies in it every day with our decisions.
This video was problematic. They did not note that there remains a significant discrepancy in men's and women's salaries, with women earning less than men, even if men's salaries have dropped 10 percent and women's have risen (30%?). The full picture must be given. Equal pay for equal work.
I still dont understand why women cannot be priests, i know Jesus was a man but he also a human which is also what women are, being a priest does not require extra physical strength or ther are no special tasks where having a womb rules you out. Its sad and unnecessary.
Part of it is because men need a role in the Church that only they can fill. It's a known truth that when women start doing something men have historically done, the men stop doing it for the most part. Professions like teaching, nursing, marketing, and sales were all historically dominated by men, but as women gradually worked their way into those spaces during the 19th and 20th centuries, the majority of the men left, and now those professions are dominated by women. Look at all the Protestant denominations that allow for female clergy. They're all theologically liberal, and their membership is falling off a cliff. That pretty, old Episcopalian parish on Main Street with a female pastor? Statistically, it's going to be shuttered and sold off in the next 10 years.

The Law is fulfilled in our promised King, the Holy One of God, the Holy One of Israel, in God Christ every ancient Law and every present Law is fulfilled. Saint John the Baptist is the last of the prophets of the God of Israel, God the Creator, to prepare the entourage of His Son, His first disciples and His first followers. the one who precedes the Lord of good souls, the one who paves the way and prepares our hearts, ears and eyes, to hear and see the One, who we should hear and see, to Goodness among all Goodness incarnated as Good Shepherd to guide to His people from generation to generation of souls, He proclaims and invites us to be attentive and sensible so that when He passes by us, we know how to listen and see. In this land of decision, and therefore of battle, the dead beast without love, the murderer from the beginning, already conspires and uses our puppet brothers, succumbed to pride and lust, perished as carrion for death, to persecute to Him who cries in the desert
having been with Bishop Barron to celebrate Mass in Baltimore a few weeks ago, it is wonderful to hear his thoughts on such a timely topic. thank you.

I find that this video was not very nuanced. I agree that women also enjoy adventure. And we should all be aware of our emotions.
Thanks for the commentary, Loretta. I enjoyed reading it.
Bishop Barron is the modern day Fulton Sheen.
@@FatherBrown34 Can't say Ramaswamy is reasonable at all.
We are all people of our times. If someone spoke as Bishop Sheen did, they would be shunned as crazy.

Would be awesome to see a book on this topic by Bishop Barron: the legacy of men at the Holy Catholic Church.
I flunked in my ROTC because of the professor's rotted smelly shoes. I didn't get the long-term benefits of climbing trees. I like Girl Scouts myself.
Great episode!
Great and very relevant discussion .. Thanks

SEE YOU SOON
Bishop Barron, Father Mike Schmitz, and Jordan Peterson have all moved me to go out and find my mission. What I love about each of them, is that they encourage me to take responsibility for myself in the light of God. They're good men teaching men to be good. However, Charlie Kirk, Matt Walsh, and Michael Knowles, to me, are just political and cultural scapegoaters.
Same here!

Very fascinating topic!
Come Lord Jesus 🙏🏼❤🕊Repent, believe in the Gospel, Be Born Again
I’m not trying to criticize anything. I just want to know the difference.
Yeah, but you can't do evil that good might come of it. Whatever form this personal reparation takes, it can't devolve into injustice.

Father Robert,
I have 2 adult sons.

This discussion has to be front & center !

Could you discuss with Matthew and plan an episode for the other gender? The title would be indeed : " The Fall-and Rise?-of Women ". As the last election results showed young men from GenZ went in the church whereas young women on the contrary are leaving it in droves. From the lack of access an OB-GYN clinician to the unravelling of misoginistic content online they have a lot on their mind too. That would also be a occasion to speak about the rise of the 4B movement. There is enough content on the internet to make a 35 minute conversation. I would like to hear you about this. Thanks in advance!

Boys learn by, and need to be doing things. It's what we're made for.

I was afraid that the bishop would spill his water glass.

Could this rise in men-in-church phenomenon be that the Church is the only place where men are encouraged *to be men* ?
Undoubtedly yes. The Church is a cultural refuge.
I don't know if they are encouraged, I would say they are merely not vilified😂 but encouraged I was never in my parish🥲
I went to an all girls school and nobody at my school enjoyed talking about our feelings. Tangible projects were always preferred.

Listening to this is actually extremely disheartening in some ways…😔
that we, generation of exiles subjected to blindness and the most absolute folly, for destroying us in pride and lust, understand the importance of sex.
From that act, from that mutual decision, a soul can come, perfectly Innocent as it is newly created by God the Creator, and those who act and decide in this way are responsible for that work, that decision.
How good it is when there are Families, worthy of holding that name, two souls that fight to maintain their Innocence in the bloody decisive battle, calling their Father, God the Creator, to grant them a little soul to care for, to love and for which to be responsible before HIM
Queen of Virgins, Queen of Wisdom that is born of Chastity, Pray for us

In my country in the Philippines, in our classroom, the chickens were running around and we didn't have a formal education and manners and right conduct. Also, there's no security and camera as well. Unlike here in the United States
Education is characterized by wide features of varieties in every state.
That enormous and beneficial power is conferred on His disciples from generation to generation, for the healing of those of us who die but seek sincere Redemption in our Savior, and so it will be until the end of our earthly trial, which ends at any time and in any place
In my opinion, the true friend is the one who leads us to God Christ, and what better Friendship than that of our Queen, the Blessed One of God the Creator, Holy Mary, Pray for us
May the Spirit of Holiness, who dwells in the spirit created worthy, Happy and harmonious, find more of our worthy brothers to lodge in
May our holy brothers guide us who are blind for sinning, and let us who are deaf for sinning hear them.
May our Pride as human creatures, the Mother of Christians, guide us towards the sacred Heart of her Son, a place to which all of us, created and born innocent children from the start, if we achieve the Holiness required in the decision-making battle, are called to Live
May we respect much more the Blessed One of God the Creator, and all her army of Holy angels and Holy souls, in which resides and resides the Spirit of Wisdom, Truth and Justice, the Spirit of all that IS Holy.
May our Savior forgive us at some point in eternity, for factionalizing and mutilating His sacred Church, in our infamies and selfishness.
The Church of our Master, God Christ, is unique: His
the assembly of those who gather to Sanctify the Triumph of His Love toward us; those who gather to fulfill and Heal in the third Commandment of the Affiliates in our Eternal Creator, Father of God Christ, and Father of creatures worthy of HIM
that having had God the Creator, All the Mercy that can be had, His Son, we begin to act as redeemed creatures, and not as the banished and unworthy creatures that we were.
So over simplified. Disappointing stereotyping.
Men are still having difficulty in adapting to sharing power with women and changing their attitudes on the role of women.. The power that men have had 100% for hundreds of years.
he who does not want to believe will not believe; He who seeks and does to believe, will believe
Let us trust in the Honest and the Just, who gives us what we need to follow Him, so that when the Lord of good souls, God Christ, passes near us, may we have prepared our hearts to understand what He has offered us, and even if we don't understand, let's try to understand
He is the Son of our Creator, the Eternal Present, let us trust in the Son of our Creator, he knows us because He Loves us, as He who created us Loves us.
He does not mind being in the body where we live briefly to Teach us, in His Word and with His Deeds, paying a price for us, because He is the Son of the Owner of the Vineyard, and of what grows and dies in it every day with our decisions.
Take care of your order who believes in your gift.
My 3 masculine saints are Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and Martin Luther King.
They are secular saints, not Christian.
Those aren't saints (and there's no such thing as secular saints)
@@DoubleOhSilver I probably should’ve put the word Saints in quotation marks. They are certainly treated as saints within the secular community.
Martin luther king had so many lovers and was always with more woman at the same time. Its funny how people think he is a hero
I totally agree: Extreme feminism 🙈
“Why not just making another man & removing all different aspects …… “ / to me that sounds as «A Bronx Tale» which potentially can slope down into The Bottomless Depths of Its Everlasting theme : why not _ At the Beginning _ just doing nothing at all instead of «moving broodingly upon the face of (flat) waters » to create so much differences? // ( “ everything that is different from another thing deserves to be flattened again & …… “ ! ) 😀…,
The Law is fulfilled in our promised King, the Holy One of God, the Holy One of Israel, in God Christ every ancient Law and every present Law is fulfilled.
