    Fascinating planes. Many (if not all) of them were new to me. They look a little odd, as if belonging to a “this is what the future will look like”-book from the 30s

    Back when pilots had balls. That last plane was very low.

      Not uncommon for military pilots. There's a *combat training* Air Station near me with dedicated "adversary aircraft", so yeah... exactly what you think happens.

    As l watched this I found myself asking what happened. The answer I came up with, labour'goverments .what might have been

      Most of what we see here are prototypes that actually went on to have fairly long service lives in the RAF, Royal Navy, or in civilian service. About the only thing that didn`t was the big Princess flying boat.
