This is not working. I can see, with the party chat overlay, that my mic is working. But OBS is not picking it up at all. But it can hear my console and games. Just not me nor the party chat.
@thatvrguy3888 Yes and no. The virtual audio cable is needed. But it's a hit or miss if Windows wants to let it work. Lots of changing multiple settings in both Windows and OBS. One console, muting and unmuting my main and/or the alt in the party chat didn't always work. Sometimes it would work but would stop capturing the game audio. Or sometimes it would capture both on the same audio wave and make it impossible to lesson the volume of one over the other.

You are supposed to use an external microphone on your laptop and use your standard Xbox Headset! Sorry I didn’t make that more clear in this video - maybe I should make an updated version. I recommend the Blue Snowball as a starter microphone it’s about $50.

Totally valid question. Unfortunately, the answer is you will need an external microphone for your computer. This is because it is recording what your Xbox hears, and it does not hear your voice, only your friends’. Hope this helps!

Make two separate ones one with the capture and one with the waveout... just make sure to put the screen capture above the wave out so it doesnt black out

This can all be done in obs using your capture card - but if you don’t have a capture card, yes it could be viable to use the win 10 app. I’m sorry if I misunderstood your question.

To clarify - they only sound like this when you do wave out? Are you listening to your party & computer audio simultaneously? This issue happened to me when I did that.
Yes - it will be saved in the recording… this is mainly a streaming thing, if you are looking to edit audio, using audition to record tracks with your mic as an input and the Elgato with chat cable will likely be necessary.
The Elgato / Capture card you use will act as a pass through. This will send the feed to your computer as an input device, and still output to your display.
@@haydino5493 well there’s one hdmi port on one side and the other side has a USB to plug into the pc, so o plug my hdmi cable from my Xbox into the capture card, and then after I plug the capture card to the pc with the USB side. The only problem is that it goes on my obs, but how am I supposed to look at my Xbox screen to play if the screen is on my obs and it’s kinda delayed

Hey dude, huge problem with this is you can't lower the sound of the speaker vocals when they double play through the headset... Comes out fine on stream but when I turn folks down with my headset the extra vocals can't be lowered so you have loud team mates in your ear aswell as game audio.... That's how it goes for me

@@haydino5493 Sorry dude just seen this....didn't notify me. ya it gives me double audio....headset and speakers in my tb elite 800x when i set it to headset and speakers....which seems normal but i have no way of lowering the speaker volume and it stays super loud in my ears when folks speak.....the headset setting is grand as i can raise and lower that but not the annoying speaker one and i need that to let folks hear me chatting with lads in game

I have audio input capture set to iShowU audio (have a MacBook) for desktop sound & on advanced properties I have it on monitoring on & output. Then for my voice I plugged like the earphone microphone onto the aux & made a new audio input capture 2 with the same setting of monitoring on & output.

Sorry friend - I never realized I didn’t respond. You have to have an external microphone. It won’t let you hear yourself without one.

Sorry for the late reply - you have to use an external (USB or XLR) microphone as your own audio input. A solid starter mic is the Blue Snowball.

You also have to have an Xbox microphone already. You need a headset + an external mic for this method.

Yes, but it won't hear your voice. It will only hear your voice if you use an external microphone, like the blue snowball.
