So sad to see. I was part of the start up team with Thomson Fly setting up the operation at the new DSA in 2005. Great times and memories. Wishing the best for the great staff there. I hope someone takes this airport over, it has true potential.

Such a sad day, been flying from here for the last 7 - 8 years for holidays to Lanzarote & Florida. Coming here as a kid in the eighties for the raf finningley air show seeing The red arrows, Vulcan bomber and walking through Concord was amazing such great memories of this place.
Words cannot describe the devastation; another airport closed. It’s almost as aviation is slowly regressing. As the last plane disappears into the pitch solemn sky we can finally and unfortunately put Doncaster to sleep. Something we don’t want to do but it is now we look back on the best of these days where the sun shone down on the worst days. Where glory was to be seen everywhere. With that said it’s unfortunate we wrap up our future with Doncaster and make it memories, which we shall not forget. Sleep tight Doncaster ❤️ 28th April 2005-4th November 2023 ❤️
How sad I live in Spain and came over when my Granddaughter got her Degree a few years ago,we flew out of Doncaster, lovely comfy friendly airport..I remember it was one of the strictest airports. Very sad Let's hope someone will rescue her 🙏🙏❤❤❤
My heart is broken in pieces💔 I have been travelling from Doncaster Airport to my home country Poland over 15 years and can’t imagine that it’s over😔 none of the airports in UK was good as Doncaster! I think it’s unfair to close this airport especially that there is a person who wants buy this airport!

Unfortunately, it's illegal to stream the ATC LIVE. In this case, there was another person near us on the mound who had their scanner on. Nothing we can do in that case.
Sad moment, very poignant seeing all the ground staff lined up. Sad for Aviation and sad for those people who have lost their jobs, my heart goes out to them all especially with Christmas looming. Lovely tribute by Airliners Live, well done all of you. Thank you.
Took my last flight from DSA on 12/10/22 and the staff facing redundancy were putting on smiling brave faces. Such a shame that Peel Group instead of trying to save the airport have done everything they could to shut it down. No doubt lots of warehousing will replace the airport and hopefully planning will be blocked or slowed by the councils the same as Peel have carried on.
Sad day, Blackpool suffered the same fate when run by a National Company (acknowledged as a leader in their field) think it was more an issue of writing off company debts. It’s now an enterprise zone like so many other regional airports empty office space, who says our Politicians really care it’s all London and south east centric they care about.
Some shame. Such a modern airport having to shut down cause a lack of money... The amount of infrastructure around an airport, buses hotels parking etc etc. For it just to close is crazy. Hopefully someone buys it soon so dosent sit empty too long. Perfect timing for a last flight. Off into the dark. All the stewards walking with the tug is such a great yet sad image.

The company which owns Doncaster Sheffield Airport says it has not been approached by an investor interested in a takeover for four months but “remains open” to talks.
Very sad indeed, to watch. Such a major asset to the area lost. A lot of airports across the Earth operate at a loss and receive government assistance as they give back so much more to the economy than they take. Something makes me think that we haven't heard the last from Doncaster Sheffield Airport. As we say in the world of aviation Blue skies.
I used Doncaster Airport about 6 times a year flying to Wroclaw with Wizzair, it was like a taxi service for me. Wizair has switched to Leeds Bradford which is over double the traveling time now just to get to the airport. Some people might not like it but Brexit is to blame, whilst we were in the EU the terminal was busy...so another Brexit bonus...NOT!!!
Hi all, I’ve been to Robin Hood airport Doncaster, is this the same airport? I’m from Australia so I’m not sure it’s the one I left from to travel to ireland and Venice . Sad watching the last flight leave.
I hope the labour mayors are kicked out of South Yorkshire soon. Peel is great man like all billionaires they have worked hard to get where they are unlike idiots like our Mayors who have never run businesses. A VERY SAD day, I used to work at DSA and was stood on the ramp the day the 1st commercial flights departed .

I watched the 737 from my window in Worksop slowly climb off into the darkness, off to manchester, sleep tight doncaster airport.

When the airport reopens it should be renamed Peel International Airport, a statue in the entrance of Peel would remind us all what a great man he is.

2005 as a commercial airport but it was RAF Finningley for many years before.
