    If some of you guys had started out recording on reel to reel and a mixer with a very basic spring reverb…..you would be super happy to have any modern DAW. I guess you don’t miss what you never had……but the stuff I learned on reel to reel I still use in Logic. Everything else to me is like a bonus. Hell I remember the first drum machines a sequencers……just enjoy the great choices you have today!

    Music production has been evolving since the beginning. I can only imagine the uproar when all of a sudden multi-track recording came out. Changed the game. Instead of complaining, embrace the change and use it to your advantage. You could spend your time complaining or making music. Your choice.

      Multitrack expanded the objectively limited tools. But it was a tool for the artist who still operated and created manually from the heart. If your comment was you shadowboxing nobody in particular regarding AI, the key critique of AI in songwriting specifically is that it’s less a tool and more a development that strikes at the heart of something so personal to the artist.

    In logic you can have it change the project tempo automatically based on an audio file, you just need to change the tempo setting to ‘Adapt Tempo’. Then drag an audio file in and it gives the option to analyse it and change the project to the average tempo

    Great video as always. My personal opinion is that I hate that Apple forces everyone that doesn't have the latest MacBooks/iMac's (M1 chips and beyond) to use buy new products in order to use these new features in the update. I have an MBP '19 i9 and wasn't able to use the new Stem Splitter and ChromaGlow features due to not having the new M1 chips. Aside from that, there's nothing really "new" to the UI and Apple has failed to update and add anything new for the DAW itself. Still love Logic but I wish they'd listen to the community a bit more.

    As a logic user I don’t understand why everyone with FL says the piano roll sucks. And that’s what they usually lead with. Logic NEEDS GHOSTS NOTES. Super useful but for me that’s the only area where it’s slacking. What I do is select my track then select another region and now whatever other region I select displays in the piano roll.

    • @chuckery5177
      @chuckery5177 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Another thing logic needs is a pan knob in the piano roll so we can pan individual notes. Makes panning kicks go crazy without having to automate.

    • @Ayecartermusic
      @Ayecartermusic 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kingofdjembe it just depends on what your style of beats are. I have no reason to pan midi, drums or anything… then slides it’s def faster but in logic you have to go to sampler and just raise your glide time. For note slicing I have my right click as the scissors tool. So I can highlight multiple notes and just slice away. I think it’s the lack of knowledge out there for logic that got a lot of people thinking it’s not good enough

      This really isn’t that. They do definitively push people to upgrade. But in this situation the intel chips literally do not have the ai cores. Apple silicon has the Neural Engine cores built in. Intel just doesn’t have the actual hardware to do that. So this isn’t a situation where Apple is trying to do anything, the intel chips are just older tech.

      @@joeford454 Yeah Apple does have a history of marketing to people a lot, but usually they are pretty good with how long they support things. iPads can get updated for 6 years, and you can use it for years after, same with iPhones. But they are skilled at making the new technology look good. M1 is really good, and you can get them for a good deal now used, but Intel is still very useful, and if that’s all a person has, its really good Apple is even still giving updates to older devices.

    • @ghost-user559
      @ghost-user559 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@joeford454 I think a lot of it is actually Apple competition making these ideas more popular. Because ironically Apple products are supported longer than any other phone or tablet with updates. But they do market a lot, so it also does make people feel pressured to get the latest technology, so that part is true. So its not that Apple is actually any worse than any other company, and in fact they give updates longer than anyone else does, its just they market newer technology so often it can overwhelm people at times.

      Seen your reaction and had to react on it. Learning music production and theory is always your base. AI is such a power full tool, BUT the human being is even more power full. Remember: AI is created by the human, it didn't create itself.

      Fl didn’t add a fantastic drum machine and sampler? FL doesn’t come with a free Loops Sampler library at the scale of Logic, and it doesn’t come with Alchemy, which is like having a free Omnisphere. I mean Logic has added some crazy things recently as well, they just needed to catch up on this. Same as all Daws really. Every Daw lags somewhere and exceeds another in some other thing. Fl does what it does well, but it can’t compare for an orchestra or a live band, or scoring a movie, and Logic has features for all that and more.

    I like the ‘players’ but now lots of producers are gonna make the same thing, or similar.
