As an aside, this was the first time Scott had identified as part of the community in a Pentatonix video.
Not just individuals. They also displayed what linked them to the person on either side. Each handoff of the sign was a thing they shared with the next in line. It was a powerful moment

This is probably my favorite song. John Lennon penned a master piece when he wrote this, and this is probably my favorite version other than the original. Chris Cornell cover was my second favorite version, however PTX just got me smiling when I heard their version the first time. Unfortunately we're still Imagining John, but we're working on it.
Even after 100+ viewings this one never fails to bring the waterworks. As you rightly observed, the diversity displayed among the members along with the unity required to create such a harmonious wall of sound, is the perfect embodiment of the song's message. Whenever I get discouraged or pessimistic about the state of current affairs, this is my go to source to refuel hope.
Such a beautiful song, especially when PTX sings it. But considering current events, it is perfection!

This song and video is so inspirational. The messages they send through the song are so important. Watching this and listening to it just makes me emotional. The world could be like that. The world could be peaceful, people could live in equality, accepting, and so much more. We’re all human at the end of the day. We all bleed red.

I love this song. I was blessed enough to do a clinic that sang this song with Avi in a choir January 2019. I was singing the part I was in that clinic during this song

For a concert, the bass should be in the middle. (Although this lineup for a video could be any lineup).
One of the things that I liked(besides the message) is how they keep the song fairly simple.
The cards showing all their diversity as a group who come together and love each other while making great music - it was meant to be.

Brings tears to my eyes every time I here these guys sing this song. It meant a lot back when John Lennon wrote and recorded it, and it has such a visual impact the way PTX recorded it. ❤ Share the heck out of this, guy's! The more people it reaches, the better! 👍

I think Avi looks short because he is standing between Scoot and Kevin who are both well over 6 feet tall and Kirstie and Mitch are wearing giant platform shoes.
That's a big part of it. There's also the slight bit of distortion due to the lens on the camera. It's a wide angle lens to get them all in the field of view. One of the characteristics of wide angle lenses is that objects closer to the lens are emphasized and objects further away appear to diminish in size. They're standing in a slight arc with Mitch and Kirstin slightly closer to the camera on the ends and Avi slightly behind Scott and Kevin in the middle. The combination of S&K's height and the effect of the lens is why Avi looks shorter than he actually is.

I remember I showed my mom this song. She’s homophobic, and laughed when the LGBTQ+ card appeared. I’m still in the closet because of her. I hope one day I won’t feel like I need to hide from her anymore

I'm a mom of 4 and I'm a Christian. Two of my precious children are bi-sexual and I had my innermost self challenged by them. I cannot lie and say it was an easy thing for me but I don't want to be a stagnant, ignorant person who doesn't accept the opportunity for growth and seeing problems within myself. I accept that this is what my children's realities are, and I love them unconditionally. I also love whoever they love and welcome them into my heart.

Mitch and Avi amaze me every time! Their vocal ability and quality is outstanding, God given or not, just by happenstance they were born to have that quality. Their talent is just to hard to even describe in words. My ears are always happy when I hear them.

It was a powerful song when John Lennon did it, PTX has brought it to a higher level, IMO. Headphones are always needed for music especially a cappella, but this is just ear orgasms for me.
Especially when the a cappella group has a bass whose voice goes lower than most phone or tablet speakers can reproduce! Geoff Castellucci does a beat in VoicePlay’s cover of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” that I can just barely hear on my phone, but with headphones I can feel it!

Imagine ist one of the "simplest" and most powerful cover videos. No crazy stuff is going on, only them, a dark background and signs.
Perfect to get the message across. I've no idea how many times I watched it but it still touches my hearth. There is so much violance, envy, greed, hate, egoism and so on in the world. I would love to live in a world full of peace, respect, tolerance, compassion and helpfulness.
