I think that this sentence could be taken two ways. To say “we had better” implies that the discussion is necessary but has not taken place yet. The other way implies that the discussion should take place in a better or more detailed manner. That’s just my opinion and how I read the sentence.😊
Hi, Can I ask why does the answer for question number 11 is "had"?had is past simple tense right? there's the word "later" it means the discussion isn't still done, can I ask why huhu
I will give you the link to test your English knowledge. Thanks to this link, you will be able to see what score your English proficiency is at. Those who started the test but could not take it constitute the majority. So which one are you? th-cam.com/video/4yjKHMvAfxI/w-d-xo.html
@mustafa akcan. Your grammar is incorrect. The word "questions" is plural so the verb has to be plural. Your sentence should be "All the questions were perfect."
15/15. It’s a pity that people who think some of your answers are “incorrect” are not informed as to where they should search for good English grammar. They argue about it instead of learning from books. And so they continue thinking they are right and you are wrong! Such a pity they’re not helped to learn.
Something I've learned today: We use had better to refer to the present or the future, to talk about actions we think people should do or which are desirable in a specific situation. The verb form is always had, not have. We normally shorten it to ’d better in informal situations. It is followed by the infinitive without to
Had better: typical errors We use had better to give specific advice, not to talk about obligations or requirements; instead, we use have to, have got to or must: You have to (or must) hold a full, valid driving licence to hire a car. Not: You’d better hold a full, valid driving licence to hire a car.
Question # 11 is correct..had better is a modal verb ..that gives suggestion or advice ..we can use it for the particular situations in the present and in the future.

Eh. Got 12/15. For question 14, I thought it was "with". For question 11, I thought it was "should". For question 6, I was torn between "he and I" and "him and I", but I leaned towards "him and I". Didn't even consider the right answer ("him and me"). For some reason, that sounds very wrong to me. I had hoped for a better score, as I like to think I'm fairly fluent in English, but apparently I may be a little rusty sometimes.
I want to talk to them about this English communication because I will do learn a lot from this new word and grammar quiz, can I give them my phone number?
Regarding question # 11, I believe that the correct answer is (should) because the statement is in the future tense based on the nature of the word (later). Would you please explain ... ?
Please note that we don't use 'better' after should. Never say 'We should better.... We use 'had better' to say what is the best thing to do in a situation that is happening now. We had better hurry or we’ll miss the train. You had better go to the doctor about your cough. We had better leave now or we'll miss the bus. We can also shorten had better to 'd better. For example, You'd better not do that again.
Hi nice English vid and thank you for this vid.! Because my brain is now trained and I am just grade 3 and I am practicing this again thank you for this vid
Best answer is had better. Had better is used to tell somebody what you think they should do. For example, You'd better go to the doctor about your cough. We'd better leave now or we'll miss the bus. You'd better not do that again.
Usually English phrases are kind of fixed unlike in our languages. “Congratulate somebody on something” is how it’s used. Take a look at some more examples below. Blame somebody for something Accuse somebody of something Exchange something for something But Exchange something with somebody
Isn't question 11 incorrect? I'd go with should as in 'We should better discuss the details later'. Would and had make no sense to me
I think the verb ending needs to change in order to make "had" the correct answer
Yes 11 is incorrect
Surely 11 is incorrect
You would better consult the doctor.....I thnk so would is correct....
